  1. That's an option, I use Hatfield, and they suggested an IS300, I may go and have a look at the weekend, just need to sell the car privately so I don't get too :tsktsk: dealing with a trade sale so soon after purchase.
  2. Yep, decided today after the drive to work, just miss my old IS I may look at the latest IS200 I can find, I think that will be. Probably spend £15 or £16K, the rest will go on red, or maybe black, or something in the 3.15 at Newmarket :P
  3. Well, if nothing else, this car has led me to buy a Gold membership, the downside is, it's to bite the bullet, lose a few quid now, and stick it in the for sale section. Very disappointed with this one compared to my 200 :( No way is it worth to me the £16K over and above what I sold my 51 plate IS200 SE Auto/Nav for.
  4. Easiest way, find a friend with a Sony Ericsson, use SE Suite or this http://www.fjsoft.at/, import all the contacts to the SE from Outlook, bluetooth them all in one go from the SE to the car. No idea why Nokia don't have this option.
  5. Agreed, just spent 2hrs doing the 20miles to Heathrow :tsktsk: and spent most of it playing with the toys in the car, sitting in the big armchair of a seat :D
  6. It is an "infinite" method of steering, as you will never run out of the ability to steer, like you could with fixed input/rotational steering. It is also a much smoother method of steering, and as coarse steering is one of the causes of a skid, it is less likely to induce skidding. There is also some more modern reasons, like not having your arms thrown into your face if they are crossed during an airbag activation, but the original thinking behind it is the stuff in my first paragraph. Cheers
  7. Has anyone found a solution for a proper in car Ipod kit? I love using the Ipod through the aux, but it's frustrating not being able to stop/start it etc. My mate has an Ipod kit in his Merc (not cheap £300) but it does all the Ipod controls through the steering wheel.... As we drive a superior car, do we have such a thing :P
  8. Well after a bit longer with my car, the relationship seems to be improving :D I've driven her a bit more in anger now, using manual mode, and she is actually setup quite nicely. Annoying that the paddle changes move with the steering wheel, so you are always trying to guess where they are, not ideal for me, as you feed the wheel, get the steering set, then think, where are the paddles, but hey, the gear stick is there to change gear with. Fuel consumption averages 29.5mpg, and all my driving is suburban, round trip commute to work is 15 miles a day, and I am now 2 days short of a fortnight between fill ups, though it will probably needs filling up today. I can live with £100/mth of fuel. So, all in all, a lot happier :)
  9. I take it that getting this after submitting a report is not a good thing :( Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e57' [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][sql Server]String or binary data would be truncated. /include_standard.asp, line 126
  10. Has anyone else experienced caller ID problems in the MM on their IS250? Noticed caller ID didn't come up when a friend called today, just his phone number. After some playing about, discovered that if the number is in the MM as +44 xxxx you wont get the name come up, if it is 01234 it does. Pretty poor, as who doesn't roam these days and keep numbers in their phones in international format :(
  11. But before I find a nice open window, several stories up, does it vary by £3K :D
  12. Is that a realistic formula? I paid £26500, for a 10K miles ex-demo, which would have been £30,500 new. Using your formula, I should have paid around £23,500. Is this the kind of prices you guys are paying for your used cars :o
  13. Hi Chips....It's getting on for two weeks of driving it now, and, well, it's ok.....Unfortunately it hasn't sent me over the moon in love like my IS 200's did (two of them), they have gone a lot more luxury saloon with this one, where as with the 200 I felt it was setup with the perfect mix of sporty and luxury, this one is total luxury. My fault for not testing the various incarnations of the car, but I went straight for the SE Auto, which was the equivalent to the IS 200SE Auto I had. Sounds weird to say that I am not over the moon with it, as there is nothing to dislike, I'd have just liked a bit more of a driving experience, which I feel the 200 delivered but the 250 doesn't. Anyone else feel like this, or is it just me?
  14. Thanks Gents...well so far so good. The dealer has been very attentive, it is my 3rd car from them, the first two were a 1999 IS200 and then a 2001 IS 200. Just heard from a friend, he went from Merc S Class to LS430, then to a Bentley, dissatisfied with that he has come back to a new LS....One up for Lexus :)
