  3. Hi, Sky Insurance brokers who used to be advertised on this site (i'm not sure if they still are) I don't want to go into to much detail as this could end up in a legal battle however I would like to ask if anyone who has used Sky Insurance or especially their Finance company Premium First, wether you have had any complications with their service or insurance terms? Any Input would be much appreciated to further build a case file....... If anyone would rather PM me personally please feel free as the evidence suggests they may be many more disgruntled customers, LOC I hope this post is ok i'm just trying to find if any other memebers have had simmilar problems to me it could be that i'm just a "one Off" but i beleive not Regards Gordon
  4. No Mate only bought it from Lexus Oxford about 2 yrs ago......
  5. Thanks for your replies, Interesting, If they decide to stick to the rule book I may have a bit of an argument on my hands as I would not say it has perforated the body work, However in this day and age I would not expect any new vehicle to show these signs so early on in life especially a Lexus, A sign of workmanship and costs decreasing...... This is my 3rd lexus and 2nd IS200 my old V reg 9 yr old IS never a single blip in the paint or bodywork. I'll see what happens next week and keep you updated but after 7yrs of Lexus finance and 3 cars later with the existing package due to expire I'm sure they will be keen not to upset a "valued Customer" I Hope Thanks again Gordon
  6. Hi all, As the title suggests I have rust forming around the rim of the wheel arch N/S not a massive amount but rust all the same! Its an 05 IS200 47000K Can't remeber the term of the Lexus corrosion Warrenty but think its around 10yrs? Anyway my concern came when I contacted my local lex dealer they've booked it into their bodyshop next week for a look. However when I hear those words "we need to determin the cause of rust before we can decide wether you have a claim or not" obviously worries me...... Surely rust is rust and corrosion is corrosion has anyone had any experience of this before? maybe you can tell me what I might expect to hear next week and is their anything I could be doing bring on or to form rust, and void any claims.... Any advice appreciated Thanks Gordon
  7. Could not agree more mate if only everyone would stick to it. Oh and i.m a lorry driver too lol
  8. I have every sympathy with you there but just one little correction to what you say, if you pay by DEBIT card there isn't a £2.50 charge. You only pay that if you pay by CREDIT card. Dave Thanks dave just checked my satment I mst have read it wrong! maybe i can treat myself to a pint now lol Cheers gordon
  9. 05 Why? its not the one in the picture.. i've just not updted the image.
  10. As we all know money is a bit tight at the moment I dont mind admitting i'm finding it extremely difficult just to manage the day to day running costs, I've had to move house 150 miles away transfering jobs on a lower wage just to avoid redundancy, and i'm dong everything i can to keep my head above water. My car TAX bill for the IS200 came through begining of April £118 for 6 months ok obviously gotta be paid "ill put some money aside when I get paid" Pay day comes I need to put petrol in the car now that I travel 250miles a week just for work! £75 "thanks" that will last me all of just over a week! get home digs out the Tax bill ok for convinience i'll pay online log on bla bla bla "sorry Car tax is no longer £118 its now increased to £134 despite my bill stating otherwise! "yeah thanks for that" ok carry on click on pay bill supprise Suprise they want to charge me £2.50 just for using my debit card to pay online. As a result i'm sure there will be a red letter or two from a household billing company! Every where you turn goverment stealth taxes are ready and waiting to pounce and they have me right by the short and curlys i've had enough!!!!!!!! Thanks for lstening
  11. I Love the look of the New lex and the interor appears to be pretty good although its hard to tell in some of the pictures I guess ill just have to take a test drive....... And now i'm convering 300miles a week definetly a more economical option to my current IS200, Is it just me that gets anoid about vage facts and figures when showcasing new vehicles especially when you could be waiting up to a year or so just to find out? but they send you brochures to "register your intrest" and all you have is pictures.... Anyhow definetly interested and ready for a change but 22-25K!!!!!! i think ill be waiting for a few "used approved" to hit the market

  13. If you have the MM package will you not have the rear view camera built into sat nav? why waste £800 on Sensors or is the Rear camera only on the SE-L?
  14. Thanks Tommy i'll get that checked out Regards Gordon
  15. Hi all Just yesterday i developed a strange noise coming from offside front suspension when hitting a speed hump or small potholes etc etc and gradually getting worse sounds like a popping of rubber type noise when the wheel pushes up into springs......... and followed by a slight bang? sorry quite hard to describe, its definetly a suspension issue Although dosent appear to happen when wet? stearing, braking ,cornering not affected only done 44K Any ideas? Thanks Gordon
  16. thanks mate I am currently protected but I thought protected just ment that my premium would not increase the following year? Supprisingly i've still not heard back from matey that I crashed into... I left a note on his screen with my details but as yet no response
  17. Try Sky Insurance affiliatted with LOC they saved me bucket loads on my best qoute and service is friendly and down to earth
  18. Well this morning I was another victim off the slippery conditions the past few weeks i've manged not to badly being one of the 1st vehicles on the roads covered in snow as I leave for work at 4.30am This morning I was travelling up a hill in High Wycombe were last night we had around 1 or 2 cm of snow I was trundeling up the hill in a straight line at around 25mph the next thing I know i''m going sideways towards a parked car I T Boned the parked car and pushed it right up on the pavement seing extensive damage to the parked car my 1st thought (i'm afraid to say) was for the damage to my Lex when i get out to have a look i have no more than superficial scratches on my bumper and a cracked number plate, After the bang I experienced I imagend the damage to be a lot lot worse I just wanted to comment on the true strengh and build quality of My IS200 The chap following behind me said he never seen anything like it! the spin out just came from no where followed by "dam rear wheel Drive" Anyway stay safe out there and always expect the un-expected 6yrs no claims down the pan :tsktsk: Cheers Gordon
  19. Yes its another insurance post i'm afraid! Swiftcover decided to increase my premium by almost £200 this year despite having no claims and as well as loosing the 3 points I had!! so its now at £735 27 6yrs no claims no points and been with swiftc for two yrs how they can warrant putting up my premium i'm not sure!!!! but anyway after much searching the cheapest turned out to be kwik fit but i refuse to go any were near them just on principle relating to another incident! So second best is a company i've never heard of Octagon i found them through the Gocompare site seems to be reasonable but no absaloutly nothig about them has anyone had any experiences with Octagon? or should it just be a case of insurence is insurence? just a bit wary of using an unknown company. Rant over lol Gordon
  20. My 05 IS200 has started to show signs of alloy corrosion, it was bought just under a year ago from main dealer and come with a standard 1yr warranty does anyone know if ill be able to claim? and if so would they be willing to replace with only a few small signs of the corrosion? Thanks GWilso
  21. Norning all, I seem to have developed a problem with the suspension or brakes? and need your help Whilst driving at higher speeds motorway etc when braking i'm getting quite bad vibrations from through steering wheel also causing the brakes to be much less efective whilst driving around town if i'm braking over an uneven suface ie bumps potholes abs is kicking in whats this likely to be? Thanks Gordon
  22. Hi guys a while since I've been on here this is non lexus related i know but sorry I'm just so peed off I want to shout about it, story My bank the one with the horse....... Feel its OK to charge stupid amount of money for going overdrawn I've been away for a couple of weeks and come back to find a nice letter from them stating I had gone £144 into an unauthorized overdraft (I don't have any overdraft never have done never will) Before I went away I used my current account to pay of my Credit Balance and used that whilst I was away I forgot about 3 debits that were due to leave my account which had come out and hence sending me overdrawn........ Charges: £20 for every day I'm in the red up to 10 days in one month period+ £15 for each transaction they "so kindly paid for me" so the full 10 days have now passed and 3 debits were paid a total of £245 in bank charges :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: I'm just so angry and I accept that this was my error and would be a Happy to pay a "Small Charge" but £245 I mean come on this is the 1st time I've done this with this bank but when it happened with my previous bank I paid a single charge of £35 which they credited due to my good history i've phoned this bank and they almost laughed at me at for even suggesting a refund. I know there will be some people out there who feel that this is my fault and I should pay and I agree, its the level of charging that disgusts me really how the hell can banks be in so much debt with profits like this one alone and in the current climate I'm sure there is a lot more people out there racking up these charges too Thanks for listening feel better now not :tsktsk:
  23. I've heard a lot of stories regarding the sky + box failing, and having to be replaced But i'm not sure why this happens or what the problems are? I've had problems with the Box swithching itself to standby and freezing and not responding to commands from the remote, Recording programs just seem to stop recording half way through, and the prgrams that have been recorded, when played back keep jumping and freezing, Is this the same faults as the known faults? or have I sligtly different problem? Typical when I called them they would not give me a real explanation as my warranty expired 15th of this month.......................and and wanted to charge me for a new box :tsktsk: 1 phone call to the "I'm leaving you dept" and they are sending an engineer to me soon :winky: :winky: :P I was just wondering if my fault was the well known fault? Thanks Gordon
