  1. this was lexus i tried, but the toyota dealers are all in one and the bottle just says "75w90 gear oil toyota" and on the back it says only use as gear oil? So u reckon all will be ok if i put that in the diff? What does API Gl5 mean? (Dosent say this on the bottle!)
  2. you put the 75w90 in the diff, yeah??does the fact its a LSD make any differance?
  3. I was at my local dealer last week getting gearbox oil and differential oil and they gave me 75w90 genuine toyota gear oil and said thats what you use in the gearbox and the diff. But my book says that the diff should be 80w90? will this be ok or should i go back? And how much oil is needed for the diff?

  6. just a quick question, is this castrol gtx magnatec 10w40 a fully synthetic??anyone use it? http://www.castrol.com/castrol/productdeta...ntentId=6008732 And the reccomendation by castrol for the is200 is EDGE 0W-30 OR Alternative recommendation GTX MAGNATEC 10W-40 ?? Which is better?
  7. does anyone have a part no. for the black leather armrest off the dealers or fitting instructions?any help much appreciated :)
  8. I remember reading a link about someone on here selling them but i wonder are they still available?i had one in my last car and find myself still reaching for somewhere to put my arm!
  9. Does anyone know where i can get a leather armrest for my is200 sport 2001. i want the OEM style one? cheers sean
  10. hi mate, sorry to hear about this but as you said it could have been alot worse! 1 - The quality of a repair by the bodyshop(hogans i take it) should be as new. i have only heard good things about the but as you say they arent cheap. 2 - I would stay with lexus especially as the car is that new. i would not trust the car, especially such a specific repair with someone else. And as you know there is not alot of choice in galway either. 3 - I dont think you should just patch it, i dont know how it would be sealed etc... 4 - The quote seems very expensive, but hogans are a rip-off on labour costs anyway. I dont think it would be 15 hours labour. - A possible remedy is stripping the carpets etc. yourself which is not as daunting as it seems which may reduce the labour - Try and source the parts elsewhere but this will be hard on a new model. - I would try a differant dealer such as dublin because the galway one is renound for over-pricing repairs etc. Sorry if i wasnt much help but Good luck in getting it sorted and nice to see another galway member on here!
