  1. Bridgestones on mine, ride firm, but prefer that, grip seems good.
  2. Jamboo, Lookin good mate, knew you'd love it once you were behind the wheel and its yours! As one of the previous posters on here said its one of the few cars where he makes an excuse to go out for a drive, I know that feeling, guess you do now too. How's the buyers remorse now :D Best of luck with it. Woody
  3. Hi Jamboo, I have measured fuel consumption, (diesel), on two conseccutive reasonably long round trips. One about 500 miles, one about 450. Both were about 80 - 85% motorway. I used the old fashioned method of filling tank after each run and dividing by miles done etc etc. The average is working out around high 37 mpg to low 38mpg, very similar to the figure given by the trip. Obviously this is lower than I would expect, but the car now has only about 1800 miles on it and still feels tight and I would expect it to improve by the time the car is up to 5 - 10k. My experience of diesels to date is they do improve with age, both on consumption and performance, and would hope this is true of the IS as well. I'll post again as the miles go up, if it gets no better I'm gonna buy shares in BP cos I really like the car. :)
  4. Thank you Jamboo I will certainly check this out. Thanks Tel, I'll check this out, but my company insist on a fully secured cradle, and do not "approve the use of bluetooth" they also don't condone the use of mobiles while driving, but play hell if they, or our customers/colleagues can't get hold of you, try work that one out as we can't, fleet nazis D'oh.
  5. Can anyone please help and advise as to where they may have fitted their hands free car kit on a IS220/250. I have the car, the phone, and the h/f kit, (all Nokia). Driving around looking at the dash, (ok I should be looking at the road), I have been trying to work out where it can go for easy access, yet without obscuring the centre console, jamming the glove box shut, or putting it in the firing line of an airbag. All help, advice, and pictures if possible, gratefully received. Thanks
  6. Hi JFB, I have just taken delivery of an IS220d, and its the first Lexus I have had. I have to say I would agree with many of the posts on here, yes the gearbox is "quirky", yes there is a turbo lag, yes economy does not appear to be fantastic. However that is after only 900 miles and one week. I have been lucky enough to be used to nice cars over the last too many years to mention, (as I'm sure we all have been on this site), and in comparison the Lexus feels one of the most sophisticated, comfortable and ergonomic cars I have ever sat in. I can feel the gearbox loosening and the engine becoming more responsive with every mile, and trust me, when it wants to go, it does go, the handling is great, the ride a little harsh but mostly comfortable. You can compensate for turbo lag with double declutch, and it does look great. For me plus' outweigh minus'. I don't think you made a major f$&% up as I too usually suffer from buyers remorse, and its minimal with this car, but I'll post again at about 5000 miles, (a few weeks), and we can compare. I hope economy will be up, and that the low rev range has eased up and revs come more freely, it feels like they will. Good Luck
