  1. have a look at the AA: the AA I wouldn't go for the full hog as you do drive a Lexus! The home start is never worth it as I have never known anyone to have a car brake down at home unless it was a battery or no fuel. Everything that can go wrong at home is usually easy to do yourself. The highest cover I would do is the Option 200, only so that if I was on holiday I would be taken home or to the destination. but then when you get there you still have to sort your car out!? I might do the vehicle membership on option 100 myself.
  2. You get what you pay for; Aparently the B&M shifter is very notchey. Kaz has the TRD one and it's too there usual high standards.
  3. maybe they will try to ban all passengers next then as long as they ban wives from passenger seats I don't mind!
  4. I had the same problem this week. look at this post Post try driving a farely short distance, about 2-3 miles at 30-40mph and try not to use the brakes. then check wether one disc is considrably hotter than the others or that one wheel is very dark from the brake dust compared to the rest.
  5. good kit but they use the Euro conector for the back of the stereo and the Lex doesnt have that so its chopping wires to fit; you may as well go for any other kit in the end.
  6. Realy? I didnt know that? There was a story a while back, I forget the details but along the lines of: a woman got done for eating a kitkat and hence not being in control - she was stationary in traffic at the time. corect! I thought it was a bloke but there we go? Can honestly say it makes no difference to me! Could be a passenger talking to me for all the difference it would make to me and my driving. That's because you drive bad all the time! :P Seriously though, I agree with Kazi. Actually I recon a phone is less dangerous than a passenger, you tend to glance there way while there in the car but a mobile you are looking forward all the time. they should re-run the tests but with your misses naging in your ear or you on the phone to your mate!
  7. HAHA yes have to agree with u on that one - one ex member i recall in particular - looked like it had ram raided every halfords and max muppet store in the country ........the members car im thinking of is still on here I think..... Tickled me that post did! Haha... LOL Actually I don't think there too bad!? but then I wouldn't put them on my Lex, I love the EVO's though and they suit them (aslong as there colour coded)
  8. I'd be interested too but mine is Royal saphire so I asume they don't have the new one's in that old colour. Also I asume that they come painted otherwise it's alot of money to get those painted for what they are. Let me know :D
  9. I don't think it's a rip off from a dealer but why get it serviced by Lex? My IS is 6 years old with 94K on the clock. I had the timing belt done, 2 New tyres and a full service all for £500 including genuine Lex parts! I use an independant garage because I trust them. also I have had no problems with it in 12 months, they realy are reliable. I asume your car is about 5-6 years old if so its worth about 7K if you have full lex service history in 3 years your car will be worth 3K topps. if you dont have full Lex service it's still worth around 3K. what you may possibly lose in depreciation is probably less than what you will be paying extra over an independant garage to Lexus. Manufacturers still have to honour warantee's by law even if it's serviced by an independant.
  10. For what? Talking? They don't even fine you that much for No MOT or Insurance. You're UNLUCKY to get that fine if you stole a car! Get them copers off the damn highway and on the streets. Deaths by driving are getting lower every year. More and More are using the phone while driving, can you see a corolation? I can't!
  11. I like them. I think there the best out of all the options. I don't like the bar across the top of the TTE bumper and think the TRD lip is a bit too round for the agressive look of the IS. Just a shame there alot of money for what they are. Craig
  12. If you had asked CIJ he would have been really helpfull and tell you there from Lexus. Then contact Chris.S who would have told you they come pre painted and cost £340! I want them too but can't justify the price at the moment. :D
  13. As many know Kaz and I sell mobile phones so I just wanted to clarify a few things. As far as I know, the law states: 1. you cannot hold a mobile phone while driving 2. you cannot use a mobile while supervising someone whom is driving 3. force someone to use a mobile while driving I asume that this means that you can use a handsfree with a wire, e.g. the normal one you get with most mobiles. you could also put the phone on speaker? is this right?
  14. Result! I got a phonecall from my garage at 5.20 and was told the car is ready and all it was, was some grease that had hardened and stoped the caliper resetting. it was cleaned out and all was fine, no need for pads, discs or even a caliper! Cost me an hours labour! Just got to pick up that plastic tray from Leic on Wednesday and all will be back to it's great self. I got home and treated the car to a wash so it's all gleaming again. :D
  15. Thats really weird, mine does not spray the lights if I spray the windscreen with the lights on. Maybe I have a fault, a fault I guess I can live with. :o Mine doesnt spray lights unless i press the button too!?
  16. navman are really good for the money. tom toms are good too but bulky, if you want the handsfree bluetooth stuff then the tom tom is very good at that.
  17. If you're in a contract there may not be much you can do but you may not be plus (I think) all contracts have to have a cooling off period, normaly 7 days. At least ask them about it or you will kick yourself all the time about it. ring the company at drive the deal and check it all out and then go to the dealership and talk to them. You don't get if you don't ask.
  18. Not 100% sure because I havn't seen the bumper but it should do as it is genuine. as for the washer gets they just need the holes cutting out. ive seen this posted a few times.
  19. the genuine parts litrally bolt on, no drilling no filling just bolt on and a bit of good old Blue Peter stuff (double sided sticky tape). you could fit yourself. It really is quite easy. side skirts are the easiest the whole bumper is a bit of an arse. the rear im not too sure about though.
  20. Liar! :P you must get about 30miles with the way you drive! same here, slower when full and rapidly goes near the bottom. I get about 400miles to a full tank.
  21. Lexus genrally use a body shop to do their work so you could go the non lexus route. your old car looked like it was done up so I asume you know a decent garage, try them and it should be cheaper although £500 inc vat is a very good pricew for a good body shop so £600 from Lex is more than reasonable.
  22. the TTE bumper is nice but it needs that top lip taking out and a nice grill going in I did a photoshop on one: a good body shop could do it. otherwise ther is the corner splitters alot of money though. come painted from lexus at £300+. Contact Chris.S . the front lip is a good option.
  23. if so look at this thread: Error 3
  24. was it displaying ERR 3 by some chance?
  25. it looks like I need a new or reconditioned caliper! 1. Does anyone know where to get one cheap. 2. am I right in saying the supra front calipers are the same as the IS. 3. is there any other toyota cars with the same caliper? many thanks
