  1. Stash the money in an account and let it earn interest. In the unlikely event of a problem you have it there waiting. If you do want an extended warranty, shop around a bit rather than go through Lexus.
  2. I think you better check the cost of Insurance for going down the Turbo/SC routes too!
  3. Bit late....but welcome to LOC. Enjoy the car. Rob
  4. Hi Nick, I am in Camberley, so not a problem for me. Would be nice to chat to a few Merc owners........ Cheers Rob
  5. what about re upholstered interior....no idea what this might cost though. I think it has been done in the past.
  6. you may still find that the greenstuff pads give you less brakedust coating your alloys.
  7. Very true, but seeing as the world is in an money crisis its a bit hard to tell whats the next step if for car tax. I hope it stays as K-band..! P.S. bobski, do u have rear LED clusters on ur car..? or perhaps a black lexus with multispoke rims..? Fraid mine looks pretty much standard Royal Sapphire with sport grille.....Just a LEX plate to break from the norm. :)
  8. Only thing that would make me pause is the thought that that dark cloud of a possibly nasty TAX grouping..............They are (I believe) in Band K but this may go up and then you would be hammered for TAX to the tune of over £400 a year. If they leave it as it is then you will be paying around 210ish.
  9. Nice. I might be going for an oil burner at some point soon and a Beemer will probably be the one i go for. I dont think anyone can come close to what they offer .... most other mfrs struggle to get 45 mpg from far smaller cars. So are you still going to lurk around the Lex forums or go to the dark side completely?
  10. Sport........... SE is just a SPORT wannabe.....LMAO :)
  11. Maxi-Cosi Priory XP Didnt bother with the Isofix...just bought 2 of the fixed versions (mine isnt the main car). Great seat and came highly rated in Tests and seams to fit well ( I use a seat pad under the seat also). I have checked mine over and cant see how this belt crunch mentioned in other threads may happen. I will look into it though. Rob
  12. Its like a bloody great dark cloud of wonder.........is this a permanent (band K) reprieve, or just a stay of execution waiting to hammer ppl when the time is right and bang those post march 2001 cars back into the higher tax band. WHO KNOWS......!

    Tyres

I'd Say 1 and 2. I want a tyre that has good grip in both wet and dry, be nice to be quiet and have a fair life too. (Yeah I want the world too) I did have Michelin Sports, but they were going to fail the MOT........(Tyres were splitting around the circumference....) Ended up getting 2xDunlop Sport 9000s fitted (not my personal choice, but I dont think are too bad a tyre)
  14. May still be just a stay of execution...... Taken from AA link The most significant difference compared to the proposals announced in the March 2008 budget is that cars emitting over 225g/km and first registered between 1 March 2001 and 23 March 2006 will now go into band 'K', at least until 2010/11. Under the previous proposals these cars would have moved into band 'L' or 'M' depending on official CO2 emissions.
  15. Sorry to go a Bit off topic but my other half suffered a shock from her set of GHDs last year (She was 7 moths pregnant at the time) The lead had just split in half where it meets the "protective" plastic sheath close to the handle..........GHD called this "Wear and Tear" (Complete Carp) They are great straighteners, but I wouldnt say built to the best standard. This was an earlier model, so I hope they build them better now. Again, Sorry to go off topic.
  16. Was going to also mention alignment. If you are thinking it cant be (as the other pics are fine) just watch watchdog on BBCi from last night (Mon Dec 1st)......they had a number of ppl who could not watch Satanta, turned out it was the dish.
  17. Sorry late for this m8.......I hope you had a great day..........only 363 to go now...... :)
  18. Toyota GT are just off the M3 around J5 I believe. Give them a call.
  19. Last year LEXUS were giving Free membership for those who had their cars serviced through main dealers.....was this a one time deal or was it for as long as the services were carried out by Lexus? Anyone recall??
  20. On the whole...not a bad chap at all ! Well done Wozza.....A fitting tribute
  21. Happy Birthday Baz. What's the secret to old age then :)
