  1. We can rebuild it!..... :) Mere flesh wound.
  2. You can trawl through the forum and there is a lot of info out there if you search for it. There wern't really any facelifts as such for the IS. 1999-late 2000 - S,SE,Sport - CD-CHANGER at bottom only drivers seat electric (if fitted). late 2000 - revised CD-Changer now with CD at the top, both front seats electric (if fitted). late 2001 - CD Sat Nav now DVD and controls for Nav more integrated in console. around 2002 - slight changes made to interior trim and poss rear light integrated into rear spoiler on the sport. 2002/3 ish 50 bright yellow IS200s came in (think they were sports) 2004 the LE - HID lamps, full leather and another colour but basically SE spec. later models came with Nav standard All this is off top of my head and dates are prob a lil general. but im sure more of the guys (and girls) will add.
  3. Don't know if I have said it before, but all the best for the business Tony. I hope to come see you when you are open........ Will you be offering good rates on tyres too? Rob
  4. I might think about putting the car in 1 month early. Reason being that if they find any problems then it will be under the 3yr warranty, and the MOT wont be effected as they can be made out to be valid from the due date rather than the issue date. Check your wheels for corrosion and get any changed (last chance) Just a suggestion
  5. Ahhh....you need to reset one of the trip functions on fillup, and then know you have to subtract this from around 300 miles. :)
  6. You might want to think twice before going to any meets! We will all want to be taken for a spin :) PS...me first :P
  7. My IS200 is Dec 2000, so is exempt from the £25 per day charge due to there not being details for vehicles pre march 2001 (yeah go figure!)...still would pay the £8. The rule for the new charge also says any vehicle reg before Mar 01 with an engine below 3000cc. Its the same for Tax - Pre mar01 IS200s are a little cheaper as they come under the Above/below 1500cc rule. Crazy!
  8. Spose that puts me in the same boat.... LEX 2***. Why do ppl put on bodykits etc..........they want to stand out? On the plus side........no increase on my insurance, it stands out...and unless you know the car you dont know its age. When it comes to selling, I would put it on retention and try to sell it on, or it will be a good selling point.
  9. No worries Geoffers. Of course you must come first. Glad to see you back on the forums. All the Best Rob
  10. pretty sure you only have to make sure your cd is in the same place......early models had cd at bottom of unit.
  11. What course of action would Owners take who have the OEM CD/DVD nav units?
  12. There was a few of us interested in setting up a reverse camera a while back....actually bloody ages ago. :) dont know if many still would be?
  13. Well i guess you need a sense of humour if you own a BX :)
  14. I'm glad the car went to a LOC member. Its one i thought about, but with me now covering around 300 miles a week, prob not the best choice. Good luck with the car, i hope you enjoy it, and keep your license too :)
  15. Just wondering if the US prices also include local and state taxes. A friend over there mentioned these are added to the base price, so you might feel a little better at the comparison. BTW.....why do you think US companies call the UK Treasure Island!
  16. I bet if you look around a lot of lexus cars (up until last year at least) you will find Toyota stamped on parts........take a look at the rear light lenses. :)
  17. I got mine for just under 50 from local dealership. No problem......and it has a 3yr warranty.
  18. Try Lexus Owners Club > General Lexus Forums > Lexus General Maintenance its not grumpy, just polite not to use uppercase all the time. As for an answer to your question, ask your local stealer for a price and compare. I have found with my dealer i get a loan car whilst in for a service and also they now give me a years free RAC cover, that on its own is around £100. Oh and they give it a decent clean inside and out too.
  19. I usually get around 340-360 a tank, but I'm hoping to better that now im doing longer Main road runs. I think i get better mileage using Shell Vpower......trouble is the cost of filling the tank :(
  20. I fitted green stuff pads......work fine and a LOT less dust on the alloys.
  21. After 2001 they fitted the smoked version to all but silver cars (which remained the clearer style) Some owners changed to the smoked versions themselves. All you need do is buy and 10 mins each to fit. So to answer your question......there is no reason to think the car has been in an accident. If you are worried you should get the car fully checked by RAC/AA and they will be able to tell you if the car has been resprayed/repaired. There were no actual "Facelifts" of the IS - a facelift is a bit more than a few minor modifications. The Only major differing IS200 was the Limited Edition - Had HID Lamps and full leather interior. A search through the forums will give more info.
  22. Have you contacted a Lexus dealer at all?
