My Alloys have gone from bad to worse & unbalanced... and would like to get something sorted in the next 10 days. Anyone have a set sitting in the Garage who wants to free up some space? Heya, Sorry about not responding guys.. I've been away. I just saw the link, and had found nother pair that a guy was selling on a VW Forum ( He had put these alloys on a Passat! ) Both I think are completely unrealistic in price... I won't insult or frustrate with the prices I've seen two other sets go for in the last couple years. For that price I'd have to be looking at Gunmetal ones. Alloys just don't command a price on the 2nd hand market. Unless something like HRE's etc. I've got 6 sets of various alloys for various cars in the Garage... ??!?

yep... still have the NSX. it's a 2003 IOP ( Orange ) targa. Was thinking about selling it and set a date of this august.... but after driving it the last couple weeks, falling in love with the drive again. pretty darn awesome car.

I've got a real bad case of road rash on one of mine..... like running into a curb at 30 miles and hour road rash!!! Anyway after sorting out the all the other problems that came out of that incident many months back, I'm left with a pretty scarred alloy. Anyone know of anyone who has gone aftermarket who's interested in selling their old set???? or is a protracted Ebay search going to be the only route??? I would drool over a set of 2005+ Gunmetal ones!!!!!! TIA

Post on here, when you've found some and the price... if you can. I reversed into something at some point and dented one of mine.... would like to replace. last time I needed parts, I ordered from Lexus down in Poole ( i think it wasy ) 20% discount.... which was handy

On the look-out for a couple, or a set of standard SC430 alloys. Will look at either Dish, Spoked, or show me the new style gun-metal ones and I'll show you the money ;) Will arrange for pick-up/Delivery.

I know.. screwed up and missed them. I'm on the look-out now. Not urgent as there is no structural damage to the alloys... but two need replacing as the rash is fairly dramatic. Thanks for the help with getting in touch with Lexus in Poole. Car back out in the drive now ;)

Hit a curb and bent a few connecting mechanical bits on the passenger front wheel. No damage to Chassis, luckily. I Need. Lower Arm, Upper Arm, Anti role bar link and a strut. - not too much, after all. Any suggestions, anyone one know of a breaker that might have these parts second hand? Obviously looking forward to seeing what Lexus qoute.. Oh yes, 2 OEM Alloy wheels, please. I'd buy a full set if anyone has them collecting dust in the Garage. Saw the set on Ebay, just now... but not happy with the condition they are in.. The End.

I had that problem a lot with a couple different sets of aftermarket alloys I tried to fit. Once I went back to Standard OEM... then it was back to a smooth ride. If you forget to release the emergency brake, it will shudder also!

yep, I've got this problem. RE: the potentiometer ( what a name! ) how much does it cost and is that a dealer job? or can my local mechanic do it?

Hey Shunter! boomin33 from 300zx... you got an SC eh.. bought one 3 years ago. such a smooth motor with some great lines. real pleasure to own... with ZERO of the problems of most any other car out there! I came on here to look at some stuff... mainly see if I could find some late model OEM alloys. or even a new Dish, as one of mine is scratched... What did you do with your old ones? HERE'S the bad bit... looking at buying an 8 acre horse yard in RG... Damn Wife. Anyway one week to decide if we're going for it, but if so - all cars- SC, NSX, and my monster of a 300zx will have to shift in the next 6 weeks to help cover a fraction of the down payment. :( :( :( will never really be able to replace the NSX i've got :( :( it's barely dropped in value in two years which although is good in theory doesn't make it any more attractive to sell About to stick the 300zx up for £7000 and maybe even take something over £6000 for a quick sale... do you think that car will sell?

Well went and tried them out today. Not too big, though it looked like would have been ideal to lower an inch. Problem was that they were off a GTR=4 wheel drive, which called for same width all way around. Think they were 9J's Fronts stuck out a good half inch further than what looked good/right/normal. I would need to get a new centre piece for the fronts with a better offset ; There was a two finger gap between the tire and control arm/bar... so room for adjustment. imagine that would be £400 per alloy or so, not sure if worth the effort. Here are pics. and then the problem shots... Wife likes the pics... so think I'm on the right track ( as it is her car after all :) )

Yep, thinking the same... going to go over to his place next weekend, put them on to make sure they fit alright and most likely buy them.. was trying to talk myself out of spending a couple grand.. but think they will suit the car well.. I'll post pics if I buy ;)

don't settle for the 2003 version. I have it right now and it's a pain... certainly lacking, missing some streets altogether. absolutely love the car, just need to remember to buy the latest release next time I'm at the dealer. New DVDs for the SatNav are generally released every year in Nov/Dec. They cost about €159 to buy direct from Lexus - http://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/ Don't let the dealer fob you off - the most up-to-date version for most Lexus vehicles is 2008-2009 - check the version on the SatNav screen of the car before buying it. Alternatively, take the disc out of the machine (in the boot) and make a note of the codes numbers printed on the bottom and use the website above to check for the availability of updates. The website will then tell you if an update is available and will give you the Lexus Part Number: eg: PZ485-X03EU-08 (the 08 at the end indicates a 2008-2009 version disc). Hope that helps you out.

The never ending saga. Has anyone ever tried 20's? I had my SC serviced last week and was told that front brakes needed changing. Like you they also said something about 99% worn and so discs and pads need doing. They quoted £435 but I said I would shop around. Tried another Lexus dealer who is doing it for £290 (including LOC discount). It pays to shop around. Plus I do a lot of travelling so can usually get quotes from a wide range of dealers. I did think about going down the route of buying parts off eBay and getting a mechanic to fit - but I'm a total novice to mechanics and would probably get the wrong kind. Plus I like the piece of mind of using a dealer. Yep, ended up just going the OEM route due to not having the time to have my car sit in a shop while I sourced all the parts at a good price. Got it done for £270 in the end... £200 cheaper than the dealer qouted. Car driving sweet now.

The dealership is Binfield. qoute was £480 for two disks and pads. Say that they are 99% worn which caused damage to disks or something. tbh- never have impressed me much, told them fix something the last 3 times and they always forget. Ebay disks. - the grooved slotted ones look kind of cool, but not sure about the quality... rather pay a little more and get EBC or Brembo's. Unfortunately it's not the time for me to drop a couple grand on fancy Red ones! Chaz.. not sure of the actually service and what they are doing... my wife dropped it off. I'll check and let you know. Aquanuke... man it's been a while since I've been around; (got that NSX and disappeared, I guess) anyway.. you haven't been hanging around, huh. loads of mods, eh. really looking good. The smoked windows are making me pretty jealous, along with all the rest. I'll have to update my picture.. changed alloys about a year back. Looking to change again.. this time for 19's. just have to find the ones I want...

Took my SC in for a service and phone call says that front disks have a "lip" on them and qouted roughly £500 for front Disks and pads. what are my options? Figure Aquanuke has the most info on this? Worth an upgrade or should I just keep it standard ?? *with the recent price drop, won't be selling into for at least a couple years, so don't mind spending a little more for a much better set-up.
