  1. The 7025 I mentioned is touchscreen yes, great unit with excellent quality. We're actually debating whether my new Alpine is actually any better. Try the website 'caraudiosecurity.com' or something, i think it was those guys were doing a good deal on em. pic of my setup...
  2. The Kenwood 7025 headunit its a great piece of kit, had it in my old car. Seems to be some real good deals available for it at the moment too online. The autoleads fascia kit makes so as you can fit it straight in, no moulding etc required Only thing is a little modding of the fascia surround to hide the gap around the screen. As for fitting, thought best to leave that to the pros so left it into my local audio store. Theres a couple of pics of how mine looks a few threads down in this section. Harry
  3. Jobs a good'un, went back up to them today and he found the rest of the fascia kit. Ended up they cut it all for me and filed down the bottom part to stop it catching when ejecting cd's. Happy bunny now, looks great and very impressed. cheers lads.
  4. yeah the bottom is'nt too bad, its the sides and top that really ruin it. All being well ill get it tomorrow and have a blast. Did you just use a standard small hacksaw?
  5. Exactly the reply I was hoping for! Thanks mate, ill get onto the company that fitted it and hope they still have all the bits anf bobs still from it. Though technicly the rest of the kit is mine anyway, should I ever decide to do single din. Dont suppose you have any pics of how yours looks?
  6. ive a feeling though with that surround that comes with the fascia kit you have to cut out the middle slat that allows two single din headunits?
  7. Yeah I thought that, just wondered if it came with this neat surround trim ive seen in other pics, or is that a part people have cut the middle slat out of? Heres my dilemma.... And how it looks with the huge Alpine surround balanced on it:
  8. Yesterday I had an Alpine W200Ri double din screen fitted to my car along with an autoleads facia adapter. Usual story of ERR3 forced me into it! Anyway, after it came out they told me the 'trim' (which is the small plastic part that goes right around the unit to hide the gap/mounting brackets) could not be fitted as it was too big. So, im left with a rather snazzy unit in my dash now but looks unfinished due to the big gap around it. Had a quick search through here and seen a few other members with the Kenwood unit fitted, I had this unit fitted to a previous car and the 'trim' that came with it from what I remember was pretty large and wouldnt fit either, but in some members pics they have a nice slim trim which just fits in perfectly and looks excellent. See here: aaannyway, just wanted to know does the autoleads facia adapter come with this 'slimmer trim' to fit the double din screen and have my audio company just forgot about it? Otherwise am I going to have to do some bodgery? I shall post a pic of how mine looks later on. Any help would be great as ive just spent the guts of a grand on this and it looks naff.... Thanks Harry
  9. Yes mate the likes of Halfords will stock all the gear you need. And nope, as long as your careful with the hose you shouldnt need to cover up anything... well i didnt anyway, though i only used a regular garden hose as apposed to a power washer.
  10. A lot of hard work with gunk, then detaring the whole thing, then polishing all metal work, doing all plastics etc... worth it though, I like to drive along knowing my car is totally mint, not just the paintwork ;) Next up, wheelarches and undercarriage....
  11. Yikes hard to tell really, seems to sit very high I reckon. Ill give a couple of my local car parts stores a call and see what sort of prices they can do me, thanks.
  12. Yeah privately and out of warrenty too unfortunatly. Probably going to change the wheels in the not too distant future anyway. But after lowering might like them a whole lot more and get them refurbished! Oh and on the topic of lowering... Not much out there that offers a decent drop apart from the tte coilovers which are a bit too much over my budget really.
  13. Turtle wax extreme car shampoo with megs wash mit AG Super Resin AG Extra Gloss Poorboys Nattys Blue, wasnt overly satisfied so... AG Extra Gloss to finish, which worked wonders. Find the sealant seems to really help it rather than the wax. AG Bumper Care on all plastics and arch liners Megs glass cleaner Megs metal polish Megs Tyre Gel Gunk Degreaser AG Tar Remover Megs Tech wax in engine bay & wheels Probably more ive forgotten about but think that covers most!
  14. Hi all new to the board and only owned the car around 3 weeks now. Gave the car a darn good scrubbing today as had the afternoon off. Mainly paid attention to the engine bay as it was real grubby! Anyway heres a couple of pics, using mainly Meguiars products and some poorboys waxes. Quite proud of this one as most people know, its hard work getting good reflections from a silver car.
  15. Perfomed a couple of tests today, lifted out the sender unit in the tank and shorted out the two lives wires to see if the fuel gauge moves up, and hey presto it did, so that left me with a faulty sender unit. Built it all up and took down my chassis, engine number etc to order the new part. Then i started it to park it again and it decided to work... Very strange! Perhaps I disturbed something and it fell into place again or maybe theres a faulty connection, ah well it works now so im doing nothing untill it stops again! Cheers for help guys Oh, anybody any ideas as to where id get another cd player? Should I just start calling round local scrap yards etc? Don't think they are coded from the factory. Its for an 00' IS Sport. Harry
  16. Hello all, new here... only owned the car a week and already having problems. Stereo is messing me around with Err3 messages and not ejecting or taking cd's,but thanks to a quick search ive found out I basicly need a new one! One other main thing which just happened this evening was, fuel ran low, light came on, 6 miles later pulled in and put in £10- only cash i had on me. So jump back into the car and notice the gauge hasnt moved one bit, drove the car home, another 20 miles and the gauge just keeps falling lower as if it totally hasnt recognised the fuel I put in, so tried another garage and stuck in another tenner. Same thing. Tried searching this a few times but couldnt find anything really relevant. Any help would be greatly appreciated, just incase its something simple before I get ripped off at my local dealer. Cheers in advance Harry
