  1. Rodge has not yet proven any of his claims, we have not seen pics of it fitted to his car or got any figures from the dyno. Even if you buy it from him @360 euro it will take 10 months to pay for itself (Depending on how much fuel you use). So singing its praises at this stage on another forum is premature to say the least.
  2. Drove to Limerick yesterday and met MarkRS200 and he very kindly fitted the Kakimoto backbox. Car feels more powerful and sounds great. Excellent drive home with window down listening to the soundtrack (Girlfriend not impressed ). MarkRS200 is a top man and his car is B) B) B)
  3. Im thinking of doing that exact same thing. Although its not really possible to try before you buy. You may get stuck with a really stiff damper that is not suitable for daily driving. I'm trying to stretch my funds to Super Street or Flex where at least you could have some control. Maybe somebody can tell you from looking at the specs on the Tein Basic Damper whether they would be soft or break your back......In the end its going to come down to what you can afford........ Look on www.nengun.com or www.takakaira.com If you do go with the basic damper let me know how you get on :)

    MARKRS200: PM me how much you want for rear section. I realise that life begins after 4500rpm but this flat spot cannot be Normal. It cannot be explained by **** fuel, as I have used octane booster. Which brings it up to 98Ron and that did not improve the situation at all. This feels as though that flap is delaying opening and reducing performance.

    1/ Yes the back box is the same :) , as in the dimensions are the same so it will fit, although there is an internal difference as the RS200 has a flap that opens when over a certain pressure... 2/ factory wheel Alignment specs- On 32psi tyre pressures- Rear Axle: Camber -0deg 55min +/- 45min toe in +0deg 11min +/- 11min Front Axle: Camber -0deg 30min +/- 45min Castor +6deg 05min +/- 45min toe in +0deg 05min +/- 05min contact Tony on his website for a more accurate diagnosis Could this flap be responsible for the flat spot on acceleration im currently experiencing? The flat spot is between 3-4k revs How much would I be looking at for a new back box?

    Im sure this question has been asked before: Is the IS200 backbox/silencer the same as the Altezza? also Can somebody send me on the correct geometry setup for the wheels cant find it on the site.
  7. From what the guys say on that thread, it looks like buying an Apexi intake is a waste of time and money unless you want to also buy a new ECU to realise the gains....Was going to order one aswell. Has anybody dyno'd before and after to see if there is a pony increase......
  8. Just an idea...Does the MAF sensor have enough slack to reach the intake pipe on your Apexi. It looks a bit strained in the photo. Maybe something is coming loose Just an idea is all :duh:
  9. Did you damage the MAF sensor when you put it back on? What brown thing is still disconnected. Also get in contact with the guy on this thread he has one fitted. In the meantime go back to your old set-up and see if its back to normal..... Linky
  10. Fit the filter first. The ECU then learns then correct air/fuel mixture with the induction kit on :D
  11. Yep reset the ecu by plugging out the ects fuse( i think) under the bonnet. It will help the ECU adjust quicker to the new filter system How long do i leave it out for? Taken from another forum and to me makes more sense than simply disconnecting the battery or removing the ECU fuse.: Turn on the car and warm it up (make sure that it is at normal idle). Turn off the car and pull out your ECU fuse located in the fuse box under the bonnet Keep fuse out for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Plug fuse back in and close bonnet. Start your car MAKING SURE NOT TO TOUCH THE ACCELERATOR WHEN YOU START IT UP. Let the car idle (at its normal idle) for about 5 minutes. Shut off the car and restart it. Take it for a test drive and you should notice the difference. Hpefully this works :winky:

  13. No they are for sale in Dublin. Any opinions on them? Have searched this forum with no luck TBH even on they're softest setting they're really stiff, they're not really for road more for track but know a few people who have them in there cars. It's personal preference as to whether you mind getting a few teeth rattled out or prefer your comfort. They do brilliant things for your handling tho, Tuning Factory have them in their Teg (see April '06 feature car on my site) & that's a seriously quick car around the track with very little engine work done! so do you reckon Tein Flex would be a better buy?

  15. I was considering buying D2 Coilovers for the Altezza. Anyone any opinions on these? How do they rate against Tein Type Flex. Are they really stiff and would they be ok for daily driving?
  16. No, its not really all it takes....Its a pain in the a**e to get the lead out of the AMP. You have to almost remove the AMP. Give it a go!!

    Its on my to buy list!! Not sure if i would have the balls to fit it myself though I have one for sale. I took it from my Integra before I sold it. They are simple enough to fit but it does take balls. Splicing into wires on your own ECU is not for the faint of heart. I also have the G-Meter for it and a stand. It is in good nick and PWO. Open to offers Money will go some way towards my coilovers

    How many sections does the exhaust have? Is it 3 or 4? I know that there is the back box, the center section which incorporates the cat and the front section. But is the front section in two pieces or is it one piece from the center section to the beginning of the exhaust manifold.

    My exhaust has two holes in it. The first is in the front section just after the manifold. This section of exhaust is covered be another skin(Heatshield I suppose). This second skin looks like it took a bang and punctured the inner exhaust there is no hole in this outer skin. The second "hole" is the joint between the center section and back box. The gasket is blown and it needs another. So can anyone tell me where I would source the front exhaust section and the gasket for the joint at the back? Would I be better going for an upgrade now and getting an aftermarket backbox? Would I be able to buy front exhaust section from toyota and what are they like with ordering parts for jap imports?

  22. Want to upgrade the suspension as I find it too soft. Was told that the original shocks and springs were ok so have decided that an upgrade is the only solution. So any suggestions on the best coilover kit to buy? Do I need to go as far as coilovers or will upgrading the springs do the trick? Anybody got springs/coilovers for sale?
  23. Go to a toyota dealer and get prices for genuine parts....... Then come back and see if you are still laughing. Or alternatively go back to the Japanese used car place where you bought your car and watch him laugh. He's laughing because you believed him when he told you that your car was fully serviced and the milage was genuine.
  24. The mechanic where I got it done was able to source everything. He did have a small Hic-Up when he was sent the wrong timing belt. But he got another and all was good. I got a major service using genuine toyota parts including water pump, idler, all belts and fluids, it did however cost me €1200, €350 of which was labour. But if you know this lad it may work out cheaper
