  1. How unbelievably dull an existence would you have to lead to actually do that !
  2. I'll be sure to give those a try but I have to say I'm not convinced. As others have commented, a large proportion of time seems to be spent charging the battery, the real benefits of battery power seem to be in stop start traffic; that being said even London traffic has not been enough to boost my mpg
  3. Just received something from Japan, need a few sentences translated.. can anyone help ?
  4. Well it has only covered 2000 miles but then again the OP has covered 10,000 miles and is getting roughly the same mpg ! Perhaps we are missing a trick ?
  5. In that case, I have to admit I am quite impressed. How on earth are you managing 30 - 32 mpg in London ? I seem to only ever average 22mpg and have come to accept it as par for the course. Pray tell in what way(s) specifically have you adapted your driving style ? Thanks in advance
  6. Well said. V8 performance at 28 - 34MPG in a Lexus 4x4 vehicle has been very worthwhile for me. And yes, 28MPG is the lowest I have ever had over nearly 3.5 years of 400h ownership. Really ? I am only averaging 22mpg but then it has only covered 2000 miles, I am crossing my fingers it will get better ! Great acceleration though B)
  7. I can't believe anyone would hack away at their car's wiring to enable the use of sat nav on the move. It seem like hard work and could go wrong when all you would have to do is pull over to change destination. You're right, I would never contemplate doing that and in fact, you no longer need to - as discussed in another thread, the latest navigation software from Lexus allows you to enter destination on the move. What is incredibly frustrating however is the lock of the mp3 folders and inability to make phone calls on the move using the touch screen keypad - the former particularly so, as once you are moving you are unable to see what other tracks are on the CD ! I completely understand the safety / liability issues involved but the simple fact is that Lexus have deemed it to be safe, for example, to fiddle with the climate control function via the touch screen on the move, yet apparently it is unsafe to see what tracks are on any particular CD you are playing unless you are stationary ! At the very least, these functions should have been enabled for the passenger to be able to use !
  8. Just wondered if anyone has tried this, as described in the thread below : http://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-second-...bypass-diy.html
  9. Spoke to Lexus today, they are unwilling to fit the unit because it is not Lexus approved... ab plus -- I see you have a 2008 RX so I am assuming you still have at least 2 years manufacturers warranty -- did you speak to Lexus to find out about any warranty implications that could result from fitting the kit ? The indirect impression I received from Lexus was that if it is not Lexus approved they will perhaps void the warranty -- is this nonsense ? I certainly hope it is... Thanks
  10. Ricochet when you say it doesn't display text, could you please be a bit more specific ? Contemplating getting the kit & if it does not display text whatsoever seems totally absurd ? Many thanks
  11. Thanks for the reply, just wondered if this would cause problems with the actual phone function of the iPhone if it is being used as an iPod in the vehicle at the same time, presumably an incoming phone call would automatically disable the iPod function ? Also, where does the iPod sit in the vehicle ? Many thanks
  12. Just found this topic -- does anybody know if it would be possible to retrofit an AUX port into an '08 RX400h ?
