  1. Hi I went onto site last night as I am convinced my car failed due to dodgy petrol. I won't be using Tesco again. Regards Jeanette
  2. Hi, I did contact club last week, my apologies still having problems getting to terms with replying to these web sites, anyway my problems are I believe now due to petrol contamination. My original problem was I started the car and then there was no acceleration, it idled but would not move, it just crawled (by the way I know the people responsible wont be Lexus drivers, but it is not nice to break down on a busy round a bout and have people waving fists at you and honking horns (maybe they don't like Lexus) . I did book the car in for a diagnostic test with a local garage, but my car is a 7 year old and the computer equipment was to modern! Anyway in the last 2 weeks I have since put more petrol in the car and it has not given me a problem my confidence has bee restored, but I know now it was the petrol, I might add I was infomed that the first indication of a problem with the petrol fault was that the engine management light stayed on, this happened to me. regards Jeanette R

  5. Hi, I do have LPG conversion. but I do so few miles I do not use it. I have been informed that if I were to do a higher mileage then I would benefit, but I must add mine was already fitted when I bought the car so I was on a winner either way. Regards Jeanette
  6. :D Hi Steve, I just logged onto internet and keyed in Lexus and finally found your site, I knew there had to be one. Regards Jeanette
  7. Just logged onto website and keyed in www.lexus. did'nt take long to find you. Regards jeanete
  8. Hello In my experience of using LPG yes you do lose power, i think the more power you have got the more you lose, but is a lot cheaper and you can always switch to petrol if you fancy a blast... The one thing that I would also advise is having Flashlube fitted. Having owned my LPG converted GS for 3 days and then having an exhaust valve go, it's £40 very well spent. My own beastie is having the head reconditioned and new valve fitted etc, luckily for a miserly £600 +vat. Better than the £3400 Lexus would have charged me. luckily the service manager at lexus recommended the place I'm getting it sorted at. Hi, Thank you for my query on mpg. However I only so about 60 miles per week, so would switching over to lpg benefit me? Jeanette
  9. Great saving. Just confuses me how there can such a difference between companies - all I can presume is that Directline have had more claims against them in the past year compared to The Halifax. My mate has just done a quote on Confused.com He is 19, with 1 years NCB, and only 2 years driving under his belt. He has been offered a deal on a Peugeot 306 Diesel (his Toyota Corolla E Reg is falling apart). One company came back with £700ish for third part fire/theft, another came back with £3000ish for the same insurance !! Just goes to show - shop around. Thanks,Alastair,I'll give you a call a little nearer the time :) To let you know, yes I am claim free, full NCB(protected),only claim was a windscreen replacement in 2003. Many thanks to Alastair and Rob at A-Plan Insurance. They kept to their word, and got me an extremely competitive package with Zurich. They not only undercut my renewal quote from Direct Line for my Lexus by £200,but they also were true to their word and mirrored my full NCB on my second car which I bought last July and for which I got no slack from DL despite being with them for 5 years. It also makes a change to talk to someone who obviously knows what they're talking about, giving a personal service, rather than speaking to someone in a vast remote call centre, where they sometimes don't give the impression about knowing anything about cars and you get the impression you're just a number. I can thoroughly recommend A-Plan insurance,so give them a try when you're looking at renewing your insurance. :D Great saving. I admit to being over 40 (being a female this is unusual), but I do have full no claims bonus and can get fully comp for just over £300. per annum. 10. Hi there, Although I do have a Gs300 se auto, I am not the person to ask the price as I was fortunate to have mine bought as a gift. But like you I have a 22 year old Merc 230e which never lets me down and also flies through its MOTs, l love my old Merc, but it has to go, I wish I could store it, mind you I must say the Lexus is magic! Regards Jeanette
  11. I have recently acquired a 1998 GS300, the previous owner had liquid gas installed, I dont do a lot of mileage and the car has only done 35000 would my using the lpg hamper the engine performance in any way? Jeanette
