  6. Thanks very much!!! We did the storehouse last time, and it was good fun, but no reason to do it again. Was thinking of the Jamesons one, I think that's nearby isn't it? Really looking forward to it. Quality idea about the sports bar.....me thinks I'm there!!! I'm going v early next Thursday, and returning late the following day
  7. Hi all I'm going to Dublni next thursday and friday. Went there a few weeks ago (for Paddy's day :)) :luck: :luck: :luck: and did all the tourist stuff while we were there (Guinness factory, Zoo etc). This time when I go back I'm staying with a girl I met when I was over there and we plan to have a nice couple of days. Any suggestions on what cool stuff to do? This girl lives just outside Dublin, but used to live in England and is best mates with a very good friend of mine (how come we met in Dublin in the first place!!!) Anyhow......any ideas anyone!?!? All comments appreciated! Thanks Me PS: Things like great places to take her for a meal, for example!?!?
  8. oh you mean with the levelling controller (for when you load up your boot?) Good thinking Batman! Thanks guys
  9. Please don't take this in an argumentative way, but do you really think a £35k 4x4 off-road vehicle (think what it's truly designed for!) should have alloy wheels that
  10. Hello :) Not any good at go-karting are you? If so....go away.....if not, hi, how you doin !!?? (this is a joke by the way and should not be taken seriously!) You'll love it here, it's a warm and friendly place!

  12. Hi guys, Nipping over to France soon, and just wondering if my 2001 IS200 has got a way of changing the headlights so they don't dazzle other drivers? Maybe a manual switch on the light itself or something like that? Otherwise it's those nasty black patches I guess!!!!?? Thanks for any advice Tony
  13. I think that costs $20 though, doesn't it?
  14. sorry to keep bugging you guys, but is this the 3-stage you all keep talking about ? Many thanks Tony
  15. Pic of my shine as promised...... See Here This was done with just one coat of this stuff...... the Gold Class Clear Coat Car wax. From what you've all said, I think I might try myself the 3-stage system, I was very impressed with this wax so will give the rest a go!!!!
  16. Great thread this one, one that I have a particular interest in. More specifically on my last car (Escort Cosworth), but still to a certain extent on my current, I am manic for cleaning it (my Escort mainly because it was a weekend car, so was great to clean while it was in the garage not being used!). For 5 years I have been pure Autoglym guy, and then at a show I overheard a guy talking about Meguiars. At MPH03 last year there was a meguiars stand, and I thought sod it, I'll get some (even though it will mess up the look of my garage.....EVERYTHING's white bottle with coloured square, or tin with writing :)). Anyhow, I got the gold class wax (with the little circular sponge applicator pad). I used it yeesterday for the first time. My garage is out of commision at the moment, so Saturday night (having spent all day cleaning the car.....wheels etc) I parked it in my underground car park at work and walked home. Walked back sunday morning in the blazing sun to a cool, shaded, perfect-for-waxing car!!!! It looked rather good.......and I will take some pictures at lunch time (though over night it got damp and so I may have to give it a quick rub ;)). I was very impressed with how easily the wax came off - it was a dream to use. It was perfect waxing conditions under that car park though, which obviously helped. So what's this 3-stage thing you guys are on about. I assume it's three different substances which are applied to your car? From some of the pictures shown, the cars look lovely, so it seems it works!?!
  17. Hi Matey, The way I always find best to look at cars is to compare what you could get for a similar price. My car is up for sale......it's a 2001 Y IS200 sport, literally just bought from dealer so 1yrs warranty, brand new eagle F1's, brand new std 17" wheels, granite sky, 34k miles (serviced at 30k and 34k). Electric passenger seat, 15mm lower model (i.e. second generation), quanan sprayed parking sensors (with display in dash), excellent condition, 1 yrs T+T, mats, Philips bluevision bulbs/side lights You could have that for £14,500 So, then the question becomes "What does low mileage on an IS200 mean?". Well, to me, nothing. They are so bullet proof that low mileage just means you're going to lose money if you drive high miles. And the warranties are very good (in fact it is considered the the Lexus USED warranty is better than the factory warranty!!!) The advice above is very good though, and the same people who gave me advice when I bought.....so I know it to be valuable!!! Forgot to say though, the chips away / dent restorer type companies are very personal. They are more often than not franchised, and so depending on where you live depends on whether you get a good guy or a bad guy. Just seek word of mouth and ask around you area, and you could get a pukka job done for not that much money!!! Also consider though, if your'e buying a car with a massive scratch down the side, what else has been done to it that you CAN'T see? PM me if you are interested in my car. I live in Kent. Sorry if it sounds like I've written alot and in not alot of time....it's cos I have!!!! Busy at work but felt I needed to comment :) So if I appear "flippant".....I apologise, I'm not normally!!!!!
  18. Oh hang on.......no, that wouldn't have been me - I come off at the wainscott bypass, cos I'm now living on St Mary's Island
  19. hehe, maybe it was me then!!?? You can always tell the number plate!! Yup, I was modelling in the fashion show bit. For Toni and Guy, not for the clothes company. 'twas good fun too!!!!!
  20. Did you see the fashion show at bluewater, underneath Toni and Guy? Did you see me in it !? Yes, yes, the rumors are true.
  21. What happened at the leaving of the car park? I'd gone by then!!!
  22. Hi all, Many thanks for a great day!! Sorry I didn't stay all day, but I DID get back in time for Volvo in Canterbury......and I DID go out with a police driver in their V70R. I was stunned by his driving ability. Absolutely stunned. Thanks to all the organisers for their efforts - a great day, which I truly enjoyed (even if I did get up with my clocks reading 5am!!!!!) Thanks again Tony Oh PS: Fever.....the race is on !! ;)
  23. Very good phone a 7210. Slightly older phone now, as Nokia then brought out the 7250 (basically a 7210 with a camera) and then the 7250i. Then the symbian phones (3650, 7650 etc.). The 7210 is very sturdy and, so long as you can get on with the key layout, is very very good. I like the Nokia menus, especially the recent (perhaps 18months) colour ones. Always have done which is why I stick with Nokias!! I have a 6100 at the moment......great phone. Tried a 6220 last week but didn't get on with it. To answer your question......7210, very good phone, older model, and if you can get on with the key arrangement (many can) then it's great!!
  24. That's a long story, Mudzs!! I'll explain all on Sunday, but basically, I'm having my current car swopped for a newer car (but identical) because of the service history problem. The car was sorted after the rear-ender about a month ago no probs. Did a very good job actually. All so much going on!
  25. Thanks guys. You make a bloke feel so welcome :) Can't wait till sunday - will be good to see you all again. I'll be at the M40 J8A services at 9 and then convoying with those guys, so will see you somewhere along there! Oh, as I say, I'll be in a courtesy GS300 rather than my IS200. Donna-Marie...........I WORK WITH THE GUY!!!
