  1. Does anyone know the difinitive answer to this?, my IS is 5 years and 10 months old (50k) and it has to be done by 6 years or 100k which means its due very soon. It has to be done at 6 years or 60k. It used to be 10 years or 100k but Lexus changed it and personally i think it's better to get it done at 60k. But there have been plenty of people on here that have left it until 100k and had no problems. Sounds like its not worth the hassle to take the chance. It will get done next month! Cheers guys.

  3. When you say that "you need to get the fogs done" what exactly are you talking about. My IS200 is excellent condition (recent Granite Sky respray and wheels refurb) but is also bog standard and I am looking to maybe make it look a little different without too much expense. Sorry for asking a novice question! By the way - the pictures above in this forum is the nicest IS i have seen, nice job.
  4. what you doing to your car Niraj, weight saving on a more serious note, i had a rattle coming and thought it was coming from behind the dash, but it turned out to be a screw that had come loose and was moving around inside the front centre reading light, check that first. Raj Thanks once again to all of you - the rattle has gone!! Dont know exactly what I done but a few days ago it stopped and has not returned since. :duh: At least I know how to get in there now!
  5. Well guys I appreciate your help and gave it a go but unfortunately did not succeed. Following your instructions it was easy to dismantle the centre dash but once that was done (and the problem not solved) I realised that the noise was coming from further over. Closer to the passenger airbag area. I assume thats a much harder bit to go in and have a look? Again any help would be great. Thanks
  6. I will do....if I suss out whats causing it! And thanks to "Adie" and "Sorted Vti", will give that a go this weekend. :winky:
  7. I have a 2001 IS200 which about 2 weeks ago developed a small rattle from the dashboard which is driving me insane. Its nothing to do with the heater fan because even when its switched off the rattle/vibration is sometimes there. The car did have a phone kit fitted by previous owner so it might be that. What I am trying to find out is how I take the centre of my dash apart. It does not have Sat Nav. I am scared to crack something or damage it. If someone could tell me how to locate the screws or clips so that I can take apart the middle of the dash then that would be appreciated. Its done 50k, recently refurbished alloys and due to a nerd taking a key to it 6 months ago its also had a full respray (graphite grey) so its fair to say its in great nick - but the rattle is driving me to despair and unless sorted it has to go!
