  1. Me, as an owner, don't care whos issue it is, I just care, that citroen C5 for half money has autolocking and my lexus doesn't - but it is possible in the US, so it's just software problem. I don't get the point, I see just stupidity from Lexus Europe. Another reason not to buy another one! Possibly BMW next for me. The car itself is great apart from the rattles, the annoying nanny features and the lack of ability to control things like auto locking etc. The so called Excellent Customer service doesn't really exist!
  2. Is that a scratch or a crack? The whole under lip comes off by removing six self tapping screws, and yes it's in two halves...I have a complete one in a box in my garage, but it's in Cadoxton Slate. Looks as if it's dragged the one half forward. The lip also has several locating tongues which fit in the front sill and undertray. It's a crack. I had to force it back. Did you buy the one you have? How much did it cost?
  3. Parked to far over a curb and lip under bumper got caught on the way off. Didn't hear any scraping when I drove over it but obviously got caught on the way off Any ideas of the cost of repairs? Hopefully just the lower lip can be replaced. Also looks like it is in two halves. I bet they wont sell just one half.
  4. I really like the IS250 as a car and the main reason I went with it over the BMW 3 is the dash styling. However I don't think I'll be buying another Lexus. This will be my first and last. The interior build quality is just mickey mouse. Some parts creak if you lean your leg against them. Some switches are now slightly loose. I have been back to the dealers 4 times and can't be bothered any more. I'm getting more and more rattles/creaks over potholes as the car gets older. Went for a ride in a freinds 1yr old 3 series the other day and it was a silent as a mouse. All the loan IS's i've had have also had creak/rattle problems. This shouldn't be the case on a 30k car.
  5. Jamboo What about when driving over potholes/very rough roads etc. Is it still quiet as a mouse? Mine isnt. Am i being to picky? PS - I thought you weren't going to waste any more time on these forums :P :P
  6. My last car was a pug. Never again. Was in the garage every three months with Anitpollution fault etc on the dash. Warranty ended and they wanted £800 to replace piston valve tappets.Among various other costly repairs Car had only done 15k. Complete joke. Obvoiusly a manufacturing fault. Will never buy a French car again.
  7. Finally got my IS250 today, heres a picture of the boot and petrol opening buttons. When speaking to the dealer the Traction Control Button is different, I can post an image if you want to see. Scott Whats happened to the rattle button :winky: :winky:
  8. I would have thought you've got a good many years before the IS250 was too small :duh:
  9. Same here SE-L with MM and no problems like you describe
  10. I would have thought wind and road surface will also have an impact
  11. I've also got a clicking from the drivers window, started yesterday. It's actually the plastic trim at the back of the drivers window. If you press on it it goes away but comes back as soon as you release. Another annoying rattle/creak! I'm getting fed up with the poor interior build! My car has already been back three times and I've given up, although this one is really annoying and I think i'll be paying another visit. It's such a waste of time! How does the IS250 compare to other makes in this respect.
  12. Here what I do. Park, Press wing mirror Switch (Mirrors fold in) Turn off ignition, press wing mirror switch. Then when I start the car next time wing mirrors fold out. I must admit though it would be better if all this stuff was automatic and configurable on a menu. It's obviously possible as all controlled by computer.
  13. Welcome to the Club. Apart from my moans The lexus is still a great car! I have also experienced the Mercedes Service. They broke the windscreen seal on an SLK while doing a respray of a small area for stone chips. I found out when rain water poured in. I took it back and they filled the gap with clear silicone sealer which was plainly visible from the outside. As you can imagine I was fuming.
  14. Write to Lexus GB. They need to know about this so they can find fixes. 'gill.want@lgb.lexus.co.uk' 'steve.settle@lgb.lexus.co.uk'
