  1. My RX450h is nearly 7 years old (can't believe it!), 65k miles and the only things so far (fingers crossed), have been a new 12v battery and an intermittent engine warning light diagnosed to the O2 sensors. I put off replacing the O2 sensors and then there was a 'recall' (or whatever they call it) and had them replaced free. The only other thing has been tires - I have found these very very expensive! but obviously not covered under warranty. I've been offered extended warranty every time I've been into the dealership. I um and ah, about it too, but have always decided against it eventually.
  2. Doesn't look like a common fault then. Thanks for the responses.... I agree with the comments about the activation time, but its an important feature for me on the passanger side as my wife is patially sighted and this is really helpful for her location the door handle at night. Lucky for me, its just the drivers side thats bust (and thats my seat) or I would be getting a lot more grief about it! Thanks guys.
  3. Ever since getting my 220d I have had an issue with the courtesy light under the driver side wing mirror not working. Despite several investigations by the dealer and a new mirror at one point all has failed to resolve it. My passenger side works fine, its just the drivers side! I have just booked it into a new dealership for its 10k service (service has got to be better at this one!) and asked them to look at it. Interestingly I was told they have another vehicle with the same fault and they too are having problems finding out what it is. Is this a known problem?? Does anyone happen to know of a fix?? Have you tested your car?? – Just walk up to it in the dark and you will see the light under the mirror come on.
  4. Yea I'd be surprised if the US and UK are different, and even more surprised if the MultiMedia Radio in the 220d were different from the 250/350. The system on Discountcarstereo.com looks like the SoundLinQ system and if I remember rightly SoundLinQ would not ship directly to the UK. Oh dear what a dilemma - £160 down the drain if it doesn't work, but boy would I use it if it works (very fed up not being able to control or charge my pod at the moment)!
  5. Discountcarstereo.com are showing that an iPod interface is now available for the new IS250 (LEXPD), but... they are stating that: "This product has not been tested or approved for us in Lexus vehicles outside the USA. Purchasing this part for vehicles outside the USA is at your own risk --- our support and return policy will not apply" Would anyone like to comment on the likelihood of this NOT working in the UK and furthermore on an IS220D?? I've been waiting for one of these for ages, but am now worried about it not working in the UK. Cheers http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=878
  6. Thanks - I'll have a play. If anyone knows what to do when in the Service Menu??
  7. Can anyone tell me how to realign the Park Assist on the new MM option? I was reversing today, in a straight line, and noticed that when the steering wheel was straight, the lines on the rear camera view were suggesting I needed to turn the wheel. I am sure the dealer would sort it out for me, but if there is an easy menu option or similar, I'd rather just do it myself. Any suggestion are much appreciated.
  8. Same here with the rear view - Its odd but I'm getting used to it If anyone has any suggestions??
  9. There are lots of posts about 'hacking' the DVD to play on the MultiMedia console while on the move, but, is it possible to add an external display and have this playing while on the move? o Passengers can enjoy DVD o No additional DVD player required o Full surround sound Am I dreaming, or does anyone who has had the console apart, seen a possible connection?? Ian
  10. 220d + MM Rides well, no rattles, good performance, very pleased with the car and the sales staff at Manchester. Had a few problems getting my Origin B2 installed by the dealer. Sorted now though. Only one annoyance is a rattle when I shut the drivers door. I have also noticed some glass shards on my drive. Car was ex demo and I think its had a broken side window at some point. I'll be calling Manchester first thing tomorrow to find out.
  11. Doh! So it is a fire prevention system, if you believe the salesman
  12. Has anyone spotted what appears to be a sensor in the Drivers ashtray?? Try ejecting it and have a look. There is a clear window in the Ashtray (right hand side), and what looks like a sensor inside the console on the left of the lighter socket. Surely its not to tell you your ashtray is full?? Or is it some form of new fire alarm
  13. Hi Folks, I'm not able to find this anywhere, so am hoping someone can help..... Can the IS220 use the same roof rack systems as the IS200? I was looking at Thule, but their configuration system does not have the IS220 or IS250, only the 4 door IS200 (fitting kit 1152). Will this work on the IS220? I'm looking for a occasional use, a flexible configuration that will carry both cycles or a storage box, and can be easily removed and stored. Thanks in advance, Ian
  14. Very nice ! Mines coming up to a week and 250 miles old. The colour is very 'moody' and seems to change with the weather from ligh grey to black. Dirt is ok. The rain has been rolling off the SuperGaurd paint, but the dirt has started to show on the lower half sides. Time for a clean this weekend - just hope its not raining (again). :D
  15. Quick Question, How do dealers view electrical mods on vehicles under warranty?? eg iPod connector or Mirror auto closure (given these are possible on the new IS) Will I get grief? Thanks in advance, Ian
