TERMINATOR

today i took the 2002 mk2 for a test drive usual smooth quiet drive the heat shield was loose but easy fix. The question is that when pumping the footbrake repeatedly the brake/abs and no abs warning light came on followed by an audible warning sound. Is this normal or am i just paranoid about this master cylinder ? Anyone with a mint mk2,try it n let me know pls.

I an going to buy another gs 2002 mk2 with 80k but i an being put off by scare stories as there seems to be a costly and major fault with the brake master cylinder. Has anyone any ideas of how to check this and if it just occurs can this part be bought and installed cheaper than using a lexus franchised dealership? if it can be bought cheaper, then from where and cost etc? Any other advice on any other thing to check would be gratefully appreciated thanks.

My next vehicle will be either a range rover sport a lexus ls or a bmw 7 series depending on funds,but will end up with a ford ka ha ha.

I have bought most of my cars from lexus edinburgh and returned when requiring a service or sale,the service from the sales staff and service staff has always been second to none. I recently made another purchase from lexus coventry and i would thoroughly recommend them,they have been very helpfull and have went over and above normal customer service to retain my business. If you use lexus edinburgh ask for scott gammie and he will put you on to a salesman or ask for leon or lambros from coventry. COMPLETE SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.

Have you tried all the major uk wheel suppliers like mswuk or elite direct who bring wheels in from the states or try tsw uk. These companys supply wheels to the trade.

OK, this is the conclusion for you. Today I had the call from Lexus & it was much as has been discussed. Lexus acknowledge that my year is not what they would consider ideal. They blame the dealers concerned for everything, accept no responsibility, moral or otherwise, they happily accepted a couple of useful proposals as to how they could improve matters & have offered to ask the new local dealer principal to contact me to try & build bridges. As this comes from the highest level in Lexus I must say it's left me thinking Lexus really don't give a damn about their end users at all. It one thing to agree that matters aren't right, it quite another to wash your hands of those (agreed as wrong) issues, even if there is future business stake & blame the middle man for everything. LEXUS ARE YOU LISTENING? NO? I DIDN'T THINK SO. Bottom line, there will not be another Lexcus, or Toyota at this home - ever. Lexus needs to appreciate that listening to a customer's concnerns "so I can understand" isn't going to cut it alone - we can all listen & make the right noises. But in the end it takes more than that if you're going to invest around £70,000 of hard earned in a company's products. As it is, well if I'm asked about my car my the curious in the car park (Hybrids tend to do that) I'll have to be honest...... "Nice car, crap dealer service & couldn't care less attitude by the manufacturer - buy one at your own risk" Oh & by the way, the distinct impression I had was that we minions don't count in the Lexus Master Plan, they are more interested in their ongoing trails with dealers to improve sales, set standards (what standards, what b*****ks!) & so on - the individual customer doesn't come into it...... And..... (rant nearly over) the director I spoke knew precisely what my business intersts were - & basically overlooked it - BIG MISTAKE - on Monday I have to sit down with one of the companies of which I am a investor/partner. The agenda includes replacing the company cars they run, currently Jaguar X-Types & S-Types. The local dealer has closed, a family business that couldn't make it through the current economic climate - they are seriously considering Lexus IS & GS models - not while I'm an investor they won't. There's a good Merc agent locally & another Jag agent 10 miles away - that nice little earner will go there in April, sorry Lexus you've got a loose cannon out here now - all for want of some acceptance of corporate responsibilty. What a dud lot. Sorry again to hear of the intorelable service. I purchased a car two weeks ago from lexus coventry and the car was not up to the standards i expect from lexus in terms of bodywork. I travelled from glasgow to buy the car and only noticed the imperfections when i was home and washed the car. I called and spoke to the sales manager who contacted the dp and i received a call to arrange transport of my car to one of the companies bodyshops,including a courtesey car, new alloy wheels and the car returned perfect with no fuss. That is what i call lexus service. I would also like to say,i have purchased several cars from lexus edinburgh also and any/all issues with the car even out of warranty were dealt with perfectly. I have had about 34 cars since i bought my first new car in 1995. 5 lexuses,2 mercs,3 bmws and numerous other marques and i always go back to lexus because nothing matches them. I would return to the dealers willing to go over and above there normal duties and i would suggest sticking to lexus but go to a recommended dealer by someone on this forum. If you are going to buy a lot of fleet cars negotiate a paid service plan for the 3 years.

I am sorry to hear of your bad experience. I have bought 2 gs300's and an is from lexus edinburgh and have to say my experiences from this dealership has been second to none. I have recently bought a used approved rx and travelled over 300 miles, to pick the car up and the condition of the car was not what i have experienced from a reputable dealer.The dealer has agreed to pick my car up, fix it and return it including a courtesy car. That is what lexus are about.

I have decided to buy an rx but the dealer mentioned that there was only two keys,one master key and one plip key. Is this standard or is there normally 2 plip keys and a master ? and if so does it have to be provided by the retailing lexus dealer on purchase. Thanks.

DONE IT. Thank f***. I went to a couple of local garages i know and got the largest impact gun "no joy". Called in a few favours and got hold of a 2000llb/ft torque gun and fannys ure aunt its off. Thanks for all ure advice.

I have been at it all day and still nothing. I have broken a brand new snap on impact wrench and the 1000llb/ft torque gun is not touching it. I have coated it in wd40 overnight. any help would be appreciated i don't want to snap the bolt.

I usually get this done at a local garage but i am going to attempt is myself,the only thing is i am unsure as how to gain access to the rear upper strut from inside the car. Do you need to remove the rear seats ?. Any help would be appreciated. Meant to add it is a mk 2

thanks i have been offered a sat nav centre console for £400. it is only the water i'm worried about.

I want to buy a 1999 ls400 but when i went to see it the boot was full of water and fungus growing on the spare wheel. Is there any problems with the rest of the car rusting due to the water ingress. The satelite navigation is also pure white nothing on it and none of the audio equipment works. Please help. any advice greatfully appreciated.

I have decided to give up my gs. I have owned an is200se and 2 gs300's and now i feel that i have to let it go due to increased family and high running costs. you could be talking an increase of 15/20bhp dependant on the chip or remap and better fuel efficiency.

Where in the uk chips gs300's and what power increase does it give? anyone have any ideas? thank you.
