  1. Hope you have had a good day.
  2. I have been with Admiral (and its sister companies) for a few years. No they don't like to insure cars with MODs, but they are by far the cheapest insurer (at least for me) beating all other quotes by over 100 GBP. I have on one occasion had to make a claim and they were very good dealing with it. Never found them shirty at all. I do go around every year and get new quotes come insurance time, but other Co's always want to go way OTT both on the quote and Excess. It has stopped me getting an SC, but TBH if you want the power get an IS300, and save money on the insurance.
  3. How much time do you need? Enough time to check my rear pads and possibly look at replacing them if poss (and with your agreement). I was thinking ."hmmm could paint the calipers" But then thought about poss spillage and your new floor, as well as taking a little more time than it sounds like i would have.
  4. Reminded me......I have a set of the chrome ones I got years back.... Wonder if I'll ever get round to putting them on . ;)
  5. Are both lifts now taken for the day?
  6. I was thinking of doing this myself for my rear pads...but wondered if it might be a bit off as WIM offer a brake service?
  7. Add me pls.......I'll try not to bring the baby wagon this time :)
  8. BBCLINK Taken from BBC.... Speculation is mounting about a rethink of plans to increase road tax after ministers insisted Alistair Darling "is listening" to concerns on the issue. You might have a smug moment yet!
  9. Do you need a Brake Caliper Re Wind Set to replace the rear pads? or is it a special Toyota only tool?
  10. I now do a stint on the M-ways every day to get to work and getting 350+ to a tank. I am lucky for the moment that I can claim a fuel allowance from the company as it is not my usual place of work. This is currently 40p pm for the first 10k then 25p pm thereafter. Although this sounds ok it is to cover fuel and all wear and tear on the car (devaluation/increased service costs/tyres/insurance etc). Interestingly though this figure was set out by Inland Rev in 2003/4 when fuel was less then 80p/l. Think its about time they updated the figure!
  11. Gonna be steap on tax though :) 440 then 455
  12. R - Aug 1997 - July 1998 S - Aug 1998 - Feb 1999 T - Mar 1999 - Aug 1999 V - Sep 1999 - Feb 2000 W - Mar 2000 - Aug 2000 X - Sep 2000 - Feb 2001 Y - Is from Mar 2001 - Aug 2001 So always did include all vehicles from Y reg. Shame as I was always thinking of getting an IS300 rather than an putting an SC in mine. That wont be happening now though. They really have killed off the 2nd hand market for a lot of cars. tosspots
  13. Lil worse than that..... # Manual: 233 g/km # Automatic: 239 g/km Review Centre
  14. The subject has been brought up on LOC a number of times since the budget. Dont know why it has taken the papers so long to clock it.
  15. Yr SC wont help the quote. A lot of insurers wont touch cars with that mod. The Adrian Flux 1 isnt bad, but what is the Excess?
  16. Yeah cheers for that kinda smug comment mate, Sorry, I wasnt trying to be "smug" in any way whatsoever. Where all I did was to point out that if he wishes to buy an IS he does have an alternative in regards to tax.
  17. Buy a pre March 2001 model. Tax is 200 not over 400....also congestion charge is the lower band too.
  18. The silver detracts from the chronograph effect of the clocks. The darker carbon looks ok though.
  19. Stand corrected :) Was it also the same on post 2001 models without the silver surround? BTW not keen on the silver surround myself.
  20. Happy Birthday. Enjoy the day.....it may be you wont get another chance to relax after you open.
  21. I think the gauge is in the same position, just that the needle goes in the other direction. It prob does read better/easier having the needle go up instead of down......but there you go.
  22. I believe its not for rust where it is appearing due to the like of stonechips. More for perforation and rusting from the inside out etc.
  23. Just amend Top loading CD player from late 2000 not 2001. Still wouldnt call any changes made to the IS over the years "facelift" B) A facelift usually means more cosmetic body style changes than the IS ever went through. Just my opinion though.
  24. I ban Mole......cos they are a pain in the aris and make holes!
