  1. Thanks for the input guys got in touch with lexus Oxford today i'm going over for them to fix, a 10min job they reckon So no loan of 250 or 400h this time
  2. Definatly sounds like Geometry or Alignment issue if all tyres and pressures have been checked it cant be a lot else........Have you possbly klipped a kirb at some stage? because if its only happening on roundabouts then its possibly a traction problem on the leftside? I would suggest you head down to Tony @ WIM (chesham) let him put it on the ramps and work his magic
  3. The price you paid is about right From a Main Dealer Maybe thats a little high for a private dealership i've jsut bought An 05Manual with sat nav for 9K 34000, From Lexus Oxford 1.The IS is not a fast car mate 2.I agree there is not easy way of reading the Fuel consupmtion (you'll just get used to it being poor) 3.No there is no post code option 4.plenty of leg room for me and the wife but poor for rear seat passangers 5.try ebay for the boot liner or ask around on here (try the For sale Section) around £50 6.ask the dealer for evidence of the service etc etc Welcome to the club mate :D :D
  4. There is a floater type thingy in the fuel tank that measures the petrol, i guess since its been sitting for a while its got stuck pressumably telling the car there is little or no fuel, A mate has a damged or stuck floater in his 3series apparantly quite a difficult job....after contacting BMW for a price....he's decided he can live without the fuel gauge lol
  5. I've just had the tool kit out etc etc as I was checking the condition of the brake pads, Anyway I've found a small puddle of greenish presumably rain watter collecting in the boot around the offside rear bumper area??????? Its a bit worrying as its near the unit thingy for the sat nav, I've seen some posts on this before but from what i can gather (correct me if I'm wrong) this should only really occur on older IS200s mine is an 05 and only out the Lexus showroom 3months ago Can anyone tell me the cause? is it coming through the rear boot seal? or somehow spray coming through the wheel arches? Presumably this can be fixed? and will be covered by warranty? Thanks Gordon
  6. my 2ps worth Keep away from Kwik Fit and try some off the smaller dealers/tyre centres kwik fit are overpriced phone around i think you'll be supprised..
  7. Are they wearing shorts or just running around in their pants? :winky:
  8. The traction control and snow systems are both poooo in the snow twice I ended up facing the wrong way on monday morning :shutit: Before I get all the driver error comments I was one of the 1st on the road at 4.30am trying to climb steadilly up a fairly steep hill and quite a few cm's of snow, I managed to make it into the work car park in one piece after passing several ditched motors and lorrys, But when I stopped to let a collegue park in a space that was it I was stuck on the spot going backwards and forwards for a good minute or two whilst all my collegues drive around me in their 4x4s and front wheel drives but a few pairs of hands got me off the spot and into my space :winky: Monday was a bad day
  9. Insurance paying more than the car cost? I think you may have just entered the history books lol,
  10. Fancy Coming Shopping tomorrow , Thanks fo the advise mate really helped i'll let you know how I get on watch this space Gordon
  11. Ouch I guess the insurance was not enough to put you behind the wheel of another Lex?
  12. Saraj What happend to your motor mate?
  13. Everything we have discussed at half the cost OUCH..........thats seems great spec for the money I may need to re think, My experience of laptops have always been fiddly a bit slow and easily breakable
  14. after all the highly discussed problems I got rid of my 220 A few months and went back to the old IS200, I felt that lexus wern't offering me a great PX deal but guess what the car was reaching 69,000 and needed discs and pads all round so I think I made the difference in PX in savings even if they were sending the car to auction
  15. The HP one I just metioned is up at £629, But for £400-500 I can get all the same stuff with Zoostorm or LogiQ i've just never heard off these brands and bit wary of the reliability factor, I really only use the computer for internet browsing and talkng to this lot :shutit: also occasional downloads from music sites as I said, Cheap and cheerful would be great but fairly Quick and reliable is a must,(i get stressesd quickly lol) I'd love to browse more openly on the net for Pc's but but if i'm honest the current climate ties me to my trusty mail order catalouge at the minute mainly because I got a 20% off voucher (littlewoods) that brings their inflated prices back to reality,
  16. Thanks for taking the time aido really appreciate that mate, The one i'm looking at does have Vista Home Basic built in, with 3GB of ram I guess this would be good and fast enough for what I want? As described HP Intel Dual Core E2200 processor. 3Gb RAM. 320Gb SATA Hard Drive. 20in WXGA Brightview monitor. DVD writer, SATA DVD RAM double layer with Lightscibe. nVidia GeForce 9300GS graphics. 15 in 1 memory card reader. Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
  17. I'm looking to buy a new PC quickly as this one is pretty old and on its last legs, I've been looking on-line at some of the different PC's available and to someone who does not understand the Jargon is a bit baffling as there is so many out there, Could someone abbreviate these letters for me please pretty please 1.GB Ram 2.WXGA 3.Sata Hard Drive 4.Double Layer Lightscibe 5.Dual Core processor I want something that is pretty quick I don't really download that much but I do copy From Music sites onto Pc onto disc every now and again, I don't really watch movies etc etc just general internet use looking to spend between £500-600 I've been looking mostly at HP as I trust their a better brand but I've come across much cheaper brands such as Zoostroom and Logiq they seem to offer a lot more for less but are they any good? will they last? Thanks in advance
  18. Just what I wanted to hear, Thanks Daz do you have any of the prob's with the knocking noise I mentioned?
  19. It happens on both occasions all I need to do is take my foot completley of accelarator and the rev's to drop very quickly causing the car to jerk I thought it was a common problem on the IS, its mostly noticable when the engine is cold?????
  20. Hi guys I need your help and knowledge MY newish (to me) 05 IS200SE is starting to worry me a bit, When the engine is cold and I'm in 1st 2nd 3rd gear if I take my foot of the accelerator I get a real jerk as the car starts to slow I know 1st gear has always been a problem I'm used to that.....but 2nd 3rd is especially bad also I remember from my last IS a couple of years ago there was a slight jerking when depressing acc but not like this, Is this a common fault? it seems to get a lot better as the engine heats up is there an easy resolve for this? And is there anything Lexus can do (that actually works) whilst its still under warranty? And finally will this have something to do with the faint knocking noise I can hear from the offside of the car quite difficult to pinpoint exactly. But also seems to go away when the engine has warmed up. Any Ideas or Solutions greatly appreciated GWilso
  21. Hi mate Nice looking motor welcome to the LOC Mr Bones and the WIM crew will take good care of that for you
  22. Well spotted daz I missed that bit thats a relief
  23. Mine expires end of March so I will have to buy before 1st April hopefully at the old Rate.....it's just nice to know what I should be budgeting for? Have I read it all correctly though can the dam car tax really go up that much?
  24. OK maybe I'm reading this horribly wrong If you read the parker page here http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/road-tax/?deriv=16548 It suggets its only going up by £5 as its in group F 229-231 Grams of Co2 But if you go onto http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ownin...hicle/DG_172916 229-231Grams of C02 falls into Band L which from 09 Looks to be £405?
