  1. Here is the climate + at it best look at the temp range 🙂
  2. I have been reading various post and comments on tyres, the good, the bad and nexen for the CT and i have always disliked the stock lexus tyre. However just a FYI these Michelin tyres are amazing in the dry (hea (26 degs) and brilliant in the wet. If its snows this winter i will update the post. The car is now silent. and sure footed like never before. 1. no road noise, 2, stops better, 3. in rain it feels glued to the road 4. i am sure in the ice and snow they will be just as good. - no more snow socks Yeah!! Just my view... These ALL weather tyres on the CT are the way to go. Highly recommended. Mark
  3. I have been using Lexus Sidcup for spares and "Barry" their parts manager was super helpful. I have always had good service from Sidcup!
  4. Just checked my 2005 RX400h seal is good a new. This is very strange?
  5. I have had both petrol and the old diesel IS and now just have a newish 2200d and a RX for the misses! I did have numerous issues with my old 250, rattles, sweaks, brakes, but it had a much smoother auto box compared to the newish manual 220d. Everyone said i was mad having a 220d but the new one which is a year old is stunning, gearbox has seemed to have improved. I have believe it or not also a rattle free car !!! so far its been a great car. I know the history of the older 220d on these boards shows problems but mine has been the opposite. I get around 42 - 45 mpg on the 220d up and down the motorway and i don't drive like miss daisy It has had all the recalls done and is so much more economic the old 250 how you can say they are the same is stupid! I have my fuel costs on my credit card for one year in the real world and the petrol compared to the diesel is 17% more expensive to run so far. Rgs The buzz!
  6. Simple 1. The rear calipers need a rubber sleaves replaced on the pins not a big job as they just split due to wear (same problem on the Audi A6) 2. Steering rack issue very minor fault but Lexus always take it seriously! Should be done under warrenty! Rgs Ths Buz
  7. just been reading the good, bad and ugly All i can say is my IS220d has been 10.10 - no rattles, no mirror issues, no injection issues, Car serviced all the time at Lexus and i love it! Quick on the M25 using 6th average 38.9 AVG MPG and i the cooling seats are great. I have just dropped back my 07 Beamer 320d M and its been a pain, so many issues including a cleaning bill for my drive of 200 quid for dropped oil. I know so people have had issues with the old IS but so far its been great! The "IS" is the Claudis schiffer and the Seat Exeo looks like "katie price" All upfront, plastic and reworked model.
  8. That is it! Thanks everyone for your help 10.10 I will speak to the dealer and see what the price is? I will keep you posted.
  9. I do not want the cheap looking Halfords Tat I want the real ones ?
  10. Hello Everyone, Just got out of 2008 IS220d which had Lexus Coat Hangers installed that attached to the headrests. Looked great and really useful. Any ideas on a place to get them? Just a idea? The guy who had the car says it came with them..
  11. PS ? BMW diesel recall BMW recall! They have changed three on our fleer including a 06 520d at the last service It says BMW is recalling all recently-built models with a six-cylinder diesel engine, including the X5 3.0d, 730d, 535d, 530d and 330d. Cars made in December 2004 and January 2005 but i know they went up to 07 Rgs The buzz...
  12. Did you get it sorted? I have been looking at mine today and its been perfect, The Buz,,,
  13. Did you get it sorted? I have been looking at mine today and its been perfect, The Buz,,,
  14. I have on my drive a 320D M Sport 07 (fleet car tourer) and a 220d 08 SE-L test drive both; Its a personal thing! 320D great car but very hard on a long drive and had three recals so its always not always smooth sailing with BMW; I love the Lex. I unlike some of the post seen here mind has been great. I never had an issue and the ride is so much softer... I think the beamer is great for a short sporty drive; On the other hand the German gets around 34.7 and Jap around 42 MPG But for a long trip the Lex i my view is a better.. but i agree the the boot is as small as a A4 PS Lex cooling seats in the warm today was ummmmm !!! etc The Buzz..
  15. I have a 220d and was driving a fleet BMW 320d M Sport yesterday both computers reset to be fair... Same distance 120 miles M25 (30 miles) rest around town (90) (240 total) my lex 220d 8100 miles on clock and did 44.2 AVG so the computer said.. BMW 320d 6231 miles on clock back to home 31.7 mpg said the German info system with a blue dot.... So following the threads let the car bed in, check with dealer, i was not driving hard but I also not driving like I was towing a caravan.. ( And did use 6th gear!) (and same traffic load on road) (and yes air con was on on both) PS the Beamer was a tourer but that should make no difference... Next i will be reading a thread with someone telling me that their v12 does 120 MPG and the lex does .7 This again is just me experience.. PS had a go in the new Honda hybrid. Leaves fall on the digital display if you press the pedal to the metal. it was soooo slow.. but hay if you want 60+ MPG and drive at 15MPH its the way to go.
  16. My 220d mirror does not vibrate and does not go blurred. has the windscreen changed?
  17. I agree with 90% of the comments; A good dealer is worth their weight in gold. Just heard on the grapevine that all the UK dealers have been away on Lexus training some place sunny. Maybe if any of you have issues it might be worth a call to the dealer while they are in all in a good mood. ;) The buz.. PS bottom of our list is a French car called a citreon c1 .. 8 breakdowns in two months?
  18. I read these posts and smile , some saying how good the IS220d is and some saying the opposite the and every other car manufacturer is better than Lex group. I have had, VM, Mercs, Audi, BMW, and even a Ford, and I look at our company fleet list showing how good cars are in the real world. If you read car mags like me, i smile at the motoring press who get free lunches to say how a TATA 4x4 is reliable. Which Car seems honest and close to the real world but seems hard to get hold off unless at sainsburys?. My view only Here is a list down memory lane to put some balance back. Various VW's - Golf MkIV - Great car coil packs, so many door locks and various gearbox issues; dealers that cannot be bothered. New one broke down day two from a ECU error and coil pack recall -sigh . VW assist were great - fixed in three hours VW passet on our fleet do not go there! I did 8K miles and got to know my local dealer on first name terms "Hi Kevin"... New Honda CIVIC - on our fleet, my next door Mk1 escort is more reliable BMW. various 3 series inc 320d M sport Injectors, suspension gearbox and two air con units But when all fixed all ok! Merc various CLK and C classes, seat belts, seats, and burned oil, last one CLK slammed the boot and rear brake light cover fell off.. Car was ok New ones are now better! Really old ones are also great but 2/3 year old mercs well! nice badge TAXI!!!. Looking at our fleet list (with proper servicing) and just my experience, Lexus is so much better!! All RX have been bullet proof but do seem to eat brake pads. IS250 and IS220d also show a 9/10 and 10/10 "with correct dealer servicing and recalls done!" with the IS220d, recall all done etc doing really well with our reps driving up and down the M25 carpark and driving these cars very hard. Has my company and me just been lucky with Lexus - I think not..... The Buz
  19. :) Thanks everyone for your honest and open comments, after test driving both again, I think it’s the 350 that gets the vote, as I found the 400h slightly heavier on the steering. Someone also mention maybe using LPG when the warranty runs out would be easier on a 350?
  20. Hello everyone Just about to buy a ex demonstrator 400h or a 350 from my local dealer, It’s the million dollar questions for me.. Any comments on the one to buy? pros and cons woule be good, Rgs Mark
