  1. Hi and welcome you got a nice car...... answer to your 1st question - is that by law your not allowed to have the tv on whilst driving in the front and therefroe the manufactures have it set up that when the car is in motion it will switch/cut it off however I do know people have managed to get around this on other cars but I dont know about the lex Im sorry I dont know what the MW means or is used for
  2. Oh just to add I have spoken to Hilton gas conversation based in Wolverhampton any1 know of these guys and are they any good? Well I spoke to one of the techincal guys and mentioned I had an emmegas converstion but dont know which model..... he said its gona be a single point older version ( it was converted in 2001 ). I explained to him what is not normal and he knew straight away and said its got to do with your vapouriser (dunno what that is even after he explained lol) and that its probably the original one and not been changed since new (2001 or after 100K), he also mentioned that they normaly tend to go after 60K but near to 100K and some dont even go. Anways he said he got the part in stock and its also best to get the plugs and leads changed aswell to get a good mix what ever that means.... so In thinking of taking it to him for a complete service and vaporiser roughly for £150 does this sound a good deal? Also where can you get NGK plugs and a good set of leads from?
  3. Usuf_X, I have the same problem on my IS200 only tends to do it after a long trip never local or on petrol. Has far has spark plug they are the same has your standard one, nothing diff. I bought mine from ebay thanks to LOC for the links (imported from USA - creative performance IK20 i think) but not sure about the GS version. Once i replaced the plug it seemed a lot better and ran smoother, serviced the LPG system etc.. but after several thousand miles it has started to do the same pressure drop/surge has before. :tsktsk: Just a bug i guess i will have to live with it and accept it since it causes no probs. Just think of the fuel saving: winky: Dibslpg It dont cause a lot of problem only when i need to pull off the light and at time it struggles to move :tsktsk: but im living with it
  4. I have a GS300 MK1 sport and I would be bias and say GS300.... I have never driven or owned one but they do look like heavy cars though I been told that they both seem to have the same mpg in comparison but dont quote me on that. I would personally say the GS Sport would be more enjoyable and fun to drive
  5. Hi and welcome to the forum :D . Sorry Im not fully able to help Im new to Lexus my self. I have a GS300 MK1 Sport and tis a lovely car . I guess Lexus are not fully re-nouned for what they are in most peoples views and you have to own and drive one to fully appreciate it i guess... as for the battery on a hybrid sorry thats over head
  6. I been driving it for 2 days now and nothings wrong with it? how strange its fine........ I have noticed that it tends to happen when I normally go for a long drive more than 50 miles at high speeds, as the last 2 time its only happend after I came back from manchester and watford both long drives and highish speeds.....
  7. do you think it could be the plugs as I dont know when they where last changed? if so does any1 know where could i get a set or spark plugs for an LPG car
  8. Yes it sounds pretty much like that takes a few second to build up pressure.. I will have to go and get it serviced me thinks as i dont have a clue how these systems work....
  9. Hey guys wodering if you could help me out here - My lpg today started palying up, it would ilde roughly, i.e it would go down to 500rpm or a lil below that and then jump up to 750-1000 and be ok for a bit and then go down again but when on petrol it fine no problem at all.. Even driving on the motorway today on lpg when i put my foot down to overtake it would not move and then a burst of energy would happen and it will go faster and agin on petrol its fine not a problem.. Any ideas what it could be..................before I go to an lpg mechanic
  10. What do you mean starts flashing at you... does it go bonkers?!? The funny thing is it perfectly fine no problem i Have been driving it rapidly on the motorway ( over the speed limit ) and agin no problem ts just really weird... My bro in law who knows a bit about gas cars coz he had one said that it could have been cold and wet which effected it but not sure how? and when it happened it was really cold and had ****** down and while i was driving was wet all day..... not sure if it really is that...
  11. Update - Yesterday drove it on petrol for a few mins to town then went and gassed it up and rove to Harlow then East london and back on gas and no problem hmm. Today again everything is fine not a problem. Still might get it checked to find out what it could of been? but if anyone has any ideas it would be good to know...
  12. Realy weird today I drove to town and the car was running fine on LPG and then when I got home it sorted of lost power still driving but not giving any power when I accelerated :o then I swtiched it over to petrol wham all is fine :duh: . I went out yesterday to manchester and back and no problems I drove on petrol aswell while I was there... Anyone had this issue? or now what potentially could be wrong? I can start it up fine but when I start driving about 30 secs later it loses power but still drives
  13. I have heard there are some but are very rare... But also have seen on the internet where you can convert them to manual, by using the brake pedal like a clutch instead of handbrake.
  14. well I would say try getting another climat control unit from the breakers (seen some on ebay) give that a try if not then you can always get it checked out by a garage...air con specialist
  15. I take it all the other speaker are working fine.. have you checked your balance/fader, If you had taken the door card off have you checked with another speaker. Other solution is to fit new wires. It could also be a loose connection or a wire which has got cut or come off..... Just some suggestions...
  16. Are these only for cars that have tyre pressure sensors or somthing? or can they be fitted on any car? I was thinking of getting a set for my Gs300 Sport MK1 but was not sure if these would be ideal or should I stick to standard sets? Thanks
  17. I will soon be replacing my tyres and was thinking would 245/35/18 still be ok to use or should I stick with 245/40/18 that are currently on there at the moment... I was told it might put my speedo out by how much? and was advised not to do that.. I was going the with idea that my rears are 35 so why not stick on my 35's at the front aswell... is this a bad option to go with? Mind you the 245/40/18 are cheaper to get hold of (which I guess is one incentive to stick with them) has anyone else done somthing simliar along this line.
  18. Thanks Continunity thats made things a lot clearer
  19. I been using my Air Con now and then and at times for longish periods i.e today in traffic but Im not sure if its buring my Petrol or Gas......My Petrol needle is still in the same place for ages and has not moved so was not sure....Can anyone enlighten me with this useful info. Thanks
  20. Guys, Gals can anyone shed any light if there is any difference in LPG quality from different suppilers like Asda, Morrisons, Shell etc.. For some reason I notice better miles per fill up from Shell than Asda. Where Shell is selling LPG at 47.9 and Asda at 41.9 It most likely to be my driving but on various occasions its done this, i only fill up from Shell occasionally as its open 24 hours and Asda is not and its the closest one to me (2miles) the Asda one is about 9 miles (Still works out cheaper going to Asda)
  21. now thats just out of this world....
