  1. Thanks again guys, worked like a charm, seems nothing needed resetting either!
  2. Thanks Dave, and Herbie and Britprius for the help! I feel much better about it now. Will post an update when complete.
  3. I thought so, thanks John. I guess I'll go ahead and change the battery. I was looking at jump starters too recently. The NOCCO Genius Boost looks really good the GB70 would be more than enough. But yes a low output trickle charger would be a good thing to have. Would you be able to recommend one?
  4. I don't have a second car, I do have jump leads, and I do have a charger that a friend gave me a few years ago. Have only used it once to try charging a battery that ended up being dead. I'm not sure it's a good one though. It's a Maypole MP7418 8 Amp. Says suitable for petrol cars and vans over 1800cc or diesel. Thing is it need to be plugged in and I could never get it to reach the car from the flat. Thanks for the seconding John it does have an electric SR 🙂
  5. Hello Herbie thanks a lot for the reply. Not worried about radio presets, and that I also read that as it has an intelligent box, sorta learning your driving style, and that driving experience may seem different as it resets that too However I've not heard about resetting windows. Would you mind elaborating ? Will I find info on that in the owner's manual? So you're sure about the security system? A lot of videos on the subject say it'll mess with the electronics but most involve newer cars. I worry because I'd imagine that getting that sorted would be very expensive and I don't wanna have to give the insurance co. any reason to write it off. It was my late Father's and there's a lot of memories and sentimental attachment there. She's in bloody good nick at only 71500 miles, just the book value is so low now.
  6. Hello All, My battery is dead and needs replacing so I bought an identical replacement delivered next morning by Tayna. I understand that it is good practice to connect another donor battery to keep the electronics alive while you switch out the dead one. I don't have a second good battery to do this. Can it be done with just the one new battery connected to the dead one? I am concerned that the immobiliser will not let me start the car after I change them out. However some cars are OK with this it seems as they are older with less electronics to mess up. My question is for those experienced with the IS200. Has anyone swapped their battery without a 'tender' battery and had any issues ? Will a 2001 IS200 SE Auto be OK to start after swapping out the battery with a loss of power to the electronics, and if so how do I go about getting it going again? Obviously trying to save some money by not having the garage do it. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated as I'm immobile at the moment. Thanks in advance 🙂 Stu.
  7. Hi there. A few questions.. I need to get my service done as I think it's due at 60k and I'm at 55K but not had it serviced since I got it, as I've only done about 3K miles. I had the air con serviced seperately, and just had a mechanic mate do the il/filter change. Car runs great. Can anyone tell me the best dealer to get the service done in the west london area ? I think I'm gonna replace the air filter with a K&N as they seem to get good reviews, (will it give me noticably better response etc in you're experience guys ?) so I've saved a lot. How much can I expect to pay for the rest ? I'll probably wanna get the belts changed even though they look fine. Thanks.
  8. Hey there ! Havn't been on here for a while. - Just seen those dials, they look superb ! I'd be very interested in an auto set too please ! with the lexus logos only. What sort of price would we be looking at for a kit ?
  9. Hi all :) I found this thread as I was looking for info on this subject, and instead of starting a new topic I would just like to explain my issue and if u can guys tell me whether I have a serious problem or if I can simply solve it the way this thread describes. I am getting the handbrake warning light on permanently except in my situation, yes I do have load resistors fitted to the brake lights as I have leds in there. This of course causes the orange bulb out warning to light, which has always been the case. I can solve this with 2 resistors on each side but never could be bothered hehe. Now, the handbrake light never used to come on until recently, which I've read on here LR's can cause this to illuminate too which is what leads me to believe the LR's arn't at fault. When I raise the HB the light slightly brightens. I checked the owner's manual which says to take the car to lexus asap if this light stays on, however I have no problems with the car. I just recently got it MOT'd with no probs. I had the brake fluid topped up, which resulted in the light going off for a couple days. I thought that perhaps this was caused by some moisture or something in the brake fluid that was setting off a sensor. The light is back on now, and it's bewildering me. I think I will reove the LR's I have on at the moment, but do u think this is just a sensor problem or should I be more concerned ? - Any help is appreciated. Happy new year ! :)

  11. LMAO it was like a delayed reaction on the second guy. When he started to jog away was the point where I think he realised he just had a real lucky escape hehe.
  12. Yep me too lol - Welcome to the club mate :) Very nice, looks mint.
  13. apparently if you click a link by these 'phishers' they can see your internet history and see what sites you have been to, if you have been to any bank sites they can then make up realistic looking fake emails. NEVER CLICK ON LINKS IN AN EMAIL FROM SOMEONE THAT YOU ARE NOT 100% SURE ABOUT Yep Big time. I've had severral recently, sent them to e-bay who said they were fake spoofs. They can get quite convincing, so if in the slightest doubt, send it to the security centre and they'll tell u within a short space of time..
  14. Welcome to the club Sven :)
