  1. galvanized? I hope yes. timing is moved by chain.
  2. there is no problem with accepting the 350 kit, just you won't fit the 16" rims. And the base IS220d comes with 16" Normally, you do not need to bother with 16" but I do because for winter driving narrower tires are better and that's why I purchased 205/55/16... conclusion: if you have 18", go for 350 kit. People using 16" tires, don't go for 350 kit.
  3. I have Westfalia. http://www.elsaslovakia.sk/k1542-modely-vozidiel-lexus?od=12 it costs about 500 euro with eletricity parts and installation. Original sold by Lexus are Brink - I have to say that westfalia is much better in terms of design.
  4. unfortunately the system is not so simple http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=66990&st=0
  5. mee too. I have my pads and discs since new (74.000kms) but 2 months ago I had an emergency downhill stop from about 80kph with no-breaks trailer (weight about 500kg)* and now, when braking harder, the discs vibrate. So I am about to change discs soon. My mechanic says that original toyota parts are very good quality, but the price * guy with goldwing martinique was not so happy and hit me...
  6. no, IS350 has dics with larger diameter (and you won't fit 16" anymore)
  7. I am strictly against flush cleaning of engine using any additives on car, which has not been regularly cleaned like this since new.
  8. indeed he was! He was trying gently for half an hour before damaging...
  9. I am strictly against flush cleaning of engine using any additives on car, which has not been regularly cleaned like this since new. The reason is that residues may be released in relatively large pieces and before they will be filtered through oil filter, they may stuck on thin oil lines and they will block it. Do not forget that turbo is also cooled with oil lines, imagine what happens there in this case... There is no really need to flush the engine like this.
  10. if you mean this than I have to say my mechanic has destroyed it putting down my filter. Therefore I cannot reccomend nothing else than that what I wrote above
  11. that is true, it is nearly impossible to remove it. so I bought this from e-bay UK and it works: Toyota Yaris/RAV4 - Oil Filter wrench Size: 64mm x14mm sellers name is allthingsvolvo
  12. thanks for this post. interesting that in 3rd gear the power output is much lower than on 4th and 5th. I own KTM990 Adventure, and this bike has "gear sensor" where on 1st, 2nd and 3rd the max power is decreased to pass loudness and emmision tests performed in EU. Do you guys think this is the same matter? PS: if we would take middle value of each line, we would get very nice power output lines - really impressive. However, there are big steps in very small RPM range - what is this? It looked like you had wheel spin on the dyno... or?
  13. that is certainly one of the ways how to get rid of all problems very quickly :)
  14. I think it is rather design problem than production problem
  15. who told you toyota doesn't care about diesel? why then would they develop 1.4 D4D, 2.0D4D, 2.2D4D? PS: 2_All> it is all good, that lexus takes care and changes problematic parts. And I appreciate it. What I don't understand, how could such unfinished engine get to the market?
  16. this post should be read every day by japanese Lexus engineers. I simply don't understand, what happened, that engine, which was not brand new when put in IS, has so many major problems. Then all those toyotas Kaizen, Genchi Genbutsu, TQM - is this only a marketing bull****?
  17. if it is a bit colder, than 1200rpm is normal until coolant warms up.
