Was your car still in some sort of warranty if they ordered up a new stereo for you 'just like that'? Mine suffered the same problem (IN warranty) so I took it to Lexus Coventry and almost had the 3rd degree - showing proof of last service etc etc and initially was told that if it was not considered a warranty problem 'the last one cost about £360.00'! It was also suggested that trying to play PC burnt CD's probably causes it. In the end they replaced it for nothing. At the same time I mentioned that the passenger door opening 'silver' handle had a sharp burr on it. They looked at it apparently but I don't think they did anything about it. To cap it all they replaced the air freshener the correct way up - not realising that it was that way up because it leaked the other way. It went everywhere! So were Lexus Reading really that nice?

In June I took my LS200 Auto for its 70,000 service in Swindon. I thought that the front nearside tyrel was wearing oddly (only 8000 miles use)and asked for a check. That will be £70 I was told for an 'opto alignment check'. I paid, they said that they found nothing wrong. OK so I didn't continually check the tyre once they told me it was OK - but when I took it for its MOT last week (77000 miles - tyre had done about 15,000) it failed because the outside edge of the front nearside tyre was worn to the limit. This is adding insult to injury after being charged £70.00 to find 'nothing wrong'. Do I have a case? My local dealer is now Coventry To cap it all the spare wheel was covered in RUST spots when dug from the dark recesses of the boot!

My V reg IS200 auto has covered 77000 miles. My main is that the wheels get incredibly rusty in no time at all. Lexus refused to do anything about the problem, "because the mileage was over 60,000, even though it was only 2 years ild at the time. Apart from that it is very reliable.
