Rather than use engine flush, I would suggest getting a fairly cheapish oil (but must be of the correct grade/spec)
and just draining the current oil, replacing with the new oil and then going for a drive, then running down to the garage. It will clean out nigh on as much as the flush, but there is no chance of any engine flush traces being left
inside the engine to contaminate the clean new premium oil.
On the other hand I may well be talking complete codswallop but thanks to Kenmac for the tip :) as I do think
there is some sound reasoning behind it. Don't forget the oil can be budget such as a supermarket own brand,
but it must be of the correct grade/spec.

You can get a freeware program called Audiograbber that can rip you CD collection to 320kbs Mp3,
and it will get all the required CD Text/ID3 Tag info. Then you can burn copies of your own CD's
that will then display all the correct information (cd burner/software permitting).
Alternatively if the '05 MK3 stereo plays MP3 Cd's, you can get approx 4 times as many tracks @320kbs
on a single CD and the sound quality difference will be negligable.......
If you need Audiograbber I can send it to you if you PM me your email address.

so now when we go shopping the back seat becomes my boot.lol
I know that problem !!

The problem with fitting the amp upside down is usually poor heat dissapation, as Redz suggested above,
neat MDF panel with the wiring hidden is porbably the best bet, or mounted on the sub box. also if you are
going down this route I have seen some chunky quick release connector blocks online that can be used for
the power wiring for quick release/box removal.

JL Audio 500/1 Amp & the JL12W6 would be good for the bass, plus using a single 12" would leave you more
space in the boot, and make construction of a false floor with access to the spare wheel easier. Also the JL 300/4
get my vote everytime mate, I had a nice Alpine V12 4 channel previously in my car, and was very pleased with the sound, but the 300/4 moved the sound quality up a fairly big notch.
If you bargain hunt and are careful, you may be able to pick the amps up cheaper on eBay, but I would personally buy the subwoofer brand new of possible. Then nice big n chunky power cable etc and maybe some dynamat for the
front doors and inside the boot/back seat and you will be kicking mate
The Kenwood amps are ok, but I wasn't that impressed with the Kenwood Mono Sub amp I had previously in my car
(rated at 1000watts r.m.s), I changed it to the supposedly lower power rated JL Audio 500/1 and was bowled over
by the difference in sheer grunt plus increase in the quality & control of the bass from the JL amp.
You know what you are doing bud, but if you need a helping hand just let me know :)

Dimitris I don't think that blog gives an entirely faithful picture, plus much more horsepower was released from
the engine (Dave Read's car) with minor work completed elsewhere..... search is your friend :)
Personally speaking, when the funds allow for me to start looking at engine/supercharger upgrades/tweaks hopefully
later this year, I won't be going to TDi to get the work required done. There have been many bad things stated by
LOC members (on and off forum) about work done there.
I do however have to concede there has been some staff changes, so things may well have changed.

I had a similar issue before, have you had the dash apart recently ?
check the connection multicore plugs behind the speedo binnacle & ac unit.

You need to check the LED's with a meter, sounds like there is a wiring fault or they are earthing somewhere.
Did you fuse the LED's ? If they are the strips people use for headlamp eyebrows I do hope so :o

Gla to see you are all sorted Steve, looks a great job :D

Were you thinking of trading in your car for that Stav ?
So funny, worth the cash just for the looks on peoples faces at a meet

Hi mate,
are you talking about shop bought CD's or ones you have burnt yourself ?
Most shop bought CD's won't have the CD-Text information on them (still can't believe this but it's true :o).
With ones you burn yourself, you need to make sure the ID3-Tag (hidden in the music file) has the correct
information, this should then be displayed when played through a suitable stereo that reads the ID3-Tag info.
This should be the same for Audio Cd's or for Mp3 CD's, but does depend on your burner being CD-Text
capable, and the burning software you are using.
I use a program called ID3-Tagit to alter/edit/add/remove etc the ID3-Tag info, but some programs you use
to rip files to your computer will name files for you automatically by searching the internet for the info :)
I hope this helps you :D

Just caught up on our progress Dave. You're a nutter
360 odd bhp would normally be enough for most people, I look forwards to seeing it in the flesh :D
Just one quick question, will you ever have enough of the addictive drug called "power" ?

3rd run looked really good :D
Big Thankyou!
