There are heater ducts under the front seats like most cars, never had anyone complain in the back about being cold. Think I have just logged on using my old profile! Nit seemn a picture of my old IS for years. I am referring to the CT in the comment.

I had major condensation ( it totally covered the lenses ) in both my IS300 lights for past six months, despite trying many times to dry out with hair dryer etc. Finally pealed back the rubber seals around the main beam bulbs so some air gets around and after a few days the condensation totally disappeared. I was a bit worried at first about water getting in to the lights now the seal was pulled back, but after a month of running with rain & power washing every week no problems !

When this happened to My IS300 last year I just sprayed about a 1/4 of a bottle of Dettol Antbacterial spray (the sort you get for cleaning kitchens surfaces etc) around the air intakes under the bonnet where I thought the fresh air entered and ran the Air con on Full power ofr about 10 mins and the problem has never occured again. Also worked a treat on an old portable air con unit we use at home.

On my 2002 IS300 I occasionally switch the gearbox into manual mode but whenever I do it and at whatever speed it always goes into 5th straight away and I can never get it to go into 1st, even at rest. It switches between gears fine so is this how it should be or do I have a problem. Don't have a handbook so cannot check. Thanks.

Looks like a change of job next week will mean that I will have to have a company car and sell my much loved IS300. Problem is the Used Price guides vary so much and you can never tell what prices the cars on Autotrader actually go for, so please can anyone suggest price to put car up for?? Details- 2002 IS300 Saloon Scarlatti Red, Black Leather 39000 miles FSH (Lexus to 2005), Just serviced and MOT Apart from few minor marks on edge of alloys car is totally as new, I realise many will say this about their cars but this really is amazing. thanks

All done by hand! - I think I will get the use of my arm back by next week ! took about four hours (forgot tomention I also steam cleaned under the arches and cleaned the leather) I think you may be right about the spoiler, never thought of it before but from memory I hink the 200 sport ones are a bit slimmer.

I am not sure if I need new brake pads on the rear of my IS300. I have not had time to take the wheel off for a good look but the caliper appears to be virtually touching the disc and I cannot see any pad at all - but is this normal when trying to look without taking the wheel off. The disc is not scored and the brakes are quiet, and the its only done 33,000 miles. Can some one look at their rear calipers and see if they are touching the discs ?? Thanks.

I have just noticed that the cigarette lighter is not working i my IS300 after trying to recharge my portable Sat Nav, since I dont smoke I dont know how long its not been working for but I am hoping its just the fuse....however as I dont havea handbook can anyone tell me which fuse no it is and where its located?? Thanks.

Just seen details of The Group Buy on the Sport Grilles, looks good deal. However, my colour is not available as my car is Scaratti Red...... So do I choose Astral Black or Granite Sky ?? anyone fitted a different colour grille to their IS?? or what do you think would look best... I dont want to bother getting it painted...need to decide in next couple of days...... Thanks.

Having recently bought my 2003 Is300 (without an owners manual) I was wondering if the Traction/Stability Control warning light come on when the system is triggered. It has done in my previous Mercedes/Smart/Fords, but today after turning right at a junction the rear end stepped out of line by about a foot or so but no warning light came on, so I dont know if it was my driving skill in catching the slide or the car which did it for me........ or does it only get triggered in extreme situations?? thanks.

I am going to get a battery next week my self, was thinking about popping over to Costco, now will definately. Can you tell me though, when changing the battery is there any code that is lost in the stereo as I did not get an owners manual with my car, i realise the presets will go but I am worried about the code....

I have tried connecting my battery pack this morning but no joy. I will try just turning they ignition on and waiting and see if that helps.......getting a bit paranoid about this now especially as our other car a Galaxy 2.8V6 refused to restart from hot today..... still that might have somthing to do with my wife setting the alarm off and then pressing every buton possible to try and switch it off. I think the immobilisor must have thought the car was under mass attack. When I eventually got to her it did fire up eventually and the dashboard lit up like a Christmas Tree..... Still it seems to be sorted now. Perhaps i can stop my wife using the Lexus and see if that cures it....maybe not as it will mean I will have to drive back from the pub instead!

I tried the ECU reset on my Is300 yesterday but no improvement, interesting what you say about replacing battery as I did not think it could be this as appeared to turn over quick enough - however only had car for a week so not sure what normal feels like. May try at week end attaching my jump start power pack and seeing if that makes any difference before spending any cash on new battery. However, not sure if previous owner had replaced the battery already as its got TOYOTA badging on, is this normal for a 2002 car or did it originally have Lexus Branding?? Thanks for help.

Does anyone know where I can get a set of mudflaps for my IS300, I only really want the front pair. Lexus Nottingham quoted me an eye watering £56 for a set of four.......

My 2002 IS300 seems to have the same problem, when starting from cold it turns over quickly for around 3-5 secs and eventually fires slightly spluttery for a second then fine. As I have only just bought the car I did not know if this was normal, it now appears not. What is an ECU reset?? Can you do it yourself and if so are there any risks?? As its out of Warranty I dont want a big bill to cure a minor annoyance.

Having just bought a 2002 IS300 yesterday I was disappointed to not get an owners manual and whilst I can manage to work out most of the controls, the SHIFT LOCK button on the auto transmission is foxing me. When I press it there is not any light displaying in the instrument panel to say if its on or not so WHAT DOES IT DO????. Also does anyone know where I can get a photocopy or original of the Owners Manual ??
