  1. The Mole Forgive me for asking a general question on this thread but seems like a good time to ask and you're as good as any! I'm planning on getting an IS in the new future (stock market permitting!) and drove a SE last year without MM. The MM is a must for me but I'm torn on the options. Everyone seems to suggest the SE-L Auto. Are they right? I like the manual but am not fussed about swapping across. Also, how much haggling can be done on the Approved pre-owned?! Thanks Martin
  2. How do you find the boot (no I don't mean "I walk round the back"!!)? I was doing a bit of digging last night and it seems it's no bigger in volume than my Golf. Presumably I can get a set of clubs in there comfortably? Thanks, and congrats on the new purchase.
  3. Thanks Tango. I've had a similar thought, in that by reading this site reasonably regularly I'd get the impression that fuel economy was crap (I got 36mpg out of the 250 on the test drive which is better than some diesel figures I've seen quoted) and that every car rattled with every inch travelled. The fuel economy thing does seem to be an ongoing problem (Oh for the introduction of IVT!) though. Out of interest I might wander over to the B*W site (apologies for my language) and see if there are similar complaints about theirs....
  4. Thanks Chris, I suppose it is all down to what you're used to and, as you say, how sensitive your hearing is. A bit annoying that yours has been in so often but not much you can do about it. At the mo I've got a Golf and the only thing rattling is half a tin of mints!
  5. Hello all, Relatively new poster here though have been lurking for a while reading up while weighing up my options. I'd be grateful if someone could answer a couple of simple questions..... Are these rattles horrendous or just the odd annoying thing? and Are ex-demo cars any better than new ones for rattle removal? I test drove an IS250 last summer and it was smooth as you like with nothing at all rattling. Many thanks Martin
  6. Thanks rap, I'll wait 'til I've got the money I think. Would look a bit of a fool otherwise!
  7. Morning all, First post here and a slight impostor as I don't own a Lexus. Yet. I test drove an IS250 a month or so ago and loved it and am debating the 250 or the 220 (stock market permitting) but one thing I didn't really test was the leg room. Lots of reviews mention the lack of space but then lots of reviews mark the car down for all sorts of things that I, or you on here, haven't found. I suppose the best way to guage my quality line would be would two of my mates, of average height, be OK in the back for a 2 hour journey to football matches? Any views are much appreciated. Martin
