  1. Hi all, Firstly I'd like to say thanks to Lexus oxford for the all the help they gave whilst taking my car for the re-call on the fifth injector offering collect and return from 30mile away leaving me a courtesy car in between (even if it was a yaris) and swapping the golf clubs from my car to theirs whilst i was away from work oh and the free wine and diesel went down a treat thanks!!(even if the service manager told me to my face he had carried out the work at a previous service) Firstly has anyone noticed the noise the clutch makes from outside the car when depressed? I only spotted this when one I had a hangover last weekend and I had a relative drive us all to the Golf course when he pressed the clutch it was a very noticeable squeak/straining noise from the clutch does anyone else have this can it be fixed? it must sound awful from outside whilst traveling Also the sum total of our summer "yesterday" I had all the windows down and all I could here was a kind off droning noise almost as if their was a small hole in the exhaust? I put it down to the sound of the turbo or something does anyone know what I'm talking about? or have I really got a hole in the exhaust? Anyway Thanks for your help
  2. As already stated sorry if this has been brought up already or if you already aware, The other day I was I a bit of a mad panic in the golf course car park un able to open the boot via key, exterior push button or interior push button I believed it to be a mechanical failure, But after a phone call to my local Lexus serviceman I realized I had been stupid enough to have put some Cd's in my glove box earlier that day and hit the trunk release cut of switch So if you don't know this already there you go...... you have a trunk override switch in your glove box (bottom Right) Regards Gordon
  3. Yep I came back through that road last week from Hemel Hempsted trying to avoid the chaos on the M25 I was in my lorry at 27+ degrees was stuck there for what seemed like an eternity, All them stone chippings made a right mess of the area and whats happend since that day ABSALOUTLY NOTHING its just been left!!! Rant Over Tut-Tut WIM were'nt you at the meeting Derby I think looking at Steve 2006 location. I beg forgiveness for missing the meet....... Was it good :D Nah the reason i asked where is that the main road out of Chesham suffered the same poxy deal.... They laid the tarmac, then chippings and "immediately" let the cars drive on it?!?! What a mess..... ....... In fact i had a DB9 booked and i wouldn't let the car on the ramp until the tar was worn off the tyres.
  4. Seems reasonable to me I just got a quote for the intermediate service £285 so x that by 2 and add a full service on... not sure of the cost lets say £400 (conservative) Saving atleast a couple of hundred i think Good luck
  5. Hello mate welcome to the LOC I'm in the same boat as you my cars at 70K I have the extended warranty Just be warned some items are not covered ie, Rattles and corroded wheels and quite a few other bits...... also the claims process is not quite as straight forward as the standard warranty things take a little longer to sort out/repair. The dealer can't just say yes they'll fix it as with a standard warranty they have to get approval from there insurers 1st etc etc, I suggest you read the warranty book before you decide they claim the extended warranty is as good as the normal but if you read the small print all will be revealed Cheers Gordon
  6. Fantastic response :winky: puts it into perspective thanks, Toyota it will be then I'm not sure I can warrant the extra £85 and as you say x that buy 10-12 will I really get that money back on a resale I guess not Cheers
  7. OK, so I'm feeling the credit crunch/pinch as much as the next guy with everything motor related soaring I'm watching the pennies.... My 220 is up for the 70K intermediate service £285 with Lexus I'm sorry but is it me or is that a little on the steep side? I phoned my local Toyota center and they quoted £200 I'm sure if I phoned a local back street garage it would be even cheaper still OK i know that won't happen but..... I'm not too keen on straying from the 6 Lexus stamps I have in the book already and Lexus have told me that Toyota service will not be using the same equipment or parts as they themselves would use.... is this true? does it really matter? do you think having my remaining service stamps done by Toyota will really effect the resale value? Any input appreciated
  8. Looks like a trip to the dealer then..... i'll let you know the outcome and what the problem is GWilso
  9. Since having the new Sat nav and CD player replaced under warranty all my numbers etc etc were erased from the sat nav system thingy........ I've established a blue-tooth connection with my Sony erricson W910i so I can now make and receive calls in the car but I need to transfer all the numbers from my phone to the car??? I can't remember how the salesman done it when I bought it... and the handbook is just confusing me more So far Ive gone into phone setup and pressed the transfer data button but when I do this my phone disconnects from blue-tooth when I press the cancel data transfer (because i've been waiting for 10mins with nothing happening) my blue-tooth switches on again, I've probably confused you all by now But any input greatly appreciated i'm not sure if itd something i'm doing wrong with ther phone itself or the car Cheers
  10. I went with swiftcover this year as they were the cheapest by far..... but I really should have read the reviews before hand apparently they are one of the worst performing insurers on the market with a pretty much non existent or slow claims system, Just 6months to go then I can search elswere
  11. Evening all, I've had sky+ for about 4-5months and just recently it seems to keep crashing and canceling all my requested films/programs set to record when I switch it on from standby it comes up with wrong time & date when it finally corrects itself all my programs have been deleted its only happend 4 times but starting to p me right off I'm going see if I can get this replaced by sky under the one yr warranty but has anyone had any of the same problems before I call them so i dont have to put up with the "thats unusal" scenario Anyone got a copy of last nights The Bill
  12. Welcome to the club matey Good choice happy motoring :D

  14. I hate too put a dampener on proceeding(s) but does anyone realize that just over a year ago LPG was at around 30p a ltr and is now at nearly 50p a ltr all due to tax and demand...... the more people convert to lpg the more gvmnt will slap the tax on...... LPG is a dying trade in its short existence
  15. My old IS went to Auction recently after Px what colour is it?
  16. I can just see your new Phone booking system Lexus Enquiry What do you want done,Geometry Ok Wednesday ok for you Is it modified in any way? yes nice fancy lights FXXkOFF then Naaah i would have just pushed the car out ....... Seriously though i was very worried about the car.
  17. I've been watching that the past few weeks, Must admit not a fan of scoobys or mittens, do we know waht there up against tonight?
  18. They did suggest swapping the stereo with one of theirs but then told me it wasn't an option so gave me the courtesy car As my warranty is an extended warranty they don't automatically replace the stereo with a new one they have "apparently" had to find a stereo specialist to fix the broken part...... Watch this space
  19. For those of you that read my previous post(s) re the error with my 220d CD player,Yes the same problem as the old IS (changer sticking) My local dealer (no names) Told me it would be around a week for it to be fixed as the CD player had to be sent away for repair they gave me a courtesy car as none of my sat nav air con etc etc would work, Although I love driving around in the courtesy 250 sel Auto...... its 2 and half weeks later and they still don't know when its going to be repaired I've phoned 3 times and each time they have needed to order another new part and they'll call me when its done I mean come on how long can it take to fix a Cd player? I'm actually starting to think something more sinister is going on with my car sounds stupid but hey!!! Rant over.
  20. This is for my brother but the story goes He switched the pc off at the mains whilst it was on, by accident, The pc never switched on again after that Apparently there is a visible red fuse in the back of the pc which needed replacing? The pc now switches on but when it starts up all he gets is a completely black screen with a few dots along the top left of the screen like so ........ Its like its in safety mode or something any ideas what it could be or how it can be fixed? I'd appreciate your help GWilso7
  21. Yep thats the one, This visit to Lexus service will probably be my last (in the 220) I've had enough of owning the Friday afternoon car I have a courtesy (250Auto SE-l)car for the week whilst my CD player is sent to Belgium or somewhere to be repaired as it looks like the New IS has CD player has the same problems as the old IS the service manager did tell me he had to pass the info on to the top dogs at Lexus GB and they are now worried of a reoccurring fault Yep so just a case of which 250 I wanna buy Oh and were I'm gonna find an extra 5-6k
