  1. Greetings from the land of Smiles! I tried the 300C Hemi and the CRD. The Hemi is a Hell of a car. Downsides: Plastic Steering wheel!! Plastic Arm rest plastic Dash Only One interior Trim (from the factory at least) Upsides: If you have driven the Hemi you understand the true meaning of "Muscle Car". Its not the powerful car I've ever driven. But it has a undeniable presence. I had no intention of buying as I already had my ticket to LOS but I wanted the memory of such a sensation. It was an hour well spent. I'd OWN a Lexus everytime though.
  2. How about 2000hp? superchargers LS400 V8 is Wally Larson's LE-1 Groundfighter. That what you had in mind?
  3. Must be the case. Why else would he send a goldy looking chain wearing chav Barsteward careering into my perfectly nice BMW last night resulting in what most have said is likely to be a write off? out of nowhere the pranock T-Bones me on a round-a-bout and want me to say its my fault. :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: Not happy. But I guess it might just be G ods way of saying, "Dude, I want you in an LS400/430". Glad I am off Snowboarding in Sunday and will have a week or so to get over the irritation. Hope you all have a better start to the weekend. oh... and I quite fancy an M5 but they don't do them in auto... have to be an Alpina B10 v8S :winky:
  4. They make the most collectable VW Campers so it would stand to reason that it would be towbar associated.
  5. Cup holders are great but I wonder how they cope in the US with the Big Gulp Cup??? Anyone seen "The Weatherman" yet. It rocks.
  6. yeah , read about it in the Sunday times last week. seems a good idea.. I'll sign up when I am less tired and don't have a bed to make...
  7. No, but it does have a button called "Rest" If you've been driving in the cold wet british climate and you should happen to stop for fuel or whatever when you get out of the car, press the button and if the car is warmed up, it will blow warm air into the car while its off until there is no more heat and then it shuts off. between 5 and ten mins... Not sure if you can do that in a Lex... Stops the car from misting up if you leave the kids in it on a wet day while you refuel. or if you left animals in the car etc.. or if you just want to come back to a toasty warm car! anyway, straying
  8. Sorry to be finiky but if you had posted this... instead of a link I could have wasted sightly less of my employers time looking... nice car but crud build quality. wouldn't touch one with yours. S.
  9. NO Badge snobery there then! Good call. Don't think I have the self confidence to pull that off yet. But hope to one day. Salute you!
  10. Its a good question. I had a rear wheel drive turbo charged sports car last year for a bit of fun and it did ask to be driven with respect. I think its easy to overlook and thus over cook it in cars with too many gizmos. I know that I can drive a car without them. But I know I would not drive as fast sometimes... They have made some of us lazy, I agree.
  11. I think looking at Andy's in the other thread, this is as much a modern classic as the E34 M5 BMW is and the E39 will become!
  12. I think the tyre dressing is a great little touch too! look wet to the touch! Niiiiiiice
  13. just realised I've been compared to a 12 year old girl. Thats not good seeing as I HAVE my own 12 year old girl (and boy - matching set!).
  14. VW Pheaton!! What a great car with that W12 Engine Straight out of a Bentley Continental Flying Spur!!! Get in!!!!!
  15. well so long as the roads are right I think I could live with it... and yes I know they build new roads... Ah, buggerit! Seems I just can't win with these cars...
  16. unless you get the V8 engine.... but I agree. I looked at an S Type in BRG with CReam interior and Auto before I bought my Bimmer. I just knew it would not last the same... Not comparable to a Lexus... No sir! have you seen the way the A post rot. find a 4 year old S type and look at the base of the A post on drivers door. Always rusty unless garaged all its life...
  17. I think there are many but one thing that sets the LS apart from its rivals is the little details and my favourite little detail at the moment is the way the back door window is one peice of glass. I defy you to find another luxury sedan that has not gone for the standard two peice window. Lexus rewrite the book on another little detail. Anyone else noticed that? So what is your favourite quirk, if you will?
  18. no, no viewing this weekend at all. not to gutted though. got time to find the right one now as you say! You might try the "second Chance" offer on ebay with your recond highest bidder... always worth a punt. I'll be looking at my financial picture in March and will see if I can justify the spend on a "project car. This new boy Phil who has posted, has yet to come back to me re his MOT failed car...
  19. The Suspense is almost too much to bare!!! :duh: damn! thought it might just get snatched away this time!! still. 4500 was not bad money... With better pics and listed in a week or two it might be time to part company... pics of the service record and reciepts are always popular...
  20. I have a friend who is a millionaire and he drives around in a blue one that would struggle to hold a candle to yours. They are great cars though! I'm getting all misty again...
