Well tomorrow I will be parting with my beloved 12 year old IS220d SE, I've owned this car from new and can honestly say that it has been trouble free motoring. With only 85k on the clock Lexus only offered me £2k on a trade in. Will be picking up my new RX450h F-Sport on Saturday, can't wait 😀

I have had my 55 plate is220d SE since new, i am now 33 years of age. I don't think it is an old mans car, the reason i got it is because i like luxuary. Also i dont want to follow the trend of everybody else on the road and have a BMW, Audi or Mercedes.

Just been to Bath and back for the weekend, went on the A43 and A34 averaging 45.2 mpg

I use a 20gig Sony MP3 player on it, so why do they call it an I Pod connection when it will fit any MP3 :duh:

Im a 31 year old male living in the east midlands and found Direct Line the cheapest at £398, that is also wih my wife on the policy. That is cheaper than what it cost me to insure my old 02 reg IS200 sport.

Today i had the moon roof open on my IS220d SE as it was a nice day, when i parked up on my driveway i left my moon roof open and loocked my car. After about half hour i went outside to wash my car and found all the windows were open, has any body else experianced this.

the turbo will only be full boost it you have the throttle wide open. The IS220D and the Avensis 2.2D use the same engine, a 2.2l D4D. Has anybody been on TOC, do the Avensis 2.2 owners also get poor mpg? I was told by lexus that the engine in the IS220d is not the same as the one in the Avensis, but a completley new engine design for the lexus, made of aluminium. If you look at the figures the BHP, Torque and fuel ecconemy is a lot better on the IS220D

I have recently recieved my IS220d SE with MM, but have one question. When i use the voice activation to change the car temp a yellow bar shows up on the screen under A/C, does this mean the aircon is on or off. :duh:

I have traded in an IS 200 for the IS220d SE model and can safely say im impressed. The diesel is quicker than my old car and has a lot better fuel consumption. On the IS 200 would get around 370 miles to a full tank. In my IS220d i get around 470miles. Yes the gearing is hard to get use to but sixth gear is really for motorway driving, i mostly drive in 4th and 5th between sppeds of 40 and 60mph. You could get a BMW, but i look at it this way, every other car on the road is a BMW.
