  1. Have you tried going into the memory icon and formating the card? This may help.
  2. It was installed through work (Orange) and they did a great job, and fairly easy to do apparently. Didn't ask Lexus as I think it is a factory order item through them.
  3. I've got a Motorola IHF-1000 fitted to mine which is the one Lexus will do if you don't have the MM. Works great, only problem was my crappy N73 wouldn't connect to it so now swapped that for a SE850i and works a treat again :D
  4. Mine beeps too, only when it's really starting to slide though. Puling away sharply gets the light, anything that is moving towards a broadside slide gets the beep sounding :)
  5. I'm sure a nice word in the repair guys ear will get that sorted at the same time, I had two bits of damage on mine but as they were from different events the insurers wanted double excess (not that I was fussed as it was out of the company cash not mine luckily ). Had a chat with the body shop manager and he did both under the same claim as the info was sent to the insurers by mail with digi photos so didn't have much explaining to do why when the rear o/s window was smashed it scratched the rear n/s bumper - he even managed to get me a new set of valve caps from Lexus at the same time as some little scrote had nicked these for a second time! :D
  6. That's a real shame, just make sure you check everything very carefully before accepting the car after repair. I had some damage fixed on mine from an approved (by the insurers not Lexus) bodyshop and they did a fantastic job so not all are bad. I think the post title is ridiculous however, quote or not. If it's possible to change this (mods?) I think it is offensive and even in jest, I can't see how it's funny or even related to a car being hit. title altered :)
  7. Welcome back matey - I did check the 'Who's on line section' to see if you were still browsing but didn't catch you :D Glad the car is sorted, all's well that end's well - Where's Eunos, not heard from him for a while
  8. I'm at Orange as well if you have no luck getting hold of Kazi. :)
  9. At the end of the day if you ask the LOC brethren whether you should swap the bimma for the Lexus then they'll say yes. Much the same as if you asked the Audi forum whether you should shop it for an A8, they'll also say yes! I think you need to go and have some test drives (as hard as that appears ) and choose which car best fits your needs be it comfort, sporting pretentions, space etc and then the other factors such as economy. Once you have decided the car you'll then need to spend time on the appropriate forum looking for information, pitfalls, servicing/maintenance info and maybe even a club members car which'll more likely than not have been looked after. I suppose if you're already on here looking for info I reckon your mind is made up :D , start trawling the adds or ask on here if anyone has a decent one for sale :winky: You'll be grinning from ear to ear in no time.
  10. That's amazing, the bit in the park is just genius! :P
  11. I think this bit of info needs a bit more explaining - you may well be the first.. What's the spec changes? Effect on consumption? Effect on low end lag/driveability? And probably should ask about cost I suppose
  12. or grip knob and turn car :P What a superb idea
  13. It shouldn't drop the call though, can you not just pick up the handset when you turn the car off and finish the call?
  14. It doesn't cut out and I don't see a problem with this, if you are leaving the car it's no effort to press the button to turn it off really.
  15. but i thought the rear view mirror vibrates on the new IS220d because of the vibrations from the diesel engine? Only if you are going slowly in 6th, for the standard geared models around 60 will get some vibration but you only going at 1500rpm so the car is hardly trying. The bass is the worst cuplrit though, the stero really kicks it out :D
  16. Going serious for a moment, the lower leg results are dissapointing. Although NCAP refer to the knee airbags and the Lexus claim of less damage to the legs, the brake pedal moving into the cabin by 100mm is surpising. I thought the old Audi safety system (from the 95 A4 onwards!) pulled the pedal box away from the driver in an impact I'm sure that could have been rectified in the new IS though. The rest is good news though, apart from flying, spinning pensioners of course..
  17. The car has full opening/closure from the key. When you walked away you must have pressed the open button (were the keys in your pocket?) for a few seconds which starts to wind the windows down. It stops when you stop pressing the key rather than go all the way down with a single press. It's happened to me when I bent down next to the car once, just more careful now.
  18. I can tell you're impressed with my computer wizadry Original version for me as well me thinks, the flat window line makes it look like the back of the car is sagging down....
  19. Through the magic of MS Paint (no comments on my art skills please :duh: ), I prefer the angled version as it gives the car a more purposeful look, and as it's only sheet metal from the outside so having it or not doesn't affect the internal dimensions. Referring to Jamboo's coupe comment - someone where I work didn't realise mine was a 4dr car B)
  20. Can't imagine what would make a step change like that in ride comfort, I'd start with tyre pressures first though just to make sure they are all correct. Rich.
  21. It is worth keeping some, mine needed topping up at 7k miles and at its 10k service last week they noticed an oil leak from the top of the engine which now means it's got to go in for three days at the end of the month - worth keeping an eye out for if you have a 220d.
  22. Ouch - hope you're OK. Probably not the right thing to say but I really like the photo, if it wasn't of a damaged car it'd be fantastic :D
