  1. Steve, When I do a mail run - I weigh one to see the cost, then take the whole lot (unstamped) to the post office and pay for the lot (say 1,150 x 60p) and they sort the lot - apply postage etc. I simply drive round the back, show them my recepit, then pull a trolley up to my car and empty my boot into the trolley. Got to be easier than franking hundreds of envelopes????
  2. Lol - details higher up in this thread!!! :winky:
  3. Wow - that surprises me .... I pay just under £600 for the 2 year old IS200 worth circa £14k and pay LESS than that for the NSX (Group 20 car) which is worth significantly more. (To be fair - the Lexus quote is including business use) 2 years NCD on both of them as I bought the IS200 new delivered 26th Jan 2002 and one week later bought the NSX. I'd be happy with a quote like that!!
  4. That is a bit harsh. Many people enjoy track days and that doesn't make them stupid - each to their own! Driving your car hard on a 'good' track day with strict rules is much safer than trying to drive hard on the public roads. Nothing against peeps who don't want to try track days..... but nothing against those that do either
  5. http://www.liverpoolvictoria.co.uk/ Try these for an online quote - seem very good - not interested in mileage covered, whether garaged or security though strangly. I have just got a cracking deal on the NSX :D
  6. See you there!!! Don't forget that there is loads of room for a Club meet too, and advance tickets can be bought direct to save a couple of quid. £6 in advance. Ticket hotline 01484 452002
  7. In the display area yes - but the huge sheds next door is where you have your Club meet - as many places as needed. Basically there is a Hall where the display stands are, and you can put cars in there, or just display Club material to let peeps know who you are. The area for the Club in the sheds cannot be marked with banners etc. but you can all park together indoors. I did a reckie last year and happy with it - we have a stand.
  8. At Stoneleigh. Will be displays, trade stands, concours prizes...... if LOC don't know about this - check the events section on the Honda Revolutions website and email me - I can get you all the details for booking a Club stand etc.
  9. Will there be a Lexus Club stand and meet ????
  10. Surely it depends on the person. However if you are yourself a car nut - having a certain kind car may well attract another car nut. I am sure that some of the blokes that come up to talk to me when I am out and about in either my moddified CRX or my NSX realise that to be driving that sort of car, I am obviously into cars ....... I doubt the same blokes would spot me if I just walked into a pub. (Not that I drive into pubs you understand!! Cripes - that WOULD be attention seeking)
  11. Usually the Teg is blocked in by another car. A CCTV camera would be no use as you are not allowed to have them pointed where they would film public area - can only point on your land ...... the driveway is short, and right opposite is a public place. The car is also VERY well known - a lot of people know it well enough to report if seen driving fast in the streets (the owner never rags it on the public roads) ....... The Disklock did it's job well thankfully as it would have been a huge shame for that car to fall into the wrong hands - it is a real track tool owned by someone who drives it very well - and a lot of time has been invested in it. If we find those responsible ......... Which forum did youfind this on???
  12. I don't do itas it isn't fair. I also think it isvery rude as you are basically saying that your time is more important than everyone else's. It is only justifiable if you are on some sort of mission - not work - important things .... like getting a woman to the hospital as she is in your car in labour or you have had the call to get to the hospital as someone you love is in a bad way ...... otherwise - just selfish. (IMO)
  13. Gee thanks!! I happen to love my old Hondas ...... and far from boring. Best engines made. (IMO)
  14. I don't think you do get the point as you are stil saying "But she is probably" ..... you are being prejudice! You are judging someone on how they look. You obviously don't like people to do that to you - so why do it to others? The way someone looks does not tell you who that person is, what they are thinking etc. This isn't the movies, the goodguys don't wear white and are all handsome, and the bad guys don't all wear black and are ugly. If you think you can judge on appearances - you are not only guilty of being just as big a bigot, but you are also at worse risk of being duped. My Grandfather is a narrow minded bigot. He judges on appearances. Consequently we have rowed in the past as hewould look down on friends who are really good people, just because they wear 'unconventional' clothing etc ....... consequently - it was really easy for a well spoken, smartly dressed man in a suit to rip him off.
  15. Sorry mate I'll be honest I haven't got a clue what that is If you have never heard of the 6R4 .... shame on you!Call yourself a car enthusiast!!! Prescription is .... get yourself to Gaydon for the big meet28th March, then go into the Museum and see the firebreather inside. Awesome cars. Although styling wise - the RS200 is just stunning. :P
  16. 6 clubs???? Yikes!!! We had 350 Hondas at the last one and we have grown a fair bit since then! If there is only room for 600 cars ........ how many are the other Clubs expecting? For the newbies ..... we had a few Convoys with meeting points. One started in teh South, one started Scotland, one started Wales - that way the newbies arrived with 'friends' they had already chatted to when meeting in laybys, services etc. The Southern Convoy that arrived at 11am had just under 90 cars in it.
  17. I fully understand ..... must be disheartening to see an elderly car turning more heads and giving so much pleasure for so much less outlay! :winky: I have my Lexus for day-to-day transport .... and my CRX comes out for special occasions, fun and justthe joy of driving a superb car. :D
  18. It really pisses me off tho bro, getting judged for my colour, age and driving a fancy ride. I wonder what she would have done I was in a shirt and tie and not a harlem hoodie Errr - I woud be equaly offended by your assumption that she judged you aon your appearance! You don't know why she was scared, but you assume it is due to your colour, age, choice of clothing and car??????? She was prob acting merely on 'better safe than sorry'. A lot of scary stuff happens ...... in this Saturday's Telegraph there was a storey about a woman who parked her car outside her house, saw a man walking by (don't remember what colour or cothes etc if they said he was wearing, as to me - irrelevant!) .... after he had gone, she unlocked her car and was immediatly attacked. She had been pointed out as a probable target because she wore an expensive ring. Someone 'sells' info on who is a target, what they drive, where they live - then the 'trap' is set ....... she was lucky - even though she was being sufforcated as they tried to tug the ring off (stuck, and their heavy handed tactics had puled and caused her finger to swell) - she managed to scream and neighbours heard and came out. How scary that she had been 'under surveilance' and if she had died, they would have simply seen it as an inconvienience, but nothing of consequence. This was a woman who takes precautions, drives with her doors locked and keeps herself fit. Don't insult us women by making prejudice assumptions - she didn't know what you wanted, and not always safe these days to hang around to find out.
  19. Not certain which hurt the most - the loss of my lifetime partner & childhood sweetheart - would have been our 15th wedding anniversary last week. Or when my cousin got murdered - having to break the news to my great gran that he eldest granson had been killed, and seeing the devestating effect it had on her. She outlived both her sons and one grandson - she was a wonderful person but the loss hit herhard and I wil always miss her. As has been said though - sadness in life is not a completely negative thing - a feel good film always feels better when there have been tears along the way.
  20. Welll I'd like a track-driving course .... one-to-one instruction with a realy good driver to learn how to drive my car better and faster (and smoother) on track. Would she like the same sort of gift? (Just in case anyone was thinking what they could get this particular girly! :P )
