  1. Based on my opinion, can't say that it's a particularly nice design! Saying that, i quite like the design of the Maserati Kyalami. For an older model i think this has far more charisma! If none of you know what it looks like and you want to give your two pence worth on this older design, then... http://simurl.com/najsep
  2. I've heard some stories about these Hillbillies! Do be careful! It seems like you were quite lucky with the po-lice officer- how did you manage to get out of a speeding ticket??!
  3. I am also in the same boat and searching for a digital camera. A very good web site is http://www.cameras.co.uk/ to see any reviews. The quality of camera very much depends on your price range. My shortlist after weeks of reading reviews are teh canon ixus 60 (c. £190) and the canon ixus 750 (c.£220). I have been recommended the ixus 60 on the basis of price, pixels and quality by a teacher of digital photography. Good luck
  4. as the saying goes 'sell in May then go away'. I still like to find good bargains - and there are a few about. I do not see this as an abnormal market, in which we run into prolonged Bear territory. What is more likely is a 1994 equivalent when, share prices in some stocks drifted, some went down and selectively others rise. As i've said good stock picking is needed.
  5. If anyone has read today's Times, there is an interesting article on market sentiment by a well known fund manager. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/newspaper/0,,...2196025,00.html My feeling - summer volatility should not surprise anyone. The downturn could drag on a bit. Good stock picking skills is what is needed to see one through the summer.
  6. That could very well mean good buying opportunities if this is the correction we've been waiting for or if the market continues to fall - good shorting positions. Habeeb - nice summary.
  7. For urgent work you might want to try a place called Jems in NW9 - i found them very quick and very good. Worth a try if you are in need of work so soon - always worth a call http://www.jemservice.co.uk/ Thanks. I have placed a call with them. At the very least they have a bearing in stock for less than 60 quid. I walked into a nationwide autocentre today, and asked the guy if he could do the bearing. He sighed and said it's quite a NEW car to be doing, but he would get back to me with prices. Whilst leaving, the 18 year old mechanics in the workshop were mucking around with a customer's car and bolts seemed to be flying everywhere... If you've ever used Jemca (in the same area) you may know that Jems was started up by the person who started up Jemca. Mention that you used them in the past and you saw Jemca's service get worse (even if you didn't/haven't used them!) you may find that they become extra helpful! Good luck.

  9. The only gambling I've ever done was in Las Vegas a few years back. Got a $10 free bet when staying at the hotel. Managed to win the cost of staying at the hotel by playing roulette!! When passing me the chips he expressed a view that explains a typical gamblers day by saying "good day for you ..bad day for me!" No one likes to lose - especially the house. A good gambler knows when to walk away. Recently, I went to a casino just off Park Lane - it is there you realise that some people have more money than sense. However, I suppose you only say it's a mugs game if you are at the losing end!! Know your limits and know your bank balance before you play!
  10. In terms of what amount is "normal" to ask for is really diffiicult to answer. As a rule of thumb I have always asked for something that i feel i can justify asking for, because if you don't ask, you don't get! You ought to question whever you are happy or not in your present position? What are you looking for at 'the top'? Also it depends very much on the size of the company and what their ambitions are. It may be more sensible to take other benefits than take a slightly higher salary. I know what it is like in my field of work but I am not sure what it is like in your field - so all of what i have said is rather subjective. Hope this give you a little help. If you are looking at the moment - good luck. S
