  1. Hi, £80. It Has sorted the Problem, this was about 2-3 years ago, and the seat remains squeek free.
  2. Had the same issue with my front seat. Lexus took it out and refitted it and kindly relieved me of more cash. Apparently, they removed the "lugs" that are used for locating the seat easily during manufacture. The Pursuit for perfection continues.
  3. 5 or 6 rear calipers.......thats taking the royal ***** if you ask me.
  4. That's not normal.....One thing Lexus are good at are ultra smooth Auto Boxes.
  5. Thanks Fellas Will let you know how I get on. PS. Have invested in a diagnostics Reader, saves £80 a pop for lexus plugging one in!!...and now you can pick up a good one for £30. Got to wait for light to come back on now though, as I Cleared the codes after checking. Toodle Pip.
  6. Hi Folks, Had Bank 2 Sensor 1 replaced by lexus in the summer Same Sensor has gone......would this be covered by warranty. Rgds, Tony.
  7. Lights are back on ............................................................................... :eerrrmm:
  8. I thought it was just me!.....But I stand assured by my experience that Lexus just don't make'm like they used to.....real shame.
  9. update: Got bored today. so removed petrol cap and this time completely removed rubber gasket and cleaned crap from behind it, cleaned gasket, appled vasoline to back and replaced gasket, then applied vasoline to face side and put cap back on. Didn't bother removing any battery terminals. Anyways made the short journey to asda for some fine Malbec, the lights still showing.....then after the shop started up and NO LIGHTS!!! Will see if this continues......if it does the question is this.... Yesterday what would a diagnostic machine plugged in have found? sensor faulty maybe?.........and now with no lights on what would the diagnostic machine find?..............which then leads to the question....have I been raped by my Lexus dealer in the past? Happy New year to everyone...and good luck.....I think we all will need it.
  10. Thanks anyway........wil let you know how things transpire.....and please stick to the thread in future :winky:
  11. So sorry rarcher...this most be terrible for you and sooooo inconvienient. I to suffered with a hissing noise from behind the dash with a previous car, removed this after looking under bonnet (see photo) and the hissing went away pretty much instantly. :hohoho:
  12. Hi Larry, Seasons greeting to you too... The Lights came on after 300 miles on the same tank of fuel. This Morning I appied some vaseline to said gasket on petrol cap, also disconnected the battery for 15 mins. So far 3 start stop trips and no Lights. Will keep you posted as to how long this "fix" lasts. ....... Find it unbelievable that something like a petrol cap can render a car with such lights and unsafe to drive with no traction control, and if this does fix the issue also makes me wonder if I am being taken for a ride by Lexus after having spent well over £1000 on bloody oxygen sensors in the past. Thanks for your advice.
  13. Well......to quote a phrase " I don't beleive it" Xmas morning and "check vsc" back on....no traction control...ideal this time of year. I wish someone could explain to me why this is happening every 4-6 Months. It's taking the P**s now.....if it's one of the 3 oxygen sensors changed in the last 12 Months will they be covered under warranty? Merry soddin xmas. :megaangry:
  14. Hi Larry, The 3 oxygen sensors I had replaced were around 70k milage mark upwards, although it had two replaced before I took ownership. Trouble is what to buy next! Was thinking about a freelander HSE. we'll see.
  15. I'm not buying another one.......mine is always serviced by Lexus...so no compromise in maintenance. My Mark 2 GS, was flawless. Mark 3 ....since in my ownership of 4 years: 3 Oxygen Sensors Replaced Drivers seat removed and replaced due to squeaking (at cost!) Constant rattles from passengerside dashboard area New catalytic convertor and part of corroded exhaust replaced Offside balljoint replaced Motor in wingmirror stopped working. It's a bloody shame bcause the car still looks brand new, strong motor and good MPG. But my 2002 reg Renault trafic has been more reliable.
  16. Thanks PJ S, your a little ray of sunshine.............anyone wanna GS300 Sel...first 5K seals the deal..............
  17. Hi Folks....yet more doom and gloom for me and my Lexus. This time the Passenger wing mirror appears to be faulty. It will adjust up and down, but not left and right. When I press left or right a click can be heard...but no wirrring or movement. Anyone no if there is a quick fix, or is it caputt. Rgds, Tony.
  18. Got my Car back. All seems ticketyboo.....eventually cost £1830 inc vat. Had advisory on more of the exhaust, and will soon require a new centre pipe £1121.88 and new rear box £705.39 ......given that I just spent £700 on new cat......has anyone with a similar car ever used aftermarket companies, and would they be much cheaper/as good. Rgds, Tony.
  19. UPDATE: Spoke this morning with Lexus Dealer, seems that the new Cat isn't coming from somewhere in Europe, but rather Japan!!! So no car for another week. They are however lending me a car again this weekend so my weekend break to Windsor isn't spoilt, so thats very good of them. Steve has summed it up, my Old GS was bullet proof......they just don't build things like they used to, not just a Lexus thing, i'm sure many Merc and BMW owners would say the same. Ho-Hum.
