  1. i spoke to him a few weeks back and was supposed to hook up with him but think he was still busy sorting his car.think he is fairly busy with work also.
  2. If you wait until revlimit kicks in you are actually losing power. If you know your engine you will be changing at Peak revs before the power starts to drop off. I do think though that the autobox on the 430's is probably better at changing at exactly the right time than the majority of us mere mortals. yeah youre right, that isnt what i was trying to say.Obviously im not bouncing of the limiter.what i was trying to say was, once ive hit maximum revs per gear(peak) the wheels spin.its hard to avoid wheel spin in such a powerful car with no weight at the rear and so makes it very hard to get away from auto boxes that are designed to shoot through the gears.
  3. hmmm, interesting debate going on.I too like the way the Lexus cars sprint of the line when combined with an auto box.We own a few lexii,an RX300,RX350,IS200's and they all use the auto box.when i floor any of them of the line,i find they fly of the line almost like an electronic pre-programmed launch in a performance car such as an M3 or RS4.I also own an E46 M3 supercharged which churns out about 404rwhp and if i tried to floor it off the line, like i do with the lexus cars,id be sat in the same position for a very long time, burning rubber. Its also very hard work to launch it perfectly in anything other than bone dry conditions, because as i hit the rev limit in each gear im obviously releasing maximum power and this causes wheel spin at each gear change, which kills power and time.In the Lexus cars 0-30 is stupidly quick-there is no drag or delay-its really punchy, especially in the RX cars.Ive had a race with the RX350 upto 70ish and the M3 was beat 0-35ish and after that the Lexus was gone, but for town driving-its certainly stronger of the line than a supercharged M3.

  6. i really want to like the iphone 3g but with the performance record so far i cant help feeling utterly disappointed.I was out withy some techie computer lads the other night for a few lagers and soon realised how far behind i was in the knowledge area with gadgets and all things technocrat. But one thing i could understand was the fact that they all said the 3g iphone is a very good phone and that it will change the way we all see comms. In that it has huge aftermarket dedicated to the iphone making it the only phone option for the future and they claim that many in the future will drop their home phone's fairly soon after certain technologies are realised.Like i said i dont pretend to understand but it seem the iphone 3g is here to stay, even though its had tonnes of initial teething issues.

  8. im in agreement.I believe that Adie deserves some serious explanations and some money back for all this.cant help but feel that he's getting the rawest deal of all.Could have been any of us.
  9. cool guys.im going to bring both i think, seeing as Chris has kindly offered to drive my other up there.I hope the M3 will work well but would be gutted if i got there and it was raining hard cos id defo need my IS.the M3 is on toyo R888s also so it could be a bit scary in the wet.i may have to find some PS2's for it sharpish. @Bazza -cool,ill defo take you up on that, thanks. R888's are OK in the wet...........as long as its not torrential or standing water.............. i find them better than the pilot sport cups that were on before the toyo's but i dont feel confident with them on the M3 in mildy moist or generally wet conditions.ive never been able to pass 6000rpm without the car getting out of shape at the rear in gears 1-4.with PS2's the wheel spin is controllable.youre obviously a brave/talented driver. Sorry mate missed your call earlier :o Let me know if you want to run both cars up mate and we'll sort it out before the event and is it ok to take both cars in?? thats a fair point.i guess if its two cars then supposedly id need to pay an extra £90.

  13. Wise words. But having a IS200 suped up is special! More so now every boy racer can afford to buy a standard IS200.... i totally agree kazi, but surely there's a limit.Adie has clearly spent endless amounts of ££££s on this car and when it was useable and a pleasure to him it was no doubt worthwhile to him and could easily be argued as a worthwhile project, however its still costing him money and he has 0 pleasure from it,so in my humble opinion feel that a true enthusiast like adie deserves results.I have no respect for barry boy tossers that reverse into halfrauds and feel theyve modded a car, instead i respect people like us forum users for always going the right way with serious modifications by spending that little extra and researching properly.well adie did that and look at the raw deal he is getting.I also feel he may be so far down the line with this project now that he has tunnel vision and feels that if he doesnt finish it,it will in some way be regarded as a failure,so im just trying to say dont feel that way if thats the way youre feeling-youve done your absolute best to get it that far,but dont continue to hemorrhage money and at least get some pleasure from a car again.
  14. yep i dont think its easy to spot them anymore.i just take it easy on the roads these days.
  15. Ford RS Mexico guys i might bring the IS200 to this event.ive been looking at the quite narrow course tonight on youtube and i dont feel the M3 would be suited to that type of event.what do you guys think?i think the auto IS would be alot more fun. was watching one of Dave's laps,he seems to be preoccupied with some japanese woman http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=E5Vhc0yn8Qk can i borrow the M3 then yeah no problem bazza.can i bring both cars to this event?got me thinkin.im bringing Chris to this event.he could drive my IS up there and i could change the car if i felt the track would be more fun in the IS.its just ive been having loads of fun with my new falkens on the IS and feel they grip really well on twisty roads and its alot easier to chuck about cos of lighter steering.hmmm.yeah bazza you can use the M3 if you want.
  16. im shocked that this situation is on going.Adie please dont continue the pain mate, cash in and get yourself an RS4 B7 model or a skyline and you wont look back.eats practically everything on the road and would be a pleasure to modify with approx £3k for coilovers and exhaust-job done. All this heartache with no results.I know it may not be what you want to hear but give it up fella. If its taken them this long to get not very far,you can pretty much estimate the date of completion to be when youre ready to collect from your pension fund.cars are becoming fantastically cheap with the latest credit squeeze,so save up your pennies cos there are some rich pickings to be had on many uk forecourts, ive got my eye on a Z4M on an 06 plate with less than 9k miles on the clock and ive nearly got the dealer down to £20k.Thats a 350bhp car with a 2 year manufacturer warranty from a bmw dealer.I recently calculated that my total cost for modding the M3 has been £17k,so when its put into perspective, modifying cars is a millionaires habit.
  17. iphone 3g and it can be very annoying.mines been repaired once and replaced once.each time its gone wrong, its been first thing in the morning and ive woken to find the iphone blank with a message stating, repair needed. If it happens again im banning all apple products from my house-including the fruit. my best phone ever was the nokia 9500.big bugger but it was great in terms of usability and was also good when used as a weapon against people stealing my mars bars from the secret draw.

  20. if i was there,i dont think id be looking at the cars.
  21. was stopped a few weeks back by an unmarked black 5 series estate with 2 officers who were not very pleased with me.In the end i got away with just a bollocking but it was all very intimidating. They went over my car with a fine comb(not literally).but they investigated the missing interior and all the mods on the car including the charger. They checked all my details and found an irregularity with my insurance details,it was simply a clerical spelling error by the insurer but they gave me a bollocking for that too, stating its my responsibility to make sure my details are correct. They claimed i was doing over a ton but they claimed they couldnt get a reading(i felt that was a lie,but didnt want to argue with them, incase they produced evidence).I followed them as they zoomed off and i did notice the long CB type aerial.I find many of them are volvo's lurking around the birmingham area near the M6.
