  3. I put mine on just after Si did, and I'll say mine does handle a good bit better, a lot less body roll but little effect on drive comfort. You do feel the bumps more though :) Oh and it looks bloody great now. :D
  4. He's from Portugal mate :) Jamie Seriously though, how are we supposed to know how much to pay for one in portugal :duh:
  5. Indeed it is a very nice colour, but personally I'm waiting for the IS-f (I wish ) Seriously though, good choice, nice car :)
  6. Just recently put new discs and pads on mine, I went with dba grooved discs all round and ferodo sport pads, what a difference, they're pretty awesome. And just a point to note, Mintex pads are made at euro friction, a factory just down the road from me, my mate works there and he say's that they are pretty poorly made pads, and that no one who works there uses them on their own cars! make of that what you will. I know lots of people on here use mintex pads and think thay are fine, but just bear those comments in mind, thats the reason I went with ferodo and not mintex.

  8. Ok fine I take back the reliability ting, but don't no one say Fiesta's aren't reliable cause they bloomin well are, and on the off chance that they do break down parts are cheap as chips! (I know we were discussin Alfa's :duh: ) and as for the handling, the Lexus handling is garbage without up rating it which costs a small fortune, where's Alfa's handling is sweet straight out the box (so was my fiesta's by the way, it was like a go cart) I'm sorry I just have a real love hate thing wi my Lex, a lot of the time I love it, most of the time I hate it, but I'm like hat with all cars which is why the missus wont let me sell the Lex and buy summit else, cause I'd just hate that in a couple of months :shutit:
  9. Ok I'm gonna be honest, now dont get me wrong, I love my lexus, but it aint all that! It's a lovely car to look at, and to drive in a straight line at cruising speed, but for anything else, it's not that great. It is seriously sluggish in low revs, it handles like a wobly old bike, and mine has broken down far more times than my mate's alfa. I used to have a Fiesta zetec s, a 1.6 16v and I swear it was faster than my lex, and it was never in the garage for anything more than an oil change! And before you start sayin 'oh there must be summit wrong wi your car' there aint, I've driven quite a few, and most of them have felt worse than mine! at least mine handles half way decent now since I put on the Tien springs. And it's never been out the garage gettin the brakes fixed what with all the pings and clicks and clunks from the brakes, and dont say you haven't had any trouble with your Lex, cause if you haven't, you will. So in my humbl opinion if you want performance AND reliability, buy a bloody fiesta! rant over. :shutit:
  10. I've got DBA'a all round, highly reccomend them, but they aint cheap! £450 for all 4 :duh:
  11. I was thinkin about gettin a Supra a few months back but I checked my insurance quotes and was actually pleasantly surprised, only a few quid dearer than my IS, only thing is I had been quoted on a UK car, imports were about thrice the price!!! Now try and find a decent UK car, I know I couldn't, not a manual, twin turbo anyway all the UK ones are either pimped up real badly, have more miles than a moon buggy or are non turbo automatics!! Hey, I'm still lookin though :D
  12. anything u can do to sort out the brake pads shifting in the calipers? I had mine done the other day, it's the spring, it needs to be bent in so that it cannot be removed by hand, his will hold the pad tighter :)
  13. only real problems I've had have been to do with the brakes, and stereo. Clinky brakes, clunky brakes, grindy brakes, warped brakes, safe to say the brakes are quite **** Only other major problem I had was with my front shocks, but I blame all the speed bumps in my area, and they weren't too dear to replace anyway. as for the stereo, I just ripped the ***** out and stuck in an alpine :D
  14. Thats her fixed, no clinkin anymore, it was indeed the springs. Cheers again :D
  15. Hi all, I had the same issue. New pads, discs, springs, shims were fitted. Turned out to be the springs. They need to fit very tight before the pads are fitted. Bend them so the clip into the carrier tight. You should not be able to take them out with your hand after. Clunks now gone when I go over ripples on the road etc.. :D Cheers for that, car is going to garage tomorrow, I'll tell them what you told me :D
  16. just last week, but it wasn't doin it at first, only for the last couple of days. It's goin back in on monday, the monkeys better fix it!
  17. Its give me your knowledge time! I've got a fairly loud 'clink' noise from my drivers side rear wheel when I press the brakes, this sound also occurs when I hit a bump, the same noise, from the same wheel. What ccould this be? I've got brand new dba grooved discs and ferodo sport pads all round so it aint just as simple as replacing the discs or pads. Could it be the caliper? sensible answers on a postcard please
  18. B)--> QUOTE(Hank B @ Apr 4 2007, 11:16 PM) ← Pirelli's all the way, the P zero's if you can afford them but I've got P6000's and they're the best thing since sliced bread :D Forget that I just checked, you cant get the P6000's or P zero's in the size you need for the standard IS 17's but hey if you aint got the standard hoops you can :P
  19. Pirelli's all the way, the P zero's if you can afford them but I've got P6000's and they're the best thing since sliced bread :D
  20. Mine was vibratin real bad when braking recently, so I went the full hog and got DBA discs and ferodo sport pads all round, £700 was the total bill but man can you feel every penny. No more vibrating and it stops on its nose :D
  21. got any sound clips yet? Cause I'm wantin a new exhaust and that was pretty much top of my list but I wanna hear it first, thing is though I want one that is loud! I aint tryin to be subtle wi my lex :D
  22. Finally bit the bullet and bought DBA's all round, I got them direct from DBA at a better price then TDI were offering. I also got ferodo pads I was gonna get mintex but I was talking to a guy who works in the factory where mintex pads are made, and he said they aint very good and recommended ferodo. I aint got them fitted yet but I cant wait casue mine are warped so bad they're shakin my eye balls out! :duh:
  23. I've got yokohama's and the road noise isn't noticable. Tell you what though if you drive with your window open you can hear one hell of a whistle coming from the air buzzin through your wing mirror, or is that just me
  24. well I won't be going I'm afraid, I work every bloody weekend. So if you hear anything nice let me know and might just get one too :D
  25. That is lovely, I'm well Jealous Those arch extensions really set it off, I want some of them!
