Hi,
The temperature sensor is a black box located to the right of the passenger side horn (when looking at the front of the car.
I agree that it should not be that complex, although when you open up the box it has a lovely temperature sensing transducer, and half a dozen surface mount components on a pcb.
I am going to try to mend it, but failing that will try a breakers yard for a replacement. After all, £108 for knowing whether it is cold outside seems extortionate.
Guys,
Ignore what I said about this sensor, I have just realised that this is the "sniffer" - it controls the cabin recirculatory system.
If it "smells" fumes from the atmosphere, this is the unit which causes your cabin air to recirculate rather than drawing in air from outside the cabin.
If anyone knows where the outside temp sensor actually is, please post on this forum.
Sorry for the confusion!
