  1. Hi, The temperature sensor is a black box located to the right of the passenger side horn (when looking at the front of the car. I agree that it should not be that complex, although when you open up the box it has a lovely temperature sensing transducer, and half a dozen surface mount components on a pcb. I am going to try to mend it, but failing that will try a breakers yard for a replacement. After all, £108 for knowing whether it is cold outside seems extortionate. Guys, Ignore what I said about this sensor, I have just realised that this is the "sniffer" - it controls the cabin recirculatory system. If it "smells" fumes from the atmosphere, this is the unit which causes your cabin air to recirculate rather than drawing in air from outside the cabin. If anyone knows where the outside temp sensor actually is, please post on this forum. Sorry for the confusion!

  3. Hi Chips, Thanks for the link. Unfortunately I am trying to remove the CD changer from the passenger side glovebox, not the head unit itself. Cheers anyway mate.
  4. Hi, My outside temperature indicator is reading incorrectly. Today it says that it is 11 degrees outside, when it is about 5. The other day it claimed it was -20 degrees. Has anyone has similar problems at all? I have removed the sensor unit and opened it up. I will try to fix it as the replacement from Lexus is £108 Gulp!
  5. Hi all, Can anyone help me with the removal of the dash mounted CD changer in my MK4 LS400? I spent ages removing bits, but cannot work out how to do it! Thanks
  6. I have just bought a '98 MK4 myself, and have the same problem with the washer bottle float switch. The front fogs did not work either. Funny thing is I removed the plastic cover and found a connector had become disconnected, but even after connecting it I could not get the washer light to go out. Having seen your photos, and checked the car again, I have discovered that both the front fog light connectors are undone (that was the one I saw originally) and I have a faulty washer float switch. I now have two working front fogs, and a solution to the washer light problem :) Thanks for your photos, they have saved my many hours of wiring loom diagnosis.
