  1. Cheers Maneesh, thanks for the info. Got a quote for 2nd hand sensor with 30 day warranty from UK. They want £96! Think I'll try the yanks. Paul
  2. Hi all, I have a problem with my '93 LS400. As the engine starts to warm up, (3-4 miles), between 16-18K rpm the response gets very "plucky" until I slowly accellerate through. At higher revs the roughness is less noticeable but still there. Also the emmissions smell slightly "eggy". My mate (a fomer Lexus main dealer service manager) has been in the diagnostic port and identified a Code 25 fault. Using the service manual he then did a basic voltage check on the OX1 and OX2 sensors and found while OX2 showed the correct fluctuations identified in the manual, there was no change of voltage at all in OX1. He recons because OX1 is temperature dependant the heater element in the sensor is duff. Any thoughts would be most welcome and if he is correct what should I expect to have to pay for a new sensor? Paul
  3. Hi all, has anyone experienced engine "plucking" when driving in the rain. I know it may sound daft but my '93 LS400 series 2 really would prefer to stay in the garage on wet days. The plucking is most noticeable around 40-45 mph but when I accelerate on it seems to improve although not as smooth as driving in the dry. Being a complete duffer with engines it seems to me something is getting damp - but what! Any thoughts? Cheers, Paul J
  4. Hi Dave, thanks for the swift response. I'll take your advice on the tacho needles - who needs to know the speed anyhow! Seriously though, I'll leave them a while and see what happens. I am keen to sort out the CD changer so a friend (former Lexus Dealer Service Manager so he should know what he is doing) has offered to remove it from the boot and give it a look over - I'll keep you posted on progress. Thanks for now Paul
  5. Dear all, as a recently new owner (1 month) of said LS400 I am currently experiencing one or two problems and am hoping some kind soul out there may be able to help/advise. 1. Err message (no number) when try to use CD. The unit will recognise which trays I place CD's in but will not read the tracks or play! Is this repairable or is it fix with a replacement. If so any ideas where from and price. I have tried the ususal e-Bay and AutoTrader and had one quote from a breaker supplies of £249.00 for a replacement with only 30 days warranty! 2. Speedo needle illumination starting to fade from outer tip. In low light I can see the illumination trying to recover but so far (1 week ago) nothing doing. Other than the above I am, so far, very please with the car and hope to continue to be so. Any help/advice would be most gratefully recieved. Cheers, Paul
