  1. Yeah please tell us how you got on. obviously I'm in the market for a lexus and although it's a bitch for you, your post may have taught me something and saved me. if i was you though, i'd want either my money or a different car back, because that just is not right
  2. sure I've seen that somewhere before. not keen on the pictures that are going on there!
  3. still waiting for my accident compensation to pay out, but been browsing about (window shopping). Saw a yellow one in cardiff the other day and was so tempted to stick a note on their window with my number asking if they wanted to sell it!
  4. thing is though, people tend to write feedback straight away. if you go to pick it up and you get the feeling something isn't right etc, you don't have to buy it, he'll just give you ******* feedback.
  5. I get my dad to check mine over, but if I was buying privately, I'd definitely back it up with one of those rac warrantys though. But I'm sure most garrages would check alot of things anyway, as it will only cost them on their warrantys/reputation. Not sure if all of them have that much sennse though!
  6. I'd go in there and make a massive fuss in front of everyone, they'll soon be willing to negotiate.
  7. Well, not really. went to a local garrage the other day, but they only had one. it was so nice. totally perfect not a mark anywhere, but was quite new and had really low mileage, which automatically took it out of my price range. The guy said that if I had gone there a week earlier there would have been four! I'm not in any major rush, as I am waiting for compensation from a previous car accident before I can buy it. also I want to sort out a slight misfire on my megane before I sell it. At the moment I'm not in any major rush. I'm not going to buy a car unless i'm 100% happy with it, but don't really want to loose too much money on the megane while I'm waiting. I'll still be sad to see it go. i'll probably cry too!
  8. just went to see one. i was impressed by the interrior etc, and the car was stunning, not a mark anywhere. It was probably a bit too far out of my price range, and an automatic (which I don't really want), but has impressed me further. Looks quite big though, which considering my driving is ... scary!
  9. I'm going to go and have a look today. see whats about etc and maybe test drive (but I doubt it). There's apparently 2 in the garrage closest to me, so probably worth checking out!
  10. and how much petrol does it take to fill the tank?
  11. 50% m'way and 50% a roads and built up areas. try my best to avoid traffic, so think i'm ok there!
  12. Especially looking forward to the light thing. Seen a sticker somewhere to go in the back window saying "fitted with lexus lights as standard" or something like that. will definitely be getting one of them! I've heard alot of negative points about fuel economy. I do a fair amount of driving (average 35 miles a day) is it really going to be that noticeable. although, right now I do think my mind is pretty much made up to get one, and if I do end up not liking it for whatever reason then I can always sell it
  13. yay!!! by how many years? how old is the youngest. seriously though, if all does go to plan I'll be on here posting pics and asking silly questions etc
  14. there's no need for that. it's minging
  15. I don't really know what I need to be honest. I'm not going to be able to go for the is300 though, because I'm 21 and have only been driving 2 and a half years. Im just going to start my research, so I know everything I want on it, that way i'll be happier when I get it
  16. small world. live about 5 miles from there
  17. very close actually. a place called caldicot
  18. I live kind of in between the two bridges. I'm not too botherd about speed at the moment anyway, so that isn't really gonna be an issue, especially as my megane is a 1.6. I'm a bit worried about test driving (don't like driving anything that isn't mine!). I'd rather do it once I've found one, then my dad will have a proper look and everything
  19. i think it's the only car i like which has both the looks and a good reputation. For some reason most of the cars i like just haven't got the good reputation. like the mr2's but not the mx5s. not driven an is yet (i'll be gutted if i do and can't drive it!). I think it's definitely my top choice though. the more I think about it, the more I want one
  20. i do want one, just a bit nervous about changing cars etc. I probably would've gone for an mgtf above it though if they were reliable and didn't look like you'd die from having a small accident in one!
  21. well, I remember when I was learning to drive i wanted one then for the looks. but i've taken on my dads advice. he said never to get a renault (or any other french car) he was right there and the lexus seems to have his approval. I'd feel much better in a reliable car also, because I've found that constantly feeling theres something not right get's almost depressing. it was the top gear survey thing that made me think alot more seriously about it though
  22. think it is top of my list. haven't had this car long. my last car was a megane, but it got written off. it was my 1st car and I was sentimentally attached to it and had to have another, but I've had this one less than a year, so wanted to keep it a year before selling it as it's had lots of owner changes for the age. has anyone had any accidents in theirs? was wondering how well they hold up etc
  23. ha! no. it's a megane coupe! I really like it, but I just can't be botherd with the worry of making it home from work everyday!
  24. cheers for that. it seems that nobody who's had one has a bad word to say about them, which is good, because as much as I like my car that I have at the moment, I would never advise anyone to buy one!
  25. hiya, I was wondering if you could help me. I'm seriously thinking about getting an is200 within the next six months. I was just wondering if there are any faults and how people generally rate them (especialy reliability). thanks very much cathy
