  1. Thanks for the suggestion - but the question was really whether this is a problem and whether it's common. Anyone else had this?
  2. Whether I use a quick press or a long press seems to make no difference - i.e. even if I hold the button in it does not unlock first time. Also, it has a new battery - range is not a problem, e.g. for locking etc.
  3. Is this expected behaviour or a problem? When unlocking my car with the remote, if the car has been left for a while (e.g. overnight) it takes up to 5 presses on the unlock button before the car unlocks. The first presses give only a brief flash of the light on the key fob - the unlocking flash is longer. If the car has been left for say an hour or two (sometime a little longer) it unlocks on the first attempt. N.B. 2001 model.
  4. It's horrible! Although not as bad as the SC430 ... The MarkIII Soarer is still unbeaten on looks for me.
  5. I think you mean "DECREASING the mpg". Example: In a 4-speed auto box, the overdrive button will disable the top (4th) gear, so the autobox will never change into that gear - useful for overtaking on A roads as when you depress the button the car immediately will change down from 4th to 3rd (e.g. if you're doing a steady 40-45 behind a lorry) giving you more oomph to overtake.
  6. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ With all due respect ... this is patently untrue - in fact it's complete rubbish! Hi, Explain then why its rubbish. I apologise for my abrupt reply earlier. Let me explain - I had a Soarer TT for 2.5 years, no problem with any petrol I used. Never heard of anyone else having a problem either. If the boost is increased significantly or other mods are in place, some people then reckoned on using Super Unleaded - otherwise no probs with standard. In fact when I did use Super Unleaded there was no noticeable difference in performance.
  7. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ With all due respect ... this is patently untrue - in fact it's complete rubbish!
  8. Reckon on 16-18 with short urban driving (i.e. trips less than 3 miles total), 24-27 for long steady blasts on the motorway (at 70mph), 22 as a reasonable average. Basically if cost of fuel is a big factor, avoid. If you want to have fun and do few miles or have deep pockets, go for the TT!!! Luxury rocket ship for very little cash. Highly recommended. :D :winky:
  9. Sorry but I can't see any difference!!!
  10. I cannot see why the manual "needs" it and the auto doesn't - what difference does that make? Anyway, I'm grateful it doesn't ... another good reason not to have the manual :winky:
  11. These cars have a 10 year bodywork warranty don't they? Gotta be worth a visit - but they will want to see a full service history I suspect ...
  12. ditto.............. my Is200 bleeps like a lorry S'funny mine doesn't then? It's an 01 SE auto - maybe some previous owner had the good sense to disable it!
  13. I need to buy a laptop that will not only do the everyday stuff but will play multimedia successfully. So, for example, run power point presentations with all the flashy transitions available and also play DVD, WMV and/or flash presentations (with both applications loaded at once). Question is, which processor should I go for? Celeron M, Pentium M, Pentium Core Duo ... or one of the AMD stable? Don't want to spend more than I have to, so while I don't need to buy the cheapest, if I can save £100 and still get the performance I require all to the good. I will ensure a minimum 512MB RAM as I am a great beliver in having enough memory ...
  14. My chosen budget wouldn't run to an IS300 - and I don't think even a supercharger would get me close to the TT performance :winky: Still the IS200 will be a much better drive around town, what with the state of the roads given the government spends nothing on fixing potholes and resurfacing after the gasman, electricity man, cable man and every other tom ***** and harry has been hacking away at the surface.
