  1. :) Back to the "Did you know" , someone please tell me if this is true ? I was in my local dealer on Saturday, having a moan, or should I say waiting to have a moan when I overheard a potensial IS250 buyer remark on the size of the boot and the fact he would have no problems getting his golf clubs in the back, to which the salesmen replied "Actually the boot on this was designed around 2 sets of golf clubs to ensure they would fit" Not sure if it swung the sale :D
  2. Morning All, this could be a really stupid question, but here goes : I have had my IS200se (Auto) for a month now ( I have done about 1500 miles) and have been watching the fuel consumption like a hawk. Now the best I have had is 30mpg , the lowest being 22ish, in the main it's 24. I have tried a few different styles, i.e. steady away, snow mode, cruise contol and the ECU power on all the time. I do find it the latter to be give the best results. I don't drive it particlually hard, due in the main to around town driving. But the question is does the ECU learn driving styles/habits? Would how the previous owner drove it make a difference, and would and ECU reset be worth doing. I would appricate any thoughts or views. Thanks Chris :)
  3. I have an I Trip(FM) converter for the IPod, but two things bug me sadly. One there illegal over here to have them on, and 2nd is that there not the best quality either mine tends to crackle alot finding a none used frequency is very difficult..lol I think the law is changing, so that you can transmitt as long as it's under 10 metres
  4. :tsktsk: Jonny You really must learn to calm down :D The people on this forum are top people, I have only been a member for a month and they have been great, their a fountain of knowledge, which you could really benifit from. Maybe you just got of to a bad start. Regards Chris P.s. Welcome
  5. :) It's good to hear Jamboo, can you do a few more so we can monitor it. Can anybody beat it ?
  6. She pss me off! Silly facial expressions! Your just ganging up on her now :D
  7. I guess it must of been a copy he was after and you've hit a nerve, hopefully he wont be back :)
  8. I will hopefully be getting my stereo back from the dealer this week, not sure if I should put CD's in, I have been without it for over 3 weeks and it's driving me :tsktsk: nuts
  9. Agreed TG is far better, but 5th gear do have Vicky B) :ooh-ducky: :winky:
  10. Ket / Chrisis200, There is another option it's not perfect but it does work, but only if you have an MP3 player (iPOD etc,) and thats to buy an FM adapter. This works by plugging the adapter into the headphone socket of the player, selecting a frequency and then tuning the car stereo to the same frequency, and as long as the unit is within a few metres of the stereo your MP3 tunes will come through the stereo. Like I said it's not perfect but it does mean you have an alternative to listening to the radio, without spending mega money. :)
  11. Beer : Stella Spirit : G & T :)
  12. If its a 2001 you should be OK on the CD. Just check if the CD slot is over the tape slot and then you will know it's the newer unit without the problems. Obviously not so, as mine is above the cassette ! It looks like the sort of dust you'd find in a sprayshop !, it's also on the hose on the right hand side and possibly on the top of the battery. Just my thoughts
  13. MOrning Sean, I have only been a Lexus 200 (se) user for 3 weeks and I love it. Yes it is a bit thirsty but hey, you can't have everything. I got my car from a Lexus dealer, and it had, had a RAC 180 point check, before I collected it. However on getting it home I decided to load the CD player with CD's ( waiting for the green light etc), it was when putting the 4th CD in that the problem started. The player started making a scrapping noise, so I tried to eject it, although on the screen it said it had ejected , it hadn't this was the same with CD 3 and 2, it did eject the 1st CD, but then the ERR3 message appeared. Lucky for me the car had a full warrenty so the dealers have removed it and it's currently being sorted. However I understand that it could be very expensive if not under warrenty, and it seems from reading the forums that its a common fault, so if you are buying private, ask the guy to load the CD player with 6 CD's, and then eject them. Then atleast you wont get the nasty suprise when you get home. :)
  14. :D I like it, does anybody have anymore ?
  15. :) It is the 20 pin connector, still can't get hold of one though !
  16. :) Top Motor, keep us upto date on the MPG and rattle free status. You just need those DVD screens now, that will really top it off :D
  17. It'll only work if you have the 20 pin radio connector, not if you have the old 18pin. I'll check, thanks for that
  18. ditto. MMMmmmm, a whopping 3 quid or so per tank of fuel in savings! :D Buys a pint at least :) D. Every little helps, could be a much as £6.50 but I doubt it, could be a couple of hundred pounds a year though
  19. Same goes for me, signed up about 5 or 6 months ago, they needed 100,000 sign ups to get the scheme up and running, that has now been passed and like others have said they are now looking at May/June, although I must say this has slipped back slightly I think originally it was going to be March/April. But it didn't take long to sign up , I was a bit worried in the beginning about SPAM etc, so simlpy spent a few minutes creating a Hotmail account, but the only mail I have had is from The pipeline system, so at this stage it doesn't appear to be a tool for generating SPAM. And even if it's only 2 or 3 pence per litre (they are talking between 5 and 10 pence) it's better in your pocket that the super rich oil compainies :)
  20. Morning all, I currently have my IS200 stereo, with the Lexus dealer I got the car from who are fixing the dreaded ERR3. Whilst the stereo is out I really want to put an AUX IN box in so that I can use my Ipod, when the stereo is put back in. Unfortunalty a problem with Prolex's supplier means they don't have any in stock. So the question is does anybody have one that they no longer use / need/ want ? Or does anybody know where I may be able to source one ! Thanks Very Much
  21. :) Got mine done in Newcastle Upon Tyne, top job and it's closer than Nottingham :) Custom Tint Charged me £180 for back doors and rear window
