  1. Well, but the Lexus is still closer to perfection than the Ferrari in that case ;)
  2. I would say the Pursuit of Perfection is for example building a big hybrid luxury sedan doing 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and not using more than 0.79 litres of gasonline per 10 km... Not creating a super expensive small sports car that does not have any build quality to speak of considering the price... (even if they are holding together better nowadays than they used to do..). I have driven some fun "super" sport cars, but I think the Lexus is far more closer to perfection than them... Still a great car obviously and I would not say no to one :D
  3. Ah, a familiar face (name...) :) It really does look great in black. Nice looking rims too, they were the ones offered by the Lexus dealer? Never saw the 16" ones. @ Jamboo - Regarding driving in the snow, mine actually has 17" (225 wide) winter tyres and it has performed well above expectations in the snow.
  4. I think they greatly add to the personality of the car. Did not like them at first, but now I would not want them to change them.
  5. I tried both of them pretty extensively before ordering my IS. Actually, I first ordered it with the ML, but then changed my mind since I really did not hear that much of a difference. I do not doubt that the ML sounds better than the Pioneer, but for me (and yes I like music very much) the difference was not big enough to justify the cost. The standard stereo is great in my opinion.
  6. Living in Sweden I have driven the IS250 quite a lot in snowy conditions and I must say that it behaves better than expected. True, I did not have that high expectations… One important thing is of course to have good winter tires. Mine are spiked but they are really too wide (225) to be really optimal (I let the looks decide, they are 17 inchers). Still the Lex in Snow Mode manages to get up my pretty steep driveway where my front wheel drive have a lot of problems getting up. I also think it is pretty stable when driving in the snow.
  7. Opinions differ as stated before… but claiming that the new IS looks dull I just cannot understand – especially not compared to the old one. And comparing the interior of the both cars, the difference is incredible with the new model being way ahead on quality feeling. As one of the biggest car magazines in Sweden stated: “the new BMW 3-series has never looked so bland as when placed next to the new IS” :) Oh yeah, and the ride on 18 inchers is not noisy and not disturbingly hard IMHO.
  8. was planning to be a smart guy and change my Yaris for an IS200 now (a great step in the right direction already that obviously) and in a couple of year get a pre owned IS250. The 250 cost more than I really want to put on a car and the catastrophic economy in buying a new car we are all too well aware of. But… …after having test driven both of them, I simply had no choice - the IS250 is just so much car than the IS200! And actually, after living with it for soon a month and having put 2000 km on the road with it, I think it is so good that it is actually cheap for what you get! Sorry, not an answer to your question maybe, but anyway… :)
  9. I think the sound when not having the seatbelt on is pretty good actually, and also gives more points in Euro Ncap (I think). Witout one in my old car, I sometimes - against better knowledge - drove a bit before buckling up, and that I obviously do not do anymore. But then I might be a stupid Swede of course ;) The door alarm though is pretty annoying...
  10. I am a bit surprised to hear how you seem to be treaded by Lexus in the UK. I got very well treated by Lexus here in Sweden, not perfect but easily the best treatment from any car dealer. No problems despite me changing the specification of the car after ordering it several times. Oh, and the car runs perfect so far, no problems, no nothing except lots of handling, style and luxury ;) Now, if only the snow would melt...
  11. Yeah, they got some just recently, but not all of the colours. Also no samples of the different seat materials/colours etc yet - not good at all IMO.
  12. At the moment I think st Lucia Pearl is a slight favourite, but I will take a trip to the dealer an look at the (few) colours they have on their cars before deciding 100%. The link to all the 10 colours was very useful, thanks for that, but the pictures were pretty small, so I am trying to find larger ones of cars in any other colour than Argento ice - but without much luck. Any more links, anyone?
  13. Hi all, Placed my order today for a IS250 Sport, manual, with multimedia package (nav, ML etc in Sweden) :) I am really looking forward to receiving the car which is due May/June. But... I have problems deciding which colour to go for. I wrote Argento Ice (with black interior) in the contract but that can be changed for some time still according to the salesman. I previously liked Argento Ice the best, but today after comparing it to a black and a st Lucia Pearl it looked rather dull IMHO. The colours I am thinking of is Argento Ice, Astral Black, st Lucia Pearl and maybe a Cadoxton Slate (which I have not seen at all IRL). I know this is up to individual taste but any thoughts would be appreciated :) Also, keeping a black car nice and clean is a pretty demanding job from what I gather? Cheers!
  14. I am just about to place my order for a IS250 Sport. In Sweden the Sport interior with escaine seats come in three colors: black, grey and beige My Lexus dealer only has the black interior in the demo cars, but I am thinking of getting the grey – mostly because I think the dashboard and doors look nicer with some grey sections. However, the dealer more or less warned me that the escaine seats in beige and grey were not at all as nice looking as the ones in black. I have tried to find pictures of the grey escaine seats but to no avail, and would greatly appreciate inf some could post any pictures of this they might have - or help me out with any link to pictures like that. It is the seats I am interested in, not the dashboard etc. Thanks a lot! :)
