  1. All models had the same grille, the mesh sport grille was simply an accessory option that could be fitted to any model. But the Sport has it as standard, yes? If so, that means that car is an S/SE, unless someone has retrofitted the standard grille onto a Sport ... and who would do that? NO the IS200 sport didn't have the mesh grille as standard. Some dealers did however add them when they were selling that model. They were an optional accessory originally priced around 250 quid. These days though the colours still available can be had for a fraction of that. TG
  2. There is "Lexus Motor Insurance" already in existence. I switched to them from C.I.S. back in 2005 when they halved my renewal quote for my modified IS200. Stuck with them ever since and now my 'old git' age seems to be working in my favour Not sure if any help but here's a no. for them 0800 1383200 TG
  3. I hope he won't mind but here's a picture that member Fargo had some time ago now. TG
  4. Welcome back indeed. Another familiar name haven't seen for a while Is the fargosys.com website re-appearing soon too ? Cheers TG
  5. There's some brackets in the kit which go at the bonnet hinge end too. Here's the kit : Figs bonnet lift kit TG
  6. If you check your invoice any part supplied should be listed there along with the price. TG
  7. Have you got the standard exhaust manifold complete with the 2 catalytic converters it contains ? Could be one or both of those cats breaking up and causing a blockage. A known problem which TTE worked round by fitting a manifold without the cats. TG
  8. A (probably LARGE :duh:) number of years ago I bought a set of hydraulic bonnet struts from Prolex-uk for my IS200. Easy to fit and not had any problems with them. However, the lower mounting brackets were looking a bit weak and starting to bend when people got heavy handed. <_< On checking "Figs Engineering" website who I believe were the supplier at the time I found they'd introduced a new stronger looking bracket. Contacted them and they confirmed they were indeed using a different lower bracket on their kits. Fortunately they seemed more than happy to sell me some new brackets so I bought a set. That was around August 2009 a set of new Black brackets arrived and have been waiting to be painted to match. With that job done recently I finally got round to fitting them today so took a few pics while I was at it. I'll bung them here but I better mention a few things which may or may not be relevant. 1) I don't know if the kit from Prolex is still the FIGS one or whether they have a different one now. 2) It could be that other people already have the newer type brackets as I've had this quite a while. 3) The new brackets from FIGS cost me $40 shipped but that was August 2009 so probably not right now. Here's the old brackets I removed today :- Doesn't look a particularly solid mounting and the nearside is the most bendy. Now here's the new ones I put in their place :- Look a bit more substantial and more of a solid fixing. :) A trivial job yes but one less thing for this 'old guy' to be worried about. TG
  9. Not the top one but there's one of the EBEL ones here ... EBEL watch on Ebay TG
  10. I'm another old one still visiting here and driving same IS200 Still liking it lots too despite the age - of me and the car :duh: TG
  11. I've got one similar and found the "Lexus collection" brochure (dated July 1999) that it was listed in I know this one was made by the Swiss company EBEL and released in limited editions. Having said that it's no. 321/1000 of limited edition B so not all that limited TG
  12. Maybe not really necessary but when TTE fitted my kit a little '98 unleaded' sticker appeared on the inside of the fuel flap door. Perhaps a bad example as my car doesn't get thrashed much by this ageing driver. Does now only get fed Vpower though and I have no complaints about consumption. If anything it's better now. Hopefully a nice clean engine too. TG
  13. A few questions to answer then if I can so here goes :duh: How about 'oink oink' , 'woof woof' , 'meow meow' , 'moo moo' , 'bahhh bahhh' , 'hiss hiss' They taste ok, nothing special but they'll do. I'm no gourmet though :yack: Haven't found any broken ones yet. Not made in Japan. Box says produce of Malaysia. Website is at http://www.munchys.com UK distributor 'Arsuk foods ltd' in Ilford. Their site is http://www.arsuk.co.uk Each box contains 8 sachets, each of those holding 2 sandwich cracker thingies. Can't see any gold badges but the 'lexus' lettering on the packs is slightly goldish. TG

  16. We've been posting links to that bahamutcars site on here for quite a while now. There's a collapsible clickable menu down the left hand side of the page. The main ones of interest that we've posted links to it for are headed 'Repair Manual' and 'Electrical Wiring Diagram'. The link in the first post isn't quite right though so here's what it should be workshop manual They're pdf's of the original Lexus workshop manuals which the dealers have. TG
  17. Only Gold members are permitted to offer things for sale here. Perhaps that's why you have little interest. TG

  19. Wiring diagrams can be found here workshop manuals Click down left hand side on 'Electrical Wiring Diagram' followed by 'OVERALL ELECTRICAL WIRING DIAGRAM [RHD]' Then 'Radio and Player' followed by link relevant to your car based on year and no. of speakers. '8 speakers' relates to rear shelf 6x9 looking speakers having 2 drivers in each. Standard on SE and Sport models along with amp behind the glovebox. Have fun TG
  20. Is there a problem then with grom + satnav ? TG
  21. Get new battery from dealer for around 65 quid with a 4 year warranty TG
  22. Andy .. Is that disc different from PZ485-LCDEN-07 which the map updates website gives me as the update for mine ? TG
  23. When you guys are replacing the mesh on the grille, which kind are you using ? I've tried some stainless mesh which was ok but I wanted it black. Then got black mesh which looked good but soon black was getting chipped away looking a bit tatty again. So got some mesh enamelled in black which enamellers said would last and has a bit better but suffering again now. I just want original sport grille mesh but without the little panel bit where the sport emblem goes. Can remove the sport emblem ok but fiddly to remove the little panel bit it's fixed on. Seems that's attached to the mesh then the whole lot is dunk coated. Anyone know of a black plastic mesh that's sturdy enough for this use anywhere ? Bit fussy I know Comes with age I guess TG
  24. From your Lexus / Toyota dealer for about 65 quid :duh: TG
