  1. I have solar and was looking at Zappi. I’m not sure if there is a minimum power the car will accept also the winter months aren’t so great for solar. But obv good if you can charge in the summer. I have a battery on order for the excess solar as I’m fed up giving it to the grid for next to nothing then buying it back!
  2. Good for you 🙂 No news on mine as yet. have you decided which charger to have fitted yet?
  3. Do you have a date for yr Niro Shahpor?
  4. A few reasons for me…. I wanted a realistic range of more than 200 miles. Overall size (my son is over 6’ and still growing 😕 ) in hindsight it would have been an option when all the incentives were still there. Also the lead times on cars with some over a year at present.
  5. Toyota cancelled my test drive and then increased the price of the BZ4x by around £2k making the base model go up from £41,950 to £43,780. The KIA is around £7k cheaper for the base Niro EV ‘2’ with the higher spec ‘4’ model still cheaper than the base BZ4. I also looked at other models too. I even considered a 2016/17 Tesla with free charging for life (but a little concerned about the build quality and reliability of a 5 yr old car with asking prices of over £35k)
  6. Orange flame with black C pillar. I was offered the grey interior (starting to wonder where the dealers are getting their information.) personal loan a cheaper option than KIA. (Worth checking)
  7. Same Niro EV 4 Ordered the 30th June to get in b4 price increase. Told it will be Dec. they advised against the heat pump (I was on the fence on that)
  8. New/New My car, although I’m still driving it was written off in 2018 and no dealer would offer on it. And there are little in the way of scrappage schemes right now. I'm going down the EV route with KIA. I cover around 100 miles a day for work so EV will save £1-2 k a year at current costs. The UX was off the table due to being too cramped and poor range as well as the cost of it was more than I felt it was worth. still love my IS though. I doubt I will ever have another car like it for reliability.
  9. Well after being here (not as often over the last few years) for 20 yrs I have put a deposit down on a new car. I looked at 2nd hand GS/IS but the current 2nd hand prices are, in my mind, far too high. I’m not sure What I’m going to do with my IS. it’s been with me for so long….and it’s probably worth more in parts than selling it as it is.
  10. So I'm going to see if I can get my car through another MOT (Even though it had a bash erlier in the year. The ABS and TRC light is on so I replaced those 2 and the fault is still there. after finding a OBD2 that would read the car its reporting a rear speed sensor (Right/Offside ) failure.... I have yet to take the wheel off and check but.... Anyone know where i might get one?
  11. Thanks for replies all. Dinho.....that's pretty much where I'm at. The spare is a little squashed so needs a little work there. I've been told I need to have another MOT done to its roadworthy.
  12. Well after owning my Lex for close to 16 yrs someone decided not to stop behind me.😣 So it's a cat N write off.....The question I have to ask myself is do I keep her and get it fixed? (Rear bumper and a little rear panel work required). If anyone has any experience of this please let me know. I have no idea what I'd replace it with TBH...
  13. Hmmm......tough choice :) Although parts quality may be a question to ask. Cheers for the reply.
  14. Hmmm Damn I feel Old. nice to see some old names still around. I dont come on the site much....as you can see. The kids keep me busy. Still have my IS and still think its a great car to drive, even compared to a lot of new cars. I dont get to clean it as often as I'd like (used to do it weekly) And I dont know what other forum the others are talking of???
  15. Yes I am still around.....just not a lot.......

  16. WIM stock Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas. Just did a post simmilar to this on another thread....
  17. Michelin are a good allrounder and do last well. My last set lasted 30k and only had to change them as they started to de-laminate through age. They say that they do still offer rim protection, but by the make up of the tyre rather than a visible rim strip. I just put a set Dunlop SportMax TT on my Lex and these have great rim protection and grip well. But I have to say that for grip you cant go wrong with Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta, great value and fantastic grip...but i have no idea how long they will last. Try having a look at www.tyrereviews.co.uk.
  18. Are Toyota GT over in hook still going? 01252845645 I think they are a LOC supporter....so you might get discount.
  19. Usually manage 400-450 a from full to warning light....works out around 33MPG. Most driving is 70 down M3/M25/A3. 60miles a day.
  20. I dont get to the forum too often now (as I am sure a few have noticed....NOT :) ) Just dont get the time nowadays....... Anyway...HI CHRIS :)...and everyone else..........I hope you are all well........... Rob
