  1. as said above really. could just be as simple as a dodgy Lambda sensor (in the exhaust) or iffy MAF/MAP (mass air flow) sensor. does it go into a limp mode at all?
  2. beige ??.......is that a new colour for lexus !! Gold, Beige, champagne metallic. whatever you wanna call it, I dont want one :) Our transatlantic friends seems strangely drawn to beige. weird i own a damietta quartz IS200, bought it as i like the colour and has black interior. i'm not concerned about value loss as i've owned car/colour i like . :) And thats exactly the point isnt it? If you buy for a good long time and arent worried about resale values you could have a pink one! with a brown and orange aligator skin interior on 30" wheels with a lift kit. When you come to sell it however, the taget market will be more limited than say Silver with black leather ;)

  4. Personally, when I go for my next IS200 (April/May time hopefully) Colour will play a part I will not buy a green or beige one (no offence to any green or beige owners) Colour preference: White, Black, Blue, Silver, Red In that order. :)
  5. I'd suggest it is worth investing in some colour chips from House of Kolor, these are great (in daylight) for seeing the final effect you can expect. and HOK do make some of the best paint ..... (3 sec clarkson pause) in the world! Ice white pearls look awesome in the flesh

  7. I personally don't think you'll see the 2001-2006 cars penalised. The retrospective VED increase was unfair in the extreme. It also affected S2000 owners in the same way (over the G threshold by 2g/km). hopefully this plus the "rejuvination" plan will see residuals stabilise trhoughout the used car market as people now know where they stand. I would have preferred to see Mr. Darling come out with a flat "the retrospective VED increase for 2001-06 cars is scrapped." hoever as that would have left no room for confusion. Still say they can't be trusted to run a bath though, letalone the country!
  8. I took the lid off mine to get the CD'S out, then had it replaced, as it had given err1 as well. not recommended of course...;)
  9. Yep I wanted to show you all what it would look like with em on. even the car is virtual now as it is sold! sadly. do look nice though right?
  10. Sorry to hear about that Paul, I had to let mine go recently because of the fiscal requirements so I know how you feel. On the wheels front however I urge you all to be aware that the refurbed set I got when mine were changed under warranty suffered from poor laquer adhesion. I had new tyres on them and the Chimp fitter managed to get the tyre machine too close resulting in a scrape. this however chipped a lot of laquer off the rim even in places where there was no damage to the alloy. upon closer inspection 3 of the 4 wheels on the car (I only had 2 tyres fitted) had Milky patches appearing around the wheels some on the rim and some on the spokes. I was told this is probaly due to a stone chip. to which I replied "is thiss what will happen if I get a stone chip on the bonnet then?" Needless to say the wheels will be replaced under warranty again. Are dealers being pressured to fight back more by Lexus GB here I wonder? I hope not as the Customer service reputation sells more Lexus than they realise and if they lose it then it will be very difficult to get back.
  11. mine worked then packed in then worked then went bang altogether, err1 get it changed my friend it WILL go.
  12. We @ unity lowriders have had a little bit of experience with TV (including Top Gear) frankly it can go either way. Editorial control is the key and you dont have that I'm afraid. We're all guilty of looking at our cars and thinking "how can they NOT be interested" this stems from the fact that you have "bought in" to the car psycologically when you made the decision to purchase and therefore feel positively disposed towards it. Outside of this pseudo-reality others do not necessarily feel the same connection. It's all part of what makes us individuals and is therefore by and large a good thing. However it does lead the TV editorial staff to turn down a lot of what people sending them in feel are "superb ideas for a feature". Normally the ideas that reach the screen are from within , and you generally find it really tough to introduce one from outside. but having said that the best way to approach it, should they take you up on the idea, is to listen to what they want for the feature and try to read a little between the lines. A healthy dose of GSOH will be required with Mr. Clarkson on the case, of that you can be sure! Good luck men! :D
  13. Brettster, I sat and thought what are those T shaped itens on your bonnet in the avatar... then I thought wow thats one shiny drive, did he have the concrete polished? THEN I thought, oh its a model....DOH! Its been a long day.
  14. Should be virtually "unsinkable" then, sorry I had to your right though its a lifestyle estate. you've got the lifestyle? then buy the estate.
