  2. I went for a Vcam off Ebay £30 a couple of years ago after a lot of research . Its insurance co approved and you can get a discount on insurance with some companies .
  3. The mark 4 is an all round better car faster more economical, No real electrical glitches the stereo is fantastic. belt change is 90k as with the 430. VSC traction control & snow mode are a major + The VVTI engine is perfect. The mark3 is superb but the mark 4 is just that bit better all round. & for me better than a 430. Go & try one but at the end of the day if a mint perfect mark3 came about I wouldn't rule it out either.
  4. I would think £1600 would be achievable without a problem as its on lpg.
  5. Mine went down £80 on renewal first time ever. I go between adrian flux & sky both brokers & seem to get a good deal every year.
  6. Sorry to hear that Chris, Lots of jobs going in the Magna park area with good rates you are a C+E (class1 old money). Wont take long to get another job Chris as there is a shortage of 80,000 drivers.
  7. In relation to the prius my mate got one as a company car, He was raving about how quiet it was, I went for a drive in it then took him in my ls 400 oh dear not so quiet after all. The main problem he had with the prius was in the winter around town the heater didn't work.
  8. Better still convert it to lpg use it all the time , It still won't be as cheap on fuel as the smart but overall insurance tax mot depreciation ect you will save money & get to drive in luxury every day & I promise you will never get bored of it. These cars are built to be driven, If you use them on a regular basis they will run forever.
  9. Mark 4 you wont regret it mark 3s a brilliant mark4s are just that bit better.
  10. My old one done that I think the cold start device stays full on & then has the same effect as a full choke. i dont know if it doesit on this one my new one as I dont start stop & try & restart from cold.
  11. 87k is not a lot for a lexus wheel bearing my last one had 192k on its original & this one 162k. thats 400s though but i would asume the same for a 430. I would argue that it is not the norm for them to go at such a low mileage.
  12. I read the service life of the belt is 150k I have never heard of one going unless the water pump fails. If you do a lot of around town work or the car stands for long periods this would have an adverse effect on the belt. Normal mixed mileage or motorway use wil be much kinder. The vvti engine is 90k or 10 years recommended non vvti 62k or 6 years (info came from a Lexus mechanic I trained to drive a truck). My penny's worth just to confuse matters more
  13. He is a member on here I'm sure he will come forward with the info on it. Surprised he is not keeping it himself though as he has a 430 but prefers the 400.
  14. £264 to change the plugs you have purchased is mad Should only be an hours labour max.
  15. You can make a formal request for the cctv footage I believe & it has to be supplied.
  16. I ran my last ls400 for 60k no flash lube & my mate did 140k no flash lube on his last 400 & has done 60k in his 430 no flash lube & no problems. Leon at profess said it wasn't needed either.
  17. Thats through autoglass as a genuine lexus screen is the only one they do for a mark4 , mark3 they have aftermarket ones. It was done on my insurance as a stone went through it £70 excess .
  18. Toyota locking nuts are the same if you go for the sleeved ones.
