  1. I should have said that this issue was as the dealership delivered the car to me. Due to Covid it was a strange hand over and of course the car was unlocked when I received it, and I didn’t think to check, or even expect to have to check that it was working, after all it was meant to have had a pre delivery inspection.
  2. Ah thanks. I watched a Lexus YouTube clip and the the car chirped, but I realised it was for the Canadian market and not U.K. so it wasn’t clear whether U.K. cars chirp or not.
  3. A quick question. Should the alarm chirp once/ twice when locking and unlocking? My car does not. I didn’t get to the dealer today, so will be going over on Friday morning.
  4. Hi, going to try to get back to the Dealer tomorrow afternoon.
  5. Hi, Good point. I have tried it with the car a number of locations over the couple of days and it is the same. I forgot to say that even if I use the unlock button on the fob, it still takes the same amount of time!
  6. I only picked the car up from Lexus this Saturday pm. Of course when we picked it up it was unlocked. Phoned the dealer this morning and they tell me both key fob batteries were changed pre delivery and had no idea why it is so slow...
  7. Hi I have just purchased a RC to replace my IS. One thing I have picked up on already, is that when I touch the back of the door handle to unlock the car, it takes About 4 or 5 seconds before anything happens. On my old IS, as soon as I touched the door handle it would instantly unlock. Any ideas? Can I reprogram it? Any thoughts. Is it right? Thanks.
  8. Hi, I've Owned my 55 plate IS250SE Auto for 5 years now from 8000 miles to 76000 miles now and kept the service history with Lexus. Anyway in the last few months I have been noticing if I am in traffic and the car is in 5th or 6th gear (auto), and the car is slowly accelerating through 1200 to 1800 rpm under load (ie up a slight incline) the car develops quite a vibration, I guess from the transmission, driveshaft or axle, it is quite noticable through the seat and the steering wheel, but I don't have a clue what or why this is? Has anyone had a similar issue, or have any ideas? Regards Andy
  9. Hi, We've just found the website whilst looking for info on IS200's with baulking 6-speed gearboxes! We bought our IS200 (1999) about 12 months ago from our local Lexus dealer (all over us to get the cash deal- but no help whenever we have any problems). Right from delivery we stated that the change from 1st to 2nd was unacceptable, and the car has been back 3 times, but each time we were told there was nothing wrong. The car is now out of warranty, and suddenly the problem is even worse! We thought we were unique with this problem, but now I would suggest it is an inherant design fault. Ansar
