  1. No for me.....the contract for my IS220d SE runs out at the very end of Oct and I'm changing it to a Freelander 2 HSE. Last year, the car broke down on the motorway 7 times......got to the point that I was on first name basis with the RAC men. The VFD warning sign would come on and the car went into 'limp home' mode (20mph). It took Lexus 7 tries to fix the problem. The worst was between the 3rd and 4th time, picked up the car and broke down again that evening. As for economy, I read with envy what others get. My average mpg is around 37mpg. Only last week (thats after 2years and 10months of owning the car) I have finally discovered how to get around 45mpg on the motorway......in 5th gear driving at 60mph, with a lot of rolling involved. Every time I'm at Lexus, I laugh at the IS220d poster saying something like 55mpg....... I've found the paintwork to be uber soft, and have had a lot 'clack' coming from the dash from the 1st week.
  2. My IS220d broke down last week due to the 'Check VSC' problem. Even restarting it would result in about a minutes drive before I'd lose power. Had it towed in, and they rang me the next day and told me about the 5th injector recall. Picked it up yesterday and got my wine and free bit of fuel. I've had this car for 18months and the best mpg I got was around 40mpg, with recent averages at 37mpg (35mile motorway commute each way). It does seem less thirsty after the recall.
  3. I use this cable, but you'll also need to get a 12v 'multiplug' as the plug on the cable is too tall to have plugged in and close the centre compartment.
  4. My 2 pennies. I've got a 56 IS220d, driven over 3000miles already, have yet to encounter one single rattle/squeak/snap/etc. Comsumption I'm getting is better than the figures I've read here, started off with about 33mpg for 50/50 drive, and now get 37mpg light urban and 42mpg motorway, and I drive with a heavy foot.
  5. One thing I don't like about its design is that 12v socket in the arm rest. Nearly every car plug I plug in are all very tall, and with one plugged it, it isn't possible to close the arm rest. The 12v socket is one a raised 'shelf' in the arm rest compartment, why couldn't they make it lower down?
  6. I got mine the same way you did, and had to wait over 3 months for it, as it was shipped from Japan. There was a scare at one point as their as a news article of a freightliner that had had an accident from Japan half way into the wait!
  7. Just like to add that the 56 IS220d that I got about 3 weeks ago is what Jambo says a 2007 one as the buttons are side by side. BTW? Whats the difference?
  8. What engine oil is best used for the IS200d? TBH, I've never been very 'good' in knowledge about this even with a petrol engine.
  9. hmm.... both on the left hand side, and this guy doesn't have a sunroof, so my bet's on it being the filler cap.
  10. Got a few body bits here: http://www.evolutionr.co.uk/ including the rear spoiler people were thinking of importing in. But I prefer this spoiler: http://www.evolutionr.co.uk/index.php?prod...egory_id=130110
  11. And how about Birmingham or Telford? And what is the current law on window tinting?
  12. 31, picking up my 1st Lexus end of next month. Looking at the previous posts, never realised that Lexus drivers are so young!
  13. Oh well, guess I'll have to grit my teeth and cope without it.
  14. Hi there! New to the forums, but I've been lurking about and reading up on what you've guys have written. As a new company car, I've ordered a while back a new black IS220d SE with front and rear parking sensors, oh and black leather interior as well. If I had stumbled on this site soon, I would have opted for the Multimedia package as well. The car will be at the dealership in late Oct (as its been shipped over from Japan), the question I have is, if I opt for the MM package now, can they change it at the dealership? Or does it need to go back to somewhere (as it might be a tricky job?)
