  1. You're imagining it. The one's ruud has bought should fit no problem although I would add that the ones I got are aseriously tight fit. Of course, if you mean the rear lights, that could be a different matter.
  2. The indicators are a very good price. The side repeaters (at least on MKIII) are early MR2 and often on .co.uk or available by Googling. They are a direct replacement, clear rather than amber but otherwise identical. The rear lights look good too. I tinted mine.
  3. Hi TC, That is an interesting and very possible theory. I wonder though.....if the flow is retricted enough for the coolant to cool down in the heater matrix when the fan is on and likewise would heat up more than usual around the engine...would the engine not run a lot hotter than normal? Ive been giving this some thought. My heater definately improved when I had it vacuum evacuated and vacuum refilled. Maybe the evacuation sucked c**p out thats not possible by draining alone. However, as Ive said elsewhere, whilst its much improved it still don't burn. before I had it done I could only get heat on 27 degrees and not much then. I am now ok on 21 or 24 if its very cold but then have to turn it down. This is obviously as frustrating as my temp gauge and radio (progress has been made with it).
  4. In this thread http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=71222&st=0&p=745376&hl=flanges&fromsearch=1entry745376 there's a post from me containing various links which should help you. Dont overlook the search facility - up on the right; its a massive resource.
  5. Hi ManicMark. Many thanks for your reply and guess what, you were bang on the button.Popped down to the local exhaust centre today and the guy who checked it called me over to show me and it was exactly as you said. One of the cat joints is blowing slightly ( the other side does not look too good )and is very corroded but i think it is original ( 1997 ) . He did not want to undo it incase it broke so he put some sort of paste on it as a temporary measure and it made quite a difference so you were right.I think the long term answer is probably new cats unless there is another way but thanks for taking the time to help me .Once again, thankyou, Pete. No new cats. have a look at the search facility for "flanges" its those that you need and significantly cheaper than cats :winky:
  6. Instead of clicking "Reply", scroll down to "Fast Reply" and type you response in there.
  7. You might have to buy a hardcopy off fleabay. The only other online document I could find was Canadian. Fleabay could provide the missing info, particularly colours & trim.
  8. This lot should sort you. The 2nd link is yer actual brochure http://www.automotive.com/used-cars/specifications/11/lexus/ls430/index.html http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls430/353879-ls430-print-brochure-archive.html
  9. If you click on the stockists tab > UK, it gives a good list of firms. You will need to search their site/telephone for MKIII which will probably be from a different manufacturer.
  10. Hi. This thread and its links should help http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=69778&st=0&p=736748&hl=control%20arms&fromsearch=1entry736748
  11. Sounds like the bearings in the compressor. Don't know if its serviceable or replacement.
  12. Its fairly likely to be the bulbs themselves which have blown. Straightforward un-solder and re-solder new ones.
  13. The water pump is driven by the engine so higher revs = greater water flow.
  14. Trust me, it aint just a light bulb and there are about 15 of them. However that price is crazy; you can buy a replacement unit for $299 plus postage, albeit with the volume knob on the left.
  15. There is a fuse for cruise, I cant remember if its in the box behind the battery or in the one above and to the right of the accelerator pedal. No, the car stalling is not a common issue. Have a play with the search facility for stallinging, idle etc. I'll have a look later. No doubt another member will be able to point you in the right direction.
  16. The climate control decides the direction of the airflow and whether the a/c is engaged. It also controls the bulkhead valve for heat input. I have not previously considered that to achieve the correct temperature it might also use fresh air. Can't see it myself but anything is possible...
  17. Was the engine off at the time? Wondering if warm water is finding its way in by gravity or the likes.
  18. Hi The heated seats will be the elements almost definately. Assuming the cruise warning light is on and you are above 30 mph, keep trying it. Mine was the same when I got my car; it was down to lack of use and regularly trying it got it sorted. I am currently working with Benfur (another member) on curing the backlight issue and should have the solution soon. Aerial - ditto Steve2006 Boot. To add to previous comments. Completely remove the seal from the lip. Clean it and the channel. There are plastic corners at the back - check these for c**p. Similarly there are plastic covers for where the rear light cluster joins. Remove, clean and refit. Check both parts of the light clusters are firmly fixed and there is some evidence of the seal being present. I replaced my bonnet struts this time last year. £50 off fleabay inc postage. Superb.
  19. Hi and welcome to LOC. Yes there are. Use the search facility which may well give you the info you need.
  20. That'll be a good point then 1) Air flowing faster over matrix? 2)Increased airflow through radiator? Coolant not as warm. This is back to square one. As I said in my thread last year, or elsewhere here, my heater improved considerably after vacuum filling which gives merit to the airlock theory.
  21. Make sure you stick exactly to the correct fill procedure, especially the revving and topping up.
