  1. You can ditch the avitar of the old supra now for a nice shot of the LS :winky:
  2. You forgot the 10mmspanner and the condom... cos if the tools including the hammer don't work - F*&% it! Sorry, I'l get my coat...
  3. Hi Mark, You don't say if you are looking for original alloys or other lexus alloys or even aftermarket? I for one have a set of originals kicking round but they're a bit scabby and would prob need a re-furb.
  4. Hey Ontheroad, why did you get your screen changed? chip / crack? I have the standard issue scuffs in the glass from age and hardened wipers with grit embedded, want to get it changed but the chuccking a brick at it to bust it option seems extreme to get it changed!
  5. I'm running 18 x 8 with 235 x 35 tyres, there's loads more room too. There's loads of the US fellas with pimp chrome 20's, should fit without mods depending on ride height... if that's your thang :winky:
  6. OUCH! I would definately explain your situation to lexus UK or head office in Japan. Toyota operate a fair value policy which covers events like this that happen to people that for some reason are not covered or are just out of waranty. Can't hurt to try, especially as you had no warnings come on.
  7. perhaps we could mage one good one between us... once open, mine won't stay closed! - currently has a high tech blu tac device holding it shut. S1 doesn't seem to have a light though, design must have changed.
  8. Don't say that Maneesh! The more gold and chrome the pimper your ride :winky:
  9. Wow, that realy does say a lot about the 400... I'd love a 430, what was it that wasn't quite right for you? You can buy 10 520's for what I bet you got for your 430, why not get her a gs300, keep it in the lex family? :winky:
  10. Unfortunately I'm not joking When you've been around the lowrider comunity for a while you realise there is often no payback in buying expensive solutions to lower 500quid's worth of old merc or similar. There's an LS in the LORDZ loweriders runining round with cut down springs an a very battered front valance (doesn't like speed bumps). I am a little ashamed to admit it, as I now love my LS, but I bought it as a stop gap while I was looking for a big old merc to pimp and add juice. I nearly cut the springs on my LS but decided that I liked how smooth the ride was so left them. Acording to the guys at LORDZ, when I got a price for an air system for the LS, there were no others on air or hydraulics in the UK...
  11. my wife won't even drive my LS, she says its too confusing because it's not got enough pedals! we bought her a deisel as it's our family car to do all the miles, but over the last 3 months were averaging 7k/yr in hers and 12k/yr in mine! thank goodness for the LPG. hope you gat your insurance sorted though, you claiming on car ins or house ins?
  12. I just had the 'LEXUS' badge taken off the back, left the 'L' though, like the symetry. there are quite large holes once the plastic insersare removed, will just fill in without welding though. I f you want to go lowthere's a really cheap way, then coilovers (which I found on previous cars a pain in the asss) and the propper way... 1. cut the springs down... all you need is a trolly jack and an angle grinder, rough as f@£& but very effective, long term will not do the rest of the suspension any good either. 2. Adjustable coilovers 3. take it max hydraulics and for 2.5 - 3K get a 1/2" line fast air kit with 4 corner individual control on lower. smooth ride and as low as the foor pan will allow. :winky:
  13. 89-92 are a safe bet as S1 small discs with 2 pot calipers, around 93 there was a face lift and the wheel size went up from 15 to 16", the brakes on the front were uprated at this time too. if yours is 95 then it's most likely the S2 brakes. do you have standard wheels? are they 16"
  14. the one that came off, I toook the boot off and the piston is pitted so a seal would not cut it. I speke to Lexus Leicester and they said they could get a seal kit but not the piston, seal kit alone was over £40 plus vat!
  15. Is the wobble worse under load or free wheeling or braking? agree with ontheroad, fleabay is ded cheap for brake pads, wipers, stuff like that. several brakers for second hand bits on there too.
  16. Hi Folks, has anyone purchased themselves a second hand front brake caliper? Just wondering what they are going for and how you got on? my driver side seized up so I had to get one today. Also, I think that S1 to S2 the calipers changed, I think from 2 pots to 4 pots, is that right? The reason I ask is that the car I got a caliper off was H reg and it looks slightly diferent to the one I took off (mine's a K plate), mainly due to the position of the brake line. Pistons are the same size, it mounts the same and seems to work just fine! maybe my mpg is about to go up... must have been binding for hundreds of miles!
  17. Well done Steve, you gettin the hang of this techno thingy... :winky: lovin the carputer, would love to try it, but no time. realy want a screen so I can have a reversing camera, not sure about the duct tape to hold the camera on though!
  18. did anyone see it, I missed it :( apparently there was a S1 with loadsa carputer stuff init too.
  19. If the red light's on the alarm is working. just try it by getting somone to press dewn the boot close light switch (so car thinks boot is shut) then lock the doors, wait a few secs then let go of the switch...
  20. either of you fellas got dark colour cars? just concerned ti might look too flashy on a dark car. either of you fellas got dark colour cars? Got a photo? just concerned ti might look too flashy on a dark car.
  21. I've had several instances lately of flat batter in the morning, I tracked the issue down to placing a 2 year old within reach of the reading light in the rear left interior/read light cluster... light on daddy, light off daddy, light on daddy, get out of car lock the doors and hey presto 6.30 am and a flat battery. I decided not to call the dealer instead I repremanded said infant and removed the bulb from the reading light :winky:
  22. Does anyone in the club own this... Like the front bumper vut the rest is a little over the top for me. Wondering if anything is done to the motor? Veilslide are a big name in modification in japan :P Would like to see a 'top secret' LS though, that would be a real beast. B)
  23. The soarer import which is basically a 2 door coupe LS, has wider rears than fronts, should work on the LS too, I have 235 x 35 x 18's and that tyre width with little wall flex does promote some tram lining. If you are running the S1 15" wheels I's stick to the 205's or get a cheap set of the S2 16's with tyres on them, often gong cheap on flea bay.
  24. just took a look, nice motor. Like the chrome on your car as it's white and a mk3. like to see the mk4 photos too, get an account with photobucket.com, it's free and ded easy to upload to. :winky: Anyonw with the chrome kit on a dark colour car?
